  • Pearls and cigarettes. Loving her work :P

  • omg she was smoking in almost every interview o_O what a badass!!!!

  • @miss20sa11

... yes, you never saw Bette without a butt. I remember her as an arrogant, militant smoker. If someone objected to her smoking, she told them nice to piss off. That was Bette, her way. Just saying.

  • @cheeriosinabowl Lol I love this woman... she is soooo cool! Love her don't give a damn attitude!!!!! God bless her soul :)

  • Doesn't Anne looks so young a pretty?

  • U had to be a bitch to get to the position she and joan Crawford got to as the top actresses in the world for so many years

  • KOjA CARICA NE ISPUSTA CIGARU IZ RUKU !!!! NAJ KARAKTERNIJA GLUMICA SVIH VREMENA !!!

  • She reminds me of my late Grandmother. They were cut from the same cloth unapologetic and feisty, but with a heart of gold.

  • Divas for ever>>>.....

  • While Joan did make the catty move of asking the other nominees to accept on their behalf if they couldn't make it, Joan didnt really have the clout to "campaign against" Bette.

Besides, that story of Joan keeping the Oscar for a year was proven false while Bette was still alive- Anne Bancroft herself said Joan brought the Oscar to her a little over a week later. There were pictures in the papers showing it, but Bette went along with her version....

  • FORMIDABLE.........

  • " Clutched to her bosom that wasn't even her's" LMAO...classic :-)

  • Always loved Bette.

But I wish she would throw away the friggin cigarette. A real turn-off.

  • @cheeriosinabowl She wouldn't have been Bette Davis WITHOUT the cigarette.....

  • @spide429

... what made it look worse here was she had a stroke and still kept on smoking. I thought maybe she would have tried to give up the cigs because of her condition. But Bette being Bette kept on smoking. I still find it a turn-off to see her smoke. It certainly did not glorify her in any way.

  • @cheeriosinabowl Bett without a fag is not Betty

  • i just love her..celebrities are no longer as classy and smart as these amazing legendly star bette davis marlene dietrich joan crawford...in life once in awhile the universe gives us little presents and bette davis is certainly one of them...keep ur lindsays and britneys and lady gagas...i will take my bette davis ne day!

  • after loosing that Oscar in 1962, Bette spent the rest of her life blaming Joan Crawford for everything

  • Absolutely adore her. too bad she was cursed with such an ungrateful no-talent pusbucket of a daughter.

  • This crazy woman has had a stroke and still has to smoke that cigarette. She would have lived to 110 if she never smoked or drank. Just making it to 81 is a modern science miracle. She was a great actress thou. Thanks Bette

  • @stephen39217 Most likely she felt that at her age it was one pleasure she had left that she would not give up. My father at 75 had breathing problems and needed oxygen yet he continued to smoke-he said at his age it was all he left.

  • She had a set to give a interview so late in her life...

  • look at her at her age.... she was great.... i love her bitchy ways.... and i always will....

  • @MrGaidzak

Can someone tell me, why she would come into our Prime Minister Gillards page and tell me off for using Kate Jacksons profile, which happened to be me mind you. Then said she was going to tell Kate Jackson i was using her profile ?

Then went on to tell me that she was the Queen Elizabeth who now owns the Spelling Mansion. ??

  • I had the great good fortune to see her one woman show in Scarborough in 1975.

  • It's so hard for me to witness this Super Star Icon all Stroked-up, RIP Baby Jane XO Caprice

  • i miss tv host like this .

  • I loved her so much as an actress and to see her become a shell of her former self was sad to watch....SHE STILL IS THE BEST HOLLYWOOD EVER HAD TO OFFER!God love you Bette....

  • NON E' BETTE DAVIS

  • love BD's work but Anne Bancroft DID deserve that oscar...no question. Baby Jane was Ok but Miracle Worker was a classic.

  • Bette still had so much wit and knowledge and verve even up until the end. I'm so glad.

  • Bette and Joan were both very competitive actress but i think they really respected each other, Joan knew Bette was a better actress and Bette knew Joan was more of a Hollwood STAR,and very well liked. The sad thing is they both had daughter's who were jealous of there carriers and wrote scathing book's about them, they both had more in common then they realized. There daughter's should have been proud instead of spoiled rotten brat's.

  • LOL....she is STILL smoking.....she has to be at least 80 years old in this

  • @inkey2 hard habit to break i guess

  • I love Joan Crawford and Bette Davis

  • she looks one inch from death

  • @matthew11and25 yes another marvellous perfomance!!.

  • the crawford story is a lie ..bancroft got the oscar a week after the oscars...lonely bitter woman

  • But it's true that Crawford made sure she would be the one to accept the Oscar if Davis didn't win. This was definitely revenge against Bette. And then Bette, to get revenge against Crawford, turned the cast and crew of Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte against her and caused her to withdraw from the film.

  • @mrbronte100

joan got back at bette and the whole crew of "Hush Hush sweet charlotte" by making them stop production

    wich pissed bette davis off

  • Ha ha! Anne Diamond looks so excited when she talks about the interview at the end. The comment about the dramatic pause is priceless.

  • I would be excited too:) ana Anne seams to be co cute:)

  • Great interview thanks for this upload.

  • Bette was a true legend. Todays actresses will never match her. I loved it when she once said that the most fun she had was pushing Joan Crawford down the stairs in the Baby Jane movie.

  • I love the fact that she was smoking....she carries it off so well!

  • Bette Davis was a bad ass!! and hot back in the day .

  • The new's guy is me !

  • The woman interviewing her looks like Bette when she was younger,

  • I hae bete davis for a book report called all american night at school. I have a book that is 298 pages long. She is really spectacular

  • Yes, Bette Davis was spectacular. You don't find that kind of commitment today. But she suffered greatly in her private life, because of the choices she made in her career.

Reading opens up a whole different world to you that you never dreamed of. Keep on reading.

  • who is the news guy, ithink he is hot

  • she is unique, genuine, great

  • Bette deserved that Oscar, in fact, to me she won it! Leave Betty alone! She deserved that Oscar but no, they gave it that Crawford one!Leave her aloneeeeeeee!XDDD

    I mean it!

  • I completely agree!

  • My God...5 cigs in 25 mins. Spose I could do that too tho.

  • LOl

    she is RAW cool CHICK!

    dont u love the 90s

i miss it so much :(

  • I miss the 90's too! However, Bette died in 1989 so this must have been the 80's. She actually died 19 years ago today.

  • Bette was and still is one of the best actresses ever! Even in her twilight years she is a commanding woman

  • that is the funniest comment ever!

  • Those were the days when you could smoke in a TV interview. How relaxing. Strange....shouldn't Anne Diamond be dead from passive smoking by now?

    Bette...what a star!

  • when was this

  • Twenty past eight

  • LOL very funny but what year?

  • Poor Bette, she hated the ageing process, she fought to the end, she was my idol, good, bad and everything inbetween. an amazing forceful unique woman....

  • Joan died first in 1977, and Bette died in 1989, joan would have been dead when this interview took place i'm thinking this was 87 or 88 after Bette had the stroke

  • she is an absolute icon, even after the stroke and the dishonesty of her daughter which she said devastated her she continued to work and act and do interviews shes a legend!!!!

  • it's interesting to see her bravery in the face of aging and illness... whereas Marlene Dietrich didn't even allow some of her closest friends and colleagues to come and see her - and here we have Davis showing old age to the entire world. wonderful.

  • but sadelly marlene was not a good actres as bette

  • Bette Davis wasn't an actress.

    She is THE actress.

  • Garbo was an incredible actress but I prefer Bette Davis and the italian Anna Magnani...

  • Bette Davis was THE greatest actress of ALL TIME.

  • @nandesneto Well, Greta Garbo or Katherine Hepburn have something to say too.

  • Bette matched her appearance to whatever role she was playing, no matter how unattractive she was. She was an actress of the highest caliber. No one matched her. Garbo, a classic beauty, always had to appear attractive in whatever role she appeared. Garbo was more a star, than an actress, although some of her work was commendable.

  • Marlene was a paranoid narcissist you twit! Bette had enough class to go on camera despite the physical damage by stroke. She continued living not pretending she was still a glamour puss!

  • But Bette's image and Marlene's image were so different. Bette was an actress till the end, Marlene was more of an entertainer and her looks were important to her. I know Bette admired Marlene a lot because of all the work Marlene did at the Hollywood Canteen (she mentions it in the interview with Joan Rivers)

  • what year was this, anybody??

I'm guessing the latter part of the eighties as this was how she looked after her series of strokes.

  • Poor Bette she looked as if she were removed from her coffin for the interview.I guess she was gravelly ill of cancer several years before her final disease in 1989 at 81.

  • who died first? Joan C. or Bette D? this interview Joan still exist?

  • Joan died first in 1977, long before this interview.

  • What a Legend....RIP....

  • wot a lady a good actor the best a bitch but good at it a diva rip xxx

  • She is such a great actress and a really cool person.. We don't have any more like Bette and Joan..I miss Bette !!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISS DAVIS !LOVE YOU.adam

  • happy 100th birthday, Miss Davis. x
