I'm watching this for the first time, and it actually doesn't seem too bad. The new design makes it its own show, and though the different voices are a nuisance, there wasn't much of a choice in that matter. I like the old stuff better, but that's easy to say because I saw the 2 original Carebears shows (and movies) at 5 and this as a teenager. I'm willing to see what happens in part 2.
