Yes, the trees are replicas of the two Lights of Valinor, the golden tree Laurelin and the silver Telperion. Their light was darkened ere the return of the Noldor by the monster spider Ungoliant, ancestor of Shelob, and the last remaining fruit of each were set in the sky to be the Sun and Moon. The two trees you saw in Gondolin are but their shadows, memorials grown by the Noldor to honor and recall what was lost in Valinor long ago...

Actually the two trees in Gondolin were descendants of the Two Trees of Valinor. Their names were Glingal and Belthil.

Be thankful we scaled the city down to 1:2 scale, otherwise you would be walking through a 1000 block wide city. I think that is large enough haha.
