I am so overwhelmed with so many hymns in their words. This hymn speaks volumes to the author. It really goes to show how the Holy Spirit moves the mind to pen such beautiful and meaningful words that really hit home.
im vry glad to play dis song in my church organ, dis beautiful hymnal is one of the favourite song to me, especially my choir `ll singing partz dis song, really vry beautiful to hear dis song....
I love this beautiful song, cause my choir sing this song in our Catholic Church. 1 of my favourite hymn. i love how this choir sing it, cause my choir's not this good, .
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
It's me, again. Today (February 20), I filled in at a local Lutheran Church and played this as the Hymn of the Day. I did so because our New Testament (or Epistle) reading was 1 Corinthians 3:10-11, 16-23. This is a good hymn to compliment this Scripture. This is to all denominations. Take care and God Bless.
The Church is not some building or lifeless object, the Church is a living thing because it is the BODY OF CHRIST, and we we live in Him who died and rose again for us. He redeemed us by His Blood. And we shall never perish.
This is truly a beautiful hymn, my church choir will be singing this great song for our 69th church anniv. (Galilee Missionary Baptist Church - Detroit MI),
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (May 16), we sang this as the closing hymn. It is #654 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.
@mkl62 our congregation at Trinity Methodist Church, Malaysia sang this great hymn as our opening hymn a fortnight ago. It is United Methodist Hymal #545.
St. John Vianney (1786-1859) wrote: "My God, if my tongue cannot say in every moment that I love you, I want my heart to repeat it to you as often as I draw breath."
This is posted from a Baptist Church in England (if I understand correctly). Yet In the 1950's, this was a favorite of my Lutheran best friend and myself (who was Methodist Episcopal) -- in the Bronx NYC!.
As little girls, we would sign this hymn in her grandmother's garden. We both learned to love it in our own churches.
It signifies the unity of Christ's Church, regardless of denomination, regardless of nation. Maranatha !!
Hi! I don't know why are you feeling this way, could be the circumstances or something else or may be just the enemy who wants you to believe that God does not exist. All i can say is that seek Him with all your heart and you will find Him. Even our Master and Lord Himself said "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him" (John 14:23).
Dont ever give up on God, have faith. God Bless you.
@stanhalll I would like to encourage you to pray to God to strengthen your faith in Him and to remove all traces of doubts in your mind and heart that is blocking your communion with God. All of us will go through the "lows" in our lives and this is the time for us to lay our burdens on Jesus to carry us through.

What a coincidence. I visited Singapore in July 1989 when I served in the US Navy.

I just learned to play this on the harp. It doesn't sound anywhere near this good when I play it though. :)
