I would have taken full advantage of your half volleys/rising shots and your alley :]

your half volleys give the returner a nice, no spin, volley deep into your baseline and your alley is opening wide

I give alley alot so I leave it to you--BUT it is the higher part of the net, you will probably have to change direction, and my no spin shot has very little pace so you have to add the pace--but if you hit it more than once, I'll bait you. BUT that's doubles isn't it

nope. I was fine. If I'm on the baseline, the odds of me getting to a ball are much lower--I can't intersect with my partner--meaning I cover 13 feet and he covers 13 feet. at the net, once it heads toward him, IF i can get it, I'll get it. I cover 20 feet at the net--IF I miss, he'll get it plus I have more presence at the net--they have to go for a better shot or I'll tag it. IF I were at the baseline, they could loft a easy one to him. He can't really hurt them so they would.
