@furbyford I picked up a couple of sunbeam ones a long while ago to do this. But I don't think they are good at sensing different frequencies. Set to high they just become too sensitive to low frequency sounds. A link to ones similar to what you are using would be great.
@furbyford hey dude how did you time those lights?? I know that they react to sound from the Module but how did you get them to like one to react to base and one to react to the other sounds and ect.. can you make a tut or point a video out I really love your lights and how you set the up, always wanted to do this
@MrLILskate3boy i have 2 modules, they each have sensitivity control, on one i have the sensitivity set high to pick up the little parts of the song, and the other i have it set lower to pick up the louder parts of the song
@furbyford YEY thanks man! Do they automatically come with the lights if you get the kit.. Like the modules do them itself have the controls or do you have to buy a different one for that, Once again Thanks!
Where did you put your sound box thinger, got mine today.... does the volume have to be quite loud? want to get the best effect.... wonder if the boxes have to be close to the speakers...
@H8sch00l lights can be bought from alot of computer stores online. you can also look on ebay. they aren't hard to find. i got mine from crazy pc . com and xoxide . com.
Love that song.. I am in the process of gathering parts for an upcoming build.. after seeing this video I am considering incorporating a more subtle version of what you have done into my current design. Great Job!
@Bossm4nJones in this video, they were glued to the PCI slot's in the back of the case. The whole sound controller was so that it could pick up on the noise outside. Since this video i've rebuilt the computer, and the controller boxes are inside. They don't pick up much fan noise, which is good. All you have to do for sensitivity is turn a little knob on the sound controller until you get the response you like. I have a modular power supply, and i just plugged a 4-pin molex wire in it and use it
@LP93Mongoose okay, green and red are on the same controller, blue is on it's own. on the green/red is have the sensitivity turned down, so it only picks up louder parts of sound, on the blue i have the sensitivity turned up higher so it picks up on sound more easily, thus it flashes more often.
@fireblade1247 yes i have found them but iwant to know how you have made each light flash at different times? and when different sounds are playing? thanks.
@jdcrispe95 you can make them do this by purchasing a sound activated cathode light box. It's like $8-9, you can get them at crazypc or xoxide. just go to their website
How did you make it to where the lights are specific to certain beats? Can you please help me on that cause I really want my lights like yours.. that is genius.
@anime891 All you need is a sound controller, they can be purchased for about $8 at crazypc or xoxide. Just go on their websites and look. Each sound controller can handle 2 sets of lights, and each set has 2 lights. so one sound controller will work for 4 lights, since i have 6 lights i had to use 2 sound controllers. Each contoller has a sensitivity dial so you can adjust weither it picks up high sounds or low sounds
@PyroMania61 yes you can, the controllers are for sale at crazypc and xoxide. you can find them on their websites. you can have steady, flashing, or sound control. they are only like $8 so it's a pretty good deal.
@bmxermitch2010 yeah this is way old lol i made this about a year ago, ive since taken it apart and reran most of the cables do you cant see them, and hey everyone has their own taste in music
nice case man, and for a 15yr old thats not bad at all man. u just gotta adjust the volume censor a bit and maybe move ur speakers if necessary to make it really bump. overall, nice job man. check out some of my vids of my build.
@goliador16 sorry for the late reply, they really arent much of a draw on any power supply. If your using a computer you bought in the last 4-5 years the power supply will probably handle it. most of these use 300+ power supplies. If you built one, depending on your specs, i would reccomend at least 400+ watts. my power supply is 550 watts, and its way plenty
@GawdzA I'm 15, im not rich im a dishwasher lol. when i made the video i had normal computer speakers, but if you turn it up too loud there less effect from the lights. I have a 1000watt 5.1 phillips surround sound system now though.
@67CopperHead yeah ive painted the inside of the case black now, and hooked the lights up differently, so its even more of a pattern. im going to post a new video soon
Great job, really!

I like Cold cathode stuff the problem is that they are really fragile the I have found from personal experience the slightest tap will shatter them.

Are your microphones inside the case, or did you re-solder the microphone outside of the case?
Because those are very sensitive and work very well.
Would you mind sharing your sensitivity settings?
I also have another question.
Did you use the molex pass-through on all of them, or did you plug each PCI switch into it's own molex connector? Because those are very bright.
Thanks.

do you just use 2 sound activation boxes for the 4 cathodes or did you mod your box to allow 4 because I can only connect 2 on mine at a time
