Actually it was 12% of the population of California that approved this measure. The 4 republican judges did their job and considering the attorneys for prop 22 made the issue not about the proposition, but gay marriage -- the judges had no choice but legalize marriage.

I don't think that they're saying that it's okay for adults to marry children if same-sex marriage is permitted. I think it's saying that the definition of marriage is the legal union between a man and a woman as a husband and wife, and if we allow it to be changed so easily, this may only be the beginning. Don't see anything about gay love in there. If you find it, let me know. Also, I'm not a bigot or hater, since I have gay friends and relatives whom I love. Let's argue this from the stand point that 61% of Californians voted yes on defying marriage as one man and one woman back in 2000. It was 4 San Francisco judges decided to overturn people's choice early this year. Prop 8 is simply to restore Californian's decision.
If you don't agree, go vote no on Prop 8.

Actually it was 12% of the population of California that approved this measure. The 4 republican judges did their job and considering the attorneys for prop 22 made the issue not about the proposition, but gay marriage -- the judges had no choice but legalize marriage.

No one is taking their rights away. Prop 8 is about definition of marriage, not taking away gay people's right. They still entitled to health care benefit as domestic partners in most companies.
Not sure which God you are referring to. The God I belive is from the Bible, and Bible clearly talks about marriage is one man and one woman.

i think "deny the right to.." (as the prop is worded) is pretty self explanatory, somebody rights are being taken away... however you want to see it anything that starts with "deny the right to" (which means they CURRENTLY have the right too) means were taking it away..

It might seem extreme, but such non-traditional unions could use the same poor reasoning to justify all kinds of aberrations. Marriage is not whatever you decide it is. It's an institution protected and upheld by society and civilization for some very important reasons -- one being the creation of offspring, and an ideal environment to raise it. It gives back to society; strengthens and perpetuates it. You can try to ignore morality, but you can't overlook nature and civilization.

FYI, California already allows minors to marry with parental consent.
If marriage is not limited to one man and one woman, it becomes increasingly difficult to deny marriage rights based on incest, polygamy, or minority. Some Scandinavian countries have already legalized these sexual relationships in the wake of legalizing same-sex marriage.
