  • is this a 2-stroke diesel?

  • Sounds like a 6.7

  • what's with the number "8.2"? What does it mean?

  • @ZooTycoonLord it's an 8.2 liter engine

  • @wwwtroveicom liter as in oil?

  • @wwwtroveicom retard

  • @ZooTycoonLord This engine is a 8.2 Liter V-8 named "The Fuel Pincher Diesel"

  • @ZooTycoonLord It means 8.2 horsepower, classic engines like these never made that much power.

  • @stoichiometric You forgot the smiley at the end of your silly answer.

  • @geek49203 insert this... :P

  • no antifreeze

  • Okay, I have driven many School buses w/ the 8.2 DD. It sounds different here since it has an open exhaust. I definitely know this engine, inside and out!

  • This is the same engine the cars in Battlefield 3 have

  • sounds just like a 7.3 PSD!

  • Of course its a 7.3, they took it out of the truck to put a cummins in it, DUH

  • i don't here a turbo and the 7.3 detroits had them so obviously not a 7.3 dumbasses

  • @MrKoby13 It's not wise to refer to other users as "dumbasses" when you don't even know the difference between HERE and HEAR. That is quite funny. The education system must have let you down quite badly - unless you are genuinely thick!

Quick lesson... You HEARD the engine, you can HEAR the engine and so on. First select the correct word, then the correct tense. That's past, present and future to you.

Have a think before suggesting other people are "dumb" as it only appears to be you!

  • @urbex2007 Lol

  • i think it sounds like an 8.2

  • yea i DO hate it when the top comments are the same

  • That engine idles way too fast.

  • biggest piece of crap ever built. should have sent it to the scrap heap

  • good ol fuel pincher

  • sounds like a 7.3!!

  • Youve got the only 8.2 Detroit video here except the doodlebug thing

  • Paper weight

  • @billyg1982 how

  • @ulric291

    Very welcome brother :)

  • @ulric291

No it is not a two stroke...a two stroke diesel has a very distinct sound... Pull up Detroit 8V71 on here and listen to the difference.....You'll love the sound of that two stroke for sure

  • sounds like an 8.2......not an intertrashional powerjunk (6.0, 6.4) the 7.3 was a great motor..... the 8.2 and the cummins vt555/903 were some of the only engines that factory repair shops would rebuild and give u a tail-light warranty on.... as long as it ran good.. .it was a good motor.... just hope nothing went wrong w/ it...

  • Muy recomendable ese motor, yo los instalo en México DF y con muy buenos resultados.

Turbo cargados, 230 hp lo mejor!

  • Cool 8.2L. Sounds pretty good. Mine was in an F700 Chassis with and an AT545.

  • Sounds like a 7.3!

  • @powerstrokeking should get your hearing checked maybe like a 6.5 / 6.2

  • @fischsnopro a 6.2 or 6.5 has the fuel lines over the top of the valve covers,

  • @BAJARACER43X ha i know this i own a 6.5 i was just saying it does not sound like a 7.3 sounds more like its cousins the 6.5s

  • @powerstrokeking if it was a 7.3 it would of thrown a rod

  • @86godsmack, You can think what you want but I have been driving a 95 7.3 in stop and go traffic for a while and it runs like the day it was bought. Got a friend who has over 300K on his and its never had a serious problem like a thrown rod. Not trying to start an argument.

  • What did you pull that out of?

  • well go ahead throw it on in a gokart

  • sounds like a 7.3

  • @Raptor1Boy yeah cuz youd totally be able to tell the difference between the two... .9 liters

  • Comment removed

  • are these Indirect injected or Direct injected?

  • @Hotrodx199

I might be wrong but I'd say Direct Injection

  • @WillieWonka928D they are direct and have a two stroke style fuel system and governor

  • @necroterrorizer

Yep, and the method of timing is different. Unlike the old 2-strokes which didn't require special tools, these need a timing kit from Kent-Moore which is no longer being manufactured to properly time the injectors.

  • @douro20 yea that sucks becuase we have one in a capacity yard mule still runs strong though itll spin the tires over haha which are bald and gel filled

  • looks like a v8 am i right?

  • @DRNEGOLICIS

    Yeppers its a V8

  • how many cylinders does the 8.2 have

  • actually, this motor has already been sold

  • that doesnt look much bigger than a big block chevy so i wonder if it would fit in my k-20 but how heavy is it and what are the hp and torque ratings on it

  • im thinking the same thing stick it in my c20 lmao

  • Depends on the original application of the motor. There are like 5 or so versions (turbo, non-turbo, marine, etc.). For the turbo version I think it's peak horsepower is 260 @ 3200 RPM and peak torque is 580 @ 1750 RPM. It may not be that much larger than a big block but it will be much heavier. For example the 6BT is only 5.9L and it weights 1300#.
