  • I believe this is bad advice, and I'm not impressed with this guy's analyses in general. Make every shot a choice,

  • The pelvis shot is equally as effective as a safety shot as the head... if not moreso.

You have to take the medulla oblongata to shut down the brain instantaneously. If you take the pelvis, the legs won't support or propel the body forward.

if you want to take out the medulla, shoot for the mouth.

Gory stuff, but it's a rough world out there

  • thats for defensive purposes. double taps are just stardard but the third shot is not that common in police cituations

  • what kind of cigars do you smoke?

    love cigars myself.

    always great videos!

  • although i agree that's an effective way to take someone out completely, wouldn't it look like an assassination?

  • So that I am straight on this, the head is too small and too hard to hit with the first shot, but after '2 to center mass' all of a sudden the head shot is going to be easy and a fight ender? Somehow, that does not add up. Is the target going to stand there and let someone line up a perfect shot after getting shot (or shot at) twice? Sounds like square range paper target stuff that is highly unlikely in a real gun fight.

  • The odds are you will be scared and shaky on your first couple of shots, thus we train to shoot at the biggest target on the bad guy: His chest. At this point you should have your eye on the front sight and be able to put the bullet wherever you choose. Again, that's why you train and train and train, so that, when you default to your training, you will be able to end the fight quickly...

  • The 'odds are' that you will get calmer and find your front sight after your first few shots and the bad guy will just stand there while you do that? BULL SHIT. Have you ever even been in any kind of fight, much less a gun fight?

  • @marshallone actually they move much less when you take a double tap to center of mass, so if they dont go down (which does sometimes happen) the head shot is much easier. also, after the double tap you move in closer to the target (a couple of yards maybe) then take the head shot if necessary.

  • B U L L S H I T. You are living in a dream world, too much TV maybe? Or are you just naive?

  • im not naive. ive done this before. usually when you take a double tap, it is in a CQB situation, so you are most likely in a small room no more than a couple of yards away from the target. so missing any part of the targets body is kind of difficult. but you still go for center of mass regardless due to the fact its a bigger target.

  • You have done what before? A shoot house? That is not a gunfight. This lie has been taught for the past 20 years to Police officers and guess what? IN NOT ONE DOCUMENTED POLICE SHOOTING HAS THIS BS BEEN DONE! You produce ONE actual shooting where the officer or Civilian did a double tap center mass and one to the head! The majority of shots fired in actual fights MISS the intended target completely. Now, provide your facts. When and where did you do this in a real fight, Superlickoff?

  • who said i did this in a police environment. i did this in a military shoot house. i had times where i didnt count my shots and ran out of my primary or jammed and switched to my side arm and did what i explained above.

  • Again, son, when you do it in real life, let me know and I am going to want some documentation.

Till then, its just shoot house BULLSHIT. I personally know the man who did it for real and the reasons behind it. It just is not reality in every other shooting I have been involved in or privy too. Carry on.

  • has a police sniper we are trained to shoot for center mass not head shots

  • thats the way i was trained, 2 center mass, 1 head, next target

  • You would only fire to kill if you or someone else's life is in IMEDIATE danger. If (s)he has his gun pointed at someone and its obvious (s)he is going to shoot, kil his/her ass! If (s)he is shooting alreddy, double tap them then finish them off in the head.

  • he never said that

  • dmanwhocan, Cruise actually did extensive tactical pistol training for that movie. His shooting in the movie was very technical and quite proficiant.

  • lol......rotfl!!

  • that scene in Collateral with cruise/fox where he says "yo homey" to those chaps who just took his bag from the back of the cab. Nice double tap to the chest and then one to the head, well reheared by Mr Cruise no doubt, he looked like a Pro...

  • it's called the mozambique drill i believe
