  • Bass sounds great! Where did you get that shirt?

  • Is that a 60's reissue Fender with a badass bridge or a knockoff? Either way it's a very nice looking bass.

  • @basswulfwhisky Thanks!!! It is a Squire Jazz that looks very similar to the 60's bass...and thats why I bought it.....the original neck was very weak so I bought a good neck on ebay and had to drill the holes myself for the tuners and the bolt lockdown plate....yes it is a Badass Bridge II... I still need to buy a Fender sticker for the head stock someday soon...

  • It nice of you to take the time to do all these lessons.

  • @IGNOREAMUS Thanks I just hope I can help out some...I know I miss a note here and there but you should get the idea.....

  • can put the whole cover up because im trying to learn leons bass runs during the solo

  • @landonhuyyugttdft its the same all the way through...thats why I cut it short.

  • great job Tony...you rock. Leon is proud im sure of it

  • @ritcheyrocker man thanks for that!! :) Leon was the dude!!!

  • Hi Tony, great job on this one ! Cheers from Germany.

  • is the bass part played thru the whole song like that?

  • @euzerinus as far as what I hear it repeats over and over...let me know if you hear something different...

  • Tony, you ROCK that bass!!! One of these days, we have got to hook up and jamm!!!

Hope all is well with you my friend!

    Bobby

  • Thanks Bobby!!!!! Thought I'd get in front of the camera for once...glad you like the jam!

  • you´ve done woman of mine?Ed King´s slide is stunning on that song.

  • yeah I started playin it yesterday actually need a few more run throughs...dude Ed King is the man...I really don't think people know how much he added to Skynyrd beyond SHA...Ed King is a hero to me....

  • Howdy Cat,

Very nicely played sir, you got my vote ♫♪♫♪♪♫

  • Clay all I can say is wow....that's very humbling to read that...I'm speechless.. I do miss Thumper very much...he is a big hero to me...what a cool cat that dude was...truly missed very much..

  • You got it TonyB. Here's some trivia. What songs did they never do studio?

  • Woman of Mine and I think a couple with Steve

  • Well you got me. I never heard of that one, I don't think. I was thinking of Travelin Man, Crossroads, T for Texas & Comin Home. All on One more for the road except Comin Home. I don't know what that was on.

    God Bless Lynyrd Skynyrd.

    Thanks TonyB. Keep 'em comin.

  • ahhh you got me too lol....woman of mine was played at a PR party for a bunch of execs from various record labels...beleive it was recorded on a 8 track board at the convention room..

Comin Home is my all time favorite...what Ed King did to that song is amazing..it was recorded on the first and last album ...that one song is in a book all by itself...

  • Indeed. I love Comin Home. It's on First & Last but it's a live track, right. Cause I don't have First & Last anymore, I don't think. I'll have to look. Have you ever heard One In The SUn done by Steve before he got with Skynyrd?

  • nah comin home is recorded in the studio! its hard to come across live versions of it...but theres a few..

  • yeah Ed went back a year later and did some over dubs...incredible what that guy did with a guitar

  • yep I got the cassette tape still...his wife gave it to me... that dude was just beyond any musical cat I've ever heard...

  • Yep, I've got the cassette.

  • one in the sun is just an incredible tune...Steve was truly talented beyond the stars......

  • Yeah & when I heard it my heart dropped & the tears fell because I knew this was what we had been cheated out of. I found an album(vinyl) of Johnny about 1980 with a cover of "A day in the Life" & I went absolutely bizzerk. I thought "Why am I doing without any Lynyrd Skynyrd R&R with this dude alive?" Right after that Rossington Collins came out which calmed the savage beast temporarily. But it was a blessed blissful day at the Helldogger hooch when they came out with 1"991".
