Luckily, it was the digital camera, camcorder that came to the rescue and suppress his acts of violence.

How the students handle the situation was a very good example of unity in a rational way. They stood together without fear to stop the pegawai's car and videos were taken from every angle.They could have used violence on the vehicle but they did not. They just wanted to settle the problem in a peaceful manner and stand up for what is right for every single UPM students. There's a very sharp contrast between the approach the students used and the "technique" the pegawai used in the situation.

He could potentially be held legally responsible if the item was damaged or lost through his negligence (may be intentionally).So now, he holds all the responsible of taking good care of the laptop and if there's a single scratch or information leakage from the student's laptop be prepare to face Court.

In-campus laws were enact by the university, so I doubt the police has the jurisdication to interfere university's law. Actually police don't interpreate laws, court does. They are just there do restore order, not decide what law is right or wrong. They cannot interfere with the case unless someone becomes physical or emotional and a threat.
