lol he said sumthing that wuz bad bout themselves that proves that texas is better that OU gets all there playas 4rm texas cause noone comes out of OU
@kingali4life haha oh really everybody 4rm texas does thats the best skool in the state thats y they get almost all the 5 star recuits 4rm texas dumb ass
@haloguy3377 wow maybe you should read up a little on your schools recruiting board cause texass doesnt get even close to "all five star recruits" ass monkey, learn how to spell as well, fucking dip shit texan, the only reason why people recruit from texas is because the south generates better athletes, and if you want to get technical about this shit, WHO THE HELL JUST LET OUT 4 OF THE TOP 21 FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICKS, a school who produces better athletes than texass...BOOMER
@puzzleboy2 and if it wasnt for OKLAHOMA those athletes wouldnt become much of anything. so whether they come from texas or california, south carolina or canada its the school who produces and makes them stars, doesnt matter where you come from all that matters is the school you choose BOOMER SOONER MOTHA FUCKA 5-0
@kingali4life True, but you can't make diamonds out of dog crap. These players were good even before they chose their college, so credit must be given there. There are no better high school football programs than the ones in Texas.
@puzzleboy2 Yeah and how many highschool STARS turned out to be a bust? the high school doesnt make the player, you are either born with it or you arent, lets look at it this way, all mid south states recruit from texas, just like all western states recruit from California, and eastern from florida, it has nothing to do with players being good from that certain state, just who has "more" to go around. yeah point is they CHOOSE Oklahoma over texas..and that my friend is a PERIOD.
We're not talking about the high school stars that were busts, we're talking about the ones that make the top football programs what they are. Hypothetically, let's assume that the NCAA imposed a rule that stated that NCAA football programs were only allowed to recruit within their own state, and that athletes could only play their sport for the school in their own state. Can you imagine what the difference in talent would be between the UT team and the OU team? That's all I'm saying.
@puzzleboy2 The difference wouldn't be very much, because you dont hear most of the talent that goes to schools around the US, Oklahoma produces as much talent as Texas, just most talent goes to OK State, Tulsa and other schools, if that rule were made then Oklahoma would have a ton of talent in state, just like with Texas and all other schools, but that isn't the case, nor will it ever be the case, so what you say is irrelevant to the discussion.
@kingali4life Clearly that will never happen. It's ridiculous to suggest that it will. But I brought that into question because the state of Texas as a whole has the best high school football programs and produces a large part of the top high school football athletes in the US. Yes, Oklahoma does have talent, but it's reasonable to suggest that there is more talent in Texas.
@puzzleboy2 Clearly the only reason for that is the size of the state, Texas is a hell of a lot bigger than Oklahoma is, so have room for more high schools, although I would not say the state in whole has better high school programs, just in certain areas where the kids come from, but even then it isnt the high school who makes them, seeing as it is the transition from high school to college is a lot harder to deal with, it takes a great college to get these kids ready to become the great aswell
@kingali4life What I'm saying is that the TALENT that comes from these schools has to play some role in making these players successful in college. Miles Austin went to Monmouth University of all places and look what he's doing right now in the NFL. Some of the greatest players in both college and NFL history have come from the Texas state system. That's the point I'm trying to make.
@puzzleboy2 but your point is half wrong, it doesnt have anything to do with the state, nor the highschool, do you think Tim Tebow, Colt McCoy, or Sam Bradford would have been any different if they all three came just from texas? lets look at it this way, Tebow and Bradford not from texas both Heisman winners, McCoy from texas went to texas and...nothing...same goes for most of the texas team, its the college not the high school, i mean look at half of the walk ons that do great...
@kingali4life Actually, McCoy is from New Mexico. Hobbs, to be exact. And of course there are standout athletes that do not hail from Texas. But what I was trying to say is that so many Texas-born athletes have accomplished great things in both college and the NFL. I don't think it's unreasonable to say that half of making a great player is his roots (where he comes from, his training in HS, etc.) and the other half is his training in college.
@puzzleboy2 ah see see lol, but still not completely true, cause one of my friends never even played in high school was a walk on at Utah and played well, its either you are good at it or you arent, sure you accomplish more if you play in high school, but it doesnt really matter what high school you play for, i mean one of my other friends played for my old high school and we won 1 game and he went on to do wonders at Tulsa. So yeah you are right, but at the same time wrong...
@kingali4life Of course, cases like that are true, but it would definitely help more (in theory) if the player in question played for a strong high school program, which are abundant in Texas. But that's not to say that cases like the ones you mentioned are impossible.
@puzzleboy2 yeah, lets just agree that we are both right on this lol and lets talk about texas knocking off nebraska today...go longhorns...now let me go scrub my tongue lol...no but really thank you longhorns for showing that the corn chuckers are nothing when you stop the run...
@kingali4life Oh yeah, I was really surprised when UT went up 20-3 in the third quarter. Sure, they gave up that 95-yard punt return, but in the end they pulled off the upset. I wonder how many Nebraska fans have indigestion from eating so much crow...
@puzzleboy2 Yeah, i wasnt so surprised because of the twp weeks of preparation they had for this game, i was more surprised of the conservative call to just take a 14 point lead at half, that punt return was just sickening, they should have just taken the field goal, or at least went for it, but oh well it was a nice win..and possibly takes nebraska out of the big 12 championship on their way out the door...
@kingali4life Yeah, now it looks like Mizzou will represent the North this year. I'm just happy that UT won, after all the Nebraska fans were talking up a storm before the game.
@puzzleboy2 well, dont think so just yet, Mizzou might take the north, but still has to get through the number 1 BCS team in the nation Oklahoma next week, not to mention they still have to beat Nebraska, but then again depends on if Nebraska can get by Oklahoma State,if OK State beats NU saturday, OU beats mizzou and mizzou losing to Nebraska, we might be seeing a tie for the north. ahh brings back memories of the triple tie from 2008.. =}
@kingali4life Oh boy, I remember that. As a UT fan, I'm going for Mizzou next week, but if everything goes as you said, it should be interesting to watch. At least our teams wouldn't be involved in it this time LOL.
@puzzleboy2 lol Mizzou doesnt have the horsepower to take out Oklahoma, it will be close, but i rank FSU higher than Missouri, and we seen what happened there..yeah luckily our teams arent involved, and this will be the last year of the big 12 championship so all is good, although ill miss that last game, all they need to do is get rid of baylor and bring in some good teams and get a better conference going.
@kingali4life Oh man, imagine the Big 12 getting Arkansas from the SEC and possibly TCU from the Mountain West....Will never happen, but imagine what would happen if it did.
@puzzleboy2 I could see more of a BYU, and TCU, or maybe even a Boise St, wouldnt count on an SEC team coming over, since the SEC is somewhat more prestigious than the Big 12, but i would love to have a non-AQ team, since Utah is going to the pac-10, i know boise is going to the MWC but would love to see a turn around and come to the big 12, and if anyone would come to the big 12 you can bank on it being TCU because they said "IF" they were to recruit more teams they would want teams from Texas.
@kingali4life Not to mention all the new in-conference rivalries that would spring up. Imagine Texas-TCU and OU-TCU every year. It would definitely make the conference much more interesting.
@puzzleboy2 oh yeah, and give it a lot more prestige, not to mention get these cry baby fans an opportunity to see their teams finally get a chance at a BCS National...tired of hearing them complain cause their teams get passed up.
@puzzleboy2 Oh yeah fully agree with you there, the conference and most importantly the fans, i mean to have your school with an automatic bid to the BCS is completely outstanding, and will turn a good crowd into a great one...and like you said, the rivalries. But lets see how well next year turns out, with a 10 team conference, who knows we might like it, then again it also gives them more time for recruiting other teams to it..
@kingali4life Exactly. TCU to the Big 12 is basically a win-win situation. They get an automatic BCS bid, and the conference gets another elite team, which makes for some intense rivalries. And of course, these rivalries get on national TV and earn the Big 12 more money. It couldn't possibly hurt for the Frogs to join the Big 12.
@puzzleboy2 Nope and with UT's new television network, it would produce even more revenue, although i do believe the Frogs would suffer a bit, but we need more dominant teams in the Big 12, just like with all of the rising teams in the SEC our conference has been lacking big teams, i mean in my opinion we have more "qualified" big teams than the SEC, but we dont get the respect, mainly because Oklahoma and Texas dominate over all other teams..TCU would greatly benefit Big 12...we should petition
@kingali4life TCU would certainly help out the conference, even if they suffer. In order to compete with the SEC, the conference needs another powerhouse like Texas and OU to generate competition within the conference. The conference really needs TCU to meet those standards.
@puzzleboy2 Yeah most definitely...ugh that sucks Oklahoma lost, but whatever its a blessing in disguise...no pressure being number one and we wont drop back too far...and damn what happened to Texas...losing to ISU is NEVER ok lol.
@kingali4life Yeah, imagine my surprise when I return from two days out of town to find that UT lost to Iowa State. Texas losing to ISU in football is like the Undertaker losing to Justin Bieber in wrestling, LOL. Hopefully Gilbert and Greg Davis can get their crap together before things get worse. We might have to sneak Colt McCoy into Gilbert's jersey and pretend to be him just so we can start winning games again.
@puzzleboy2 lmao, yeah definitely, but hey look at it this way, Texas will be really good next year, just look what happened last year to OU, then we come back and win 6 straight...but Texas better watch out cause we will be even better next year too...
@kingali4life Yeah, I hope Texas bounces back like OU did this year. And hopefully, so will Greg Davis and Garrett Gilbert. Next year's RRR should be a good one.
@puzzleboy2 they will, Texas isnt known for having two bad seasons, Oklahoma is having a good year, but still isnt a full force, come next year when the secondary grows up we will be good, but we lose Broyles and Murray, so we will have to see about the offense...The RRR is always a good one, no matter what lol...
@kingali4life Yeah, every team has its rebuilding years. OU had one last year, and it's apparently UT's turn this year. Next year Gilbert will be a junior, hopefully he can improve on his gameplay by then. Even in the win against Nebraska, he looked terrible. He had a 25% completion percentage in that game if I'm not mistaken.
Speaking of rebuilding years, I with I could say the same for the Cowboys. Talk about terrible. LOL
@kingali4life Hopefully, HOPEFULLY, Gilbert can get back on track and attempt to fill Colt's shoes the way Colt filled VY's.
The Cowboys were pretty bad before Romo broke his collarbone. Now, it's just a matter of seeing how many wins we can manage to squeeze out for the rest of the year.
@puzzleboy2 Eh i dont see him being able to fill Colts shoes, but in his own way will be able to manage, and if he cant then im pretty sure Colt's little brother is willing and able to..
Yeah, im not too much of a cowboys fan anymore, never really liked them, i kind of jump from team to team right now.
@puzzleboy2 Yeah.i wouldnt really say colt was a beast but he was pretty good, except when he got hit then he was weak..have a friend who played him last year when they took on Wyoming said he hit Mccoy and he just laid there haha, but yeah maybe his little bro can pick up th slack that Gilbert is leaving around.
Well pretty much every team needs help right now, the Cowboys need some real play makers, and a new season before they become any better. they need to kick Romo in the ass or something
@puzzleboy2 lol...uhh...i didnt see much of it, mainly cause it wasnt on where im at, but from what i did see, Texas got owned by Baylor...never thought id say this but im kind of scared about the game against Baylor lol....lets see how Ok State holds up...
@kingali4life It would seem that the days of Baylor being an automatic win on everyone's schedule have passed. If Baylor beats OU, I'll start biting my nails for next year. LOL
@puzzleboy2 lol i completely agree with you, but hmm we will have to see, they almost beat us last year, but we sucked last year, Texas sucks this year, and they got beat, lets just wait and see haha
@kingali4life LOL of course. But it seems that you can't overlook Baylor anymore...All we need is for A&M to get its act together and the South can be filled with perennial competitors.
@puzzleboy2 yes and i also heard on ESPN about talks with TCU to join the big 12, not sure if they were saying they should or if they were saying the Big 12 commissioner was in talks, but all i know is the Big 12 is making its way back...
@puzzleboy2 Well, now i hear that the big 12 is serious about not expanding, and sticking with just the 10 teams, and within five years is looking to merge with either the big ten or the pac-10...depending of course on if the play-off thing catches on...ugh im so confused, lol
@puzzleboy2 lol its funny i was thinking the same thing haha, i think they will switch names...or maybe they will stick with the names, or get new ones....lol confusing...wow what happened to Texas and Oklahoma, both got dominated lol
@kingali4life Yeah, it was a terrible Saturday for both teams. I sort of expected UT to lose given their bad season and the fact that K-State seems to have their number in recent years, but I have no idea what happened to OU. I was looking at the weekly scores and I was like WTF?
@puzzleboy2 well, i knew it was going to happen, Oklahoma isnt playing the best football, they have either gotten "lucky", or they have played teams of less importance...oh well i was watching the freshmen play and wow, we have some talent for next year...
@kingali4life Next year should be better, both for UT and the Cowboys. I tell you, it's been a rough year for me as a sports fan. Can't wait until Texas-OU 2010!
@puzzleboy2 You mean Texas-OU 2011 right? lol cause we seen what happened in 2010, dont worry oklahoma will dominate then as well, i just dont believe (given Texas' horrible QB) that they can beat oklahoma, but whatever, and i know what you mean, being a sports fan isnt great when your team starts losing, but at least we are true to our teams and not bounce back and fourth when they start losing.
@kingali4life Oh yeah, I meant 2011. And you never know. Maybe Gilbert can step up his game next year and make it a great game. Texas-OU games (for the most part) are usually close anyway.
It's been tough seeing people jump ship like they have. At least now we can see who the true fans are.
@puzzleboy2 yeah, either way the RRR is always entertaining to watch, especially when UT and OU have high powered offenses lol, we will have to see, this year was kind of a let down, and it looks like the losing isnt over for Texas, with Okie State in two days and TAMU shortly after..both of them will more than likey destroy texas from the inside out..
Yeah it has been tough, but the true fans shine brightly here, even when OU went 8-5 i still showed Pride in my team.
@kingali4life This shall pass, however. UT isn't known to do poorly two years in a row. Part of it is (and this applies to last year's OU team as well) that the fans are spoiled by victory. Of course, 4-5 isn't a favorable record for any team, but it hits harder when you have a prestigious program like Texas or OU that is accustomed to winning. The sad thing is that with OSU and A&M still on the schedule, I don't even think UT will make a bowl this year....
@puzzleboy2 I agree completely with you, everybody expects a fantastic winning season every year, and it is just impossible, every team has a rebuilding year and they cant feed the fans the wins like they want.....wow another loss for Texas, i think Mac should replace Gilbert, he doesnt want to because he doesnt want to show he has lost faith in his QB, but i mean he just isnt producing, and with TAMU coming up, i feel sorry for you guys...
@kingali4life I know. This team has been painful to watch this year. Gilbert is performing terribly. He only has two multiple-TD games this year, and of course there was the 5-INT debacle against K-State.
This team reminds me of last year's Nebraska team in that they're basically dead on the offensive side of the ball. The main difference is, the '09 Huskers had a stellar defense and managed to win some games. I wouldn't be surprised if Florida Atlantic gives UT some trouble next week.
@puzzleboy2 Im a little nervous with the next two games, IDK if the Sooners can win away from home, they lost to Mizzou who isnt that bad, then to TAMU, who again isnt that bad, but struggled against a crap Cincinnati team lol, ugh and this is a pretty good Baylor team, and we already know that Ok State is doing very well this year....might turn out bad after all lol
@kingali4life Baylor is good, but so is OU this year. It should make for an interesting game. And as for OK State, well, you never know. Look what happened last year. OSU was excellent, OU was mediocre, and yet they still won by 27.
@puzzleboy2 yeah it will be interesting, but again terrifying since its a road game... Yeah OU shut em out in Bedlam, but at the same time it was a home game and Oklahoma hasnt lost a home game since 2005, this is going to be a road test, better team wins i suppose lol.
@puzzleboy2 well you never know Texas did upset Nebraska, idk if you guys are getting some of your injured players back or not, so who knows they could take out A&M...dont give up so soon, it looks bad, but it could always be worse, any bets on if Mack quits after this year?
@kingali4life I don't think Mack will quit. Greg Davis, maybe, but not Mack. It mainly has to do with the team's talent and chemistry. I mean, Gilbert isn't exactly the best QB out there, and our defense has been torched for a few 30+ point games this year. Last year, Mack had Colt McCoy to work with and they went to the NC game. In 2005, he had Vince Young and they WON the NC game. It's all a matter of the talent/chemistry the team has. Mack is a great coach, I don't think he'll quit this year.
@puzzleboy2 well, i wasnt meaning much because of the team, more because hes been looking to retire, and this would seem about the right time, just go out while you still can, im pretty sure Muschamp will be a good head coach.
@kingali4life Maybe he can pull a Jason Garrett (although Mack is by far a better coach than Wade was) and lead the 'Horns to victory in 2011. It could definitely happen.
@puzzleboy2 Yeah most definitely, well it was a pretty good day in football saturday, both our teams won by a good margin, although Texas wont be making a bow appearance this year unless they manage to beat A&M which isnt unlikely seeing as it is its a rivalry game and plus its the Big 12 South which makes for some good football, im looking forward to Thanksgiving and for the Saturday that follows...
@kingali4life I'm just happy UT won, LOL. Although they probably will lose to A&M and finish the year 5-7. I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving as well, but not because of the 'Horns. With a year like this, it's hard to look forward to much of anything...
@puzzleboy2 well its nice to see (even though we dont agree, or go for the same team, as a matter of fact complete opposites lol) that no matter what happens there is another who sticks true to their team, i guess its something about Southern football, and southern fans, we have school spirit, no matter where we live, i mean im in Utah right now, i live like not even a mile from BYU and when they started losing EVERYONE started switching to Utah lol, how lame is that.
@kingali4life It's really disappointing when these "fans" jump ship because their team is having a bad year. I've counted quite a few Cowboys "fans" who have switched teams because they're down this year. I just find this fair-weather attitude pathetic.
@puzzleboy2 Yeah i agree, mm well UT's season is over, but what a helluva run they gave TAMU, it was a pretty good game for the most part, but just like OU you cant be turning the ball over in the red zone..oh well better season next year most definitely, cant wait for Bedlam saturday, or Arizona v. Oregon, wait and Bama v Auburn...gonna be exciting..
@kingali4life Hey, at least they weren't blown out like they had been in their other losses. Still, they should improve on their record next year. They have the entire offseason in front of them, seeing as how they won't be playing in a bowl game this year.
@puzzleboy2 Yeah thats true, but still this year was a shocker, and tonights games were a complete surprise, i expected at least one upset, lets see if Nevada can do something right now lol...doesnt look good though down what might be 17-0 in a second.
@kingali4life What a win by Nevada in OT. Of course, this means that Boise won't have a shot at a BCS bowl game this year. It's not fair, but this is why we need a playoff system so that teams like Boise and TCU have a chance to prove themselves.
@puzzleboy2 I dont really believe in a playoff system, leave that to the pros, but we do need a refined version of the BCS, you know cause what worked several years ago, just isnt working now because of all the talent these schools are bringing in. a playoff would still keep deserving schools from playing in a final big game, mainly because of a bad game or two. I dont believe Boise should be taken out of a BCS bowl, but dont think they deserve a big bowl game either. due to strength of schedule
@kingali4life That's true. Still, it would be nice to have a system in which all teams have an equal chance to play for a championship, regardless of which conference they play in. If they could somehow integrate this with the current bowl system, it would basically be the perfect postseason setup.
@puzzleboy2 Well id like to see the BCS gone, and some conferences joined like the WAC, MAC, MWC and C-USA with the bigger conferences...making them bigger and giving more competition, having more of a selection of big bowl games, putting smaller teams who dont get the chance to showcase talent against bigger teams who always get the chance to, and of course a National Championship with a revamped ranking system... in this way a ton of people win, and better recruiting for smaller schools...
@puzzleboy2 Yes exactly what i was thinking, it would drastically improve things..
yeah i know right, the big east should only recruit from the east lol, but whatever all they wanted was the television market for the dallas-fortworth areas, which, if they get TCU, they get those markets and have the fifth largest market in the US...so that means bigger recruitment, and more tv time for big east teams
@kingali4life Oh well, the Frogs are going to the Big East now. Wouldn't be surprised if the ACC starts picking up teams from the West Coast, and the SEC starts getting schools from the Northwest. TCU just doesn't make any sense in the Big East, but the dollar rules over all in college football.
@puzzleboy2 I agree, its complete nonsense, i like the big 12 because everything is geographic, i wouldnt mind seeing Arkansas and all that in the Big 12, or maybe Tulsa, possibly Houston, but there is nothing to gain with any of them except for Arkansas, they can add some more southern schools because i heard Oklahoma and Okie State had agreed to move to the North as long as the RRR could stay intact. the north needs a couple of powerhouses.
@kingali4life I agree that Arkansas would be a great fit for the conference. The North does need powerhouse teams, at least in football. They're already solid as far as basketball goes.
Although if the Big East is going to trash geography in favor of cash, why doesn't the Big 12 go after Boston College or Penn State? It would make about as much sense as what the Big East did recently. LOL
@puzzleboy2 Yes, the North is pretty good with other sports other than football, they just lack severely in that area.
I dont really know how much the big 12 would gain with BC but PSU would be good, but i agree with what you are saying, if money rules then why not? lol
@kingali4life Exactly. We should just throw cash at whoever is available. The conferences could then pool their money together and petition the NFL to demote the Panthers to the NCAA. Might as well, right? LOL
@puzzleboy2 Lol thats some funny stuff, but completely true, well today was the last of the Big 12 Championship game (for now) and I think Oklahoma gave Nebraska a very good kick in the ass on the way out, its nice to see an old rivalry come to a dramatic end, and what a very nice end it was, bye bye Nebraska.
@kingali4life Not to mention the sting of being kicked out by the Longhorns as well, the team they wanted to beat so much. Ah well, now they have to deal with OSU, PSU, and Michigan State next year. HAHAHAHA
@puzzleboy2 lol exactly, i find this is going to be a very quick FAIL on NU's part, they should have stuck with it, but oh well, ten teams isnt gonna be so bad, seeing as it is we get to play all nine conference teams, cant wait for next year.
@puzzleboy2 lol, well KSU will get owned next year, they wont be able to handle UT at all...not with the way this year went..Brown isnt going to lay down and take this defeat.
@puzzleboy2 yeah that is true lol, but i have confidence (even though i hate all that is texas) that they will have a great team for the next few years.
@puzzleboy2 yeah it is always fun, because even when one team is spectacular and the other is so-so, they both give their all and the outcome is usually surprising. Next year is going to be great because that game will more than likely decide the big 12 champ.
@puzzleboy2 lol Well the Sooners might have to shut you down, but dont be surprised if thats the only loss UT has next year. Its time for another winning streak lol
@puzzleboy2 lol yes yes of course haha, but dont be surprised when the Sooners cook up some bevo for post game celebration haha...So Mark Cuban trying to pay and make way for a Playoff system..
@puzzleboy2 lol well its a good thing it never gets cold in texas, you know with all the hot air you guys let out haha..
lol yeah i can see, but hey if he wants to push the playoff, he made me change my mind with his points, im all for it now...just to shove it up the SEC's ass...
@puzzleboy2 yeah that one would have been good if it werent already used for Texas and Kansas haha...
yeah i completely agree, then again im still angry about the last time Oklahoma played Oregon when the refs screwed Oklahoma, but whatever if they win it ill be happy.
Yeah that is true..the SEC is what the Pac-10 and USC were six years ago... im pretty sure the refs are going to be biased but whatever, Oregon just cant give up a huge lead, Newton is a good QB, i just dont think its right he didnt get punished for what his father did, anybody else from any other conference would have, the SEC just wanted one of their teams in the National.
@kingali4life It should be a high-octane battle of offenses. Oregon for obvious reasons, and Auburn for their dynamic QB Scam (uh, oh, um, I mean CAM) Newton and their 42.7 points per game. I'm tired of this SEC supremacy! Let's go Oregon!
@puzzleboy2 Agreed, its time for a change, The SEC is nothing with out its three rings....LSU who got in with two losses Bama who actually did deserve it and Florida who rode the fag Tebow from day 1. and since Florida is out we replace them with a cheap cheating Auburn team who without the miracle of the SEC fagboys wouldnt be where they are right now.
@kingali4life The SEC is top-heavy as it is. Sure, you have Auburn, 'Bama, LSU, and that's about it as far as "elite" teams go. Who else is there? South Carolina? They got destroyed in the conference title game by the media's golden boy Newton and his team. Let the SEC homers say what they will about their rings, take away the conference's top three teams and the SEC is suddenly mediocre.
@puzzleboy2 Yup completely, I just think because of the Media, and the way society is today, other deserving conferences as in the MWC, hell even C-USA has some pretty good teams that dont get recognition because of the Media whore SEC, I honestly couldnt give a rats ass about 90% of that conference, they are just as good as any other conference with two to three powerhouse teams, people are just blind.
@kingali4life Or Large 10, or Great 10, or Big 10 Part 2, or whatever else the conference is going to be called after Nebraska and Colorado jump ship. LOL
But I do see what you're saying. TAMU actually did well this year, so it should make for some interesting competition next year. Hopefully the Longhorns, who lost basically everyone from their coaching staff (with the exception of Mack) can figure out how to rebuild from this rather disappointing year.
Whats going to be interesting is the fact we play EVERYONE in the conference, so if KState, or Mizzou want to play, let em bring it, for the most part (until they recruit two more teams) the original Big 12 South will still dominate, which of course i bring up the fact about recruiting teams, because if they cant recruit from the north, Oklahoma and okie State agreed to leave the south, if rivalries stay intact. lets hope for the best for Texas.
@puzzleboy2 Well looks like the South had to pick up the slack from the north, nice win for OU, OSU, and TT, lets go TAMU...kind of pissed about the SEC 3 ring powerhouses equaling their losses last night, but oh well, Whats going on with Texas as of late, losing a ton of staff, that isnt going to be good for next year..well who knows.
@kingali4life Hey look, OU won a BCS bowl game for the first time since the Stone Age! Hell just froze over!
No, but that was really a good win for OU, they thoroughly dominated UConn. Now it would have been a different story if it were women's basketball, but unfortunately for the Huskies it wasn't.
At this point, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Mack Brown retired and Garrett Gilbert transfers to another school. Hell, throw in the AD and the university president while we're at it!
Boy, I hope Oregon beats the hell out of Auburn. I've had it with hearing "SEC" at the end of every championship game. I don't recall the Saints fans yelling "NFC South" when they won the Super Bowl.
@puzzleboy2 Yep he does..thats what makes him such a great coach.
I agree, im tired of hearing it every week..maybe this is the year of change, i mean Texas had a losing season, Oklahoma won a BCS bowl game, and Oregon is in their first National, so...maybe the so called "winds of change" are blowing through collegiate football. All i know is we need Ohio State, TAMU, Pitt, and Oregon to win so we can shut the SEC up completely. or at least 3 of the 4 lol.
@puzzleboy2 Well we were hoping, Im already tired of the "five in-a-row) rants going on, pretty much just talking trash abut every other conference. But the way i see it, the SEC and Auburn cheated their way into the National, they said it was all settled with newton and his dad, but right after Auburns win its "back under investigation" lol wtf? Oh well its being said OU is the team to beat next season, we will see, maybe The Big 12 can dethrone the SEC..
I think the Red RIver Rivalry is a toss up this year. Texas has alot of missing players but their play calling will most likely be much like it was the year before and thus be some what predictable. OU has alot of new players as well and hopefully will have some rising stars. With Bradford back with Madu and Broyles, they could be stellar or they could be average. Depends on how hard these two teams are willing to play to win it this year!
I love the rivalry and want to beat texas, but I also have the utmost respect for their program too, its a great program and i'd go to school there. The cheerleaders have the best outfits too damn! So the only classlessness is you hombre. Where is your sportsmanship? Talking trash doesn't mean you have to hate. Boomer Sooner Super Sam is coming back!!!

@haloguy3377 uhmmm no pretty much NOBODY FROM TEXAS WANTS TO PLAY FOR TEXASS dumb ass, we can tell where you are from..
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life haha oh really everybody 4rm texas does thats the best skool in the state thats y they get almost all the 5 star recuits 4rm texas dumb ass
haloguy3377 1 year ago
@haloguy3377 wow maybe you should read up a little on your schools recruiting board cause texass doesnt get even close to "all five star recruits" ass monkey, learn how to spell as well, fucking dip shit texan, the only reason why people recruit from texas is because the south generates better athletes, and if you want to get technical about this shit, WHO THE HELL JUST LET OUT 4 OF THE TOP 21 FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICKS, a school who produces better athletes than texass...BOOMER
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Produces better athletes? Even if they did, where do you think the overwhelming majority of those athletes come from?
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 and if it wasnt for OKLAHOMA those athletes wouldnt become much of anything. so whether they come from texas or california, south carolina or canada its the school who produces and makes them stars, doesnt matter where you come from all that matters is the school you choose BOOMER SOONER MOTHA FUCKA 5-0
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life True, but you can't make diamonds out of dog crap. These players were good even before they chose their college, so credit must be given there. There are no better high school football programs than the ones in Texas.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Yeah and how many highschool STARS turned out to be a bust? the high school doesnt make the player, you are either born with it or you arent, lets look at it this way, all mid south states recruit from texas, just like all western states recruit from California, and eastern from florida, it has nothing to do with players being good from that certain state, just who has "more" to go around. yeah point is they CHOOSE Oklahoma over texas..and that my friend is a PERIOD.
kingali4life 1 year ago
We're not talking about the high school stars that were busts, we're talking about the ones that make the top football programs what they are. Hypothetically, let's assume that the NCAA imposed a rule that stated that NCAA football programs were only allowed to recruit within their own state, and that athletes could only play their sport for the school in their own state. Can you imagine what the difference in talent would be between the UT team and the OU team? That's all I'm saying.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 The difference wouldn't be very much, because you dont hear most of the talent that goes to schools around the US, Oklahoma produces as much talent as Texas, just most talent goes to OK State, Tulsa and other schools, if that rule were made then Oklahoma would have a ton of talent in state, just like with Texas and all other schools, but that isn't the case, nor will it ever be the case, so what you say is irrelevant to the discussion.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Clearly that will never happen. It's ridiculous to suggest that it will. But I brought that into question because the state of Texas as a whole has the best high school football programs and produces a large part of the top high school football athletes in the US. Yes, Oklahoma does have talent, but it's reasonable to suggest that there is more talent in Texas.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Clearly the only reason for that is the size of the state, Texas is a hell of a lot bigger than Oklahoma is, so have room for more high schools, although I would not say the state in whole has better high school programs, just in certain areas where the kids come from, but even then it isnt the high school who makes them, seeing as it is the transition from high school to college is a lot harder to deal with, it takes a great college to get these kids ready to become the great aswell
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life What I'm saying is that the TALENT that comes from these schools has to play some role in making these players successful in college. Miles Austin went to Monmouth University of all places and look what he's doing right now in the NFL. Some of the greatest players in both college and NFL history have come from the Texas state system. That's the point I'm trying to make.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 but your point is half wrong, it doesnt have anything to do with the state, nor the highschool, do you think Tim Tebow, Colt McCoy, or Sam Bradford would have been any different if they all three came just from texas? lets look at it this way, Tebow and Bradford not from texas both Heisman winners, McCoy from texas went to texas and...nothing...same goes for most of the texas team, its the college not the high school, i mean look at half of the walk ons that do great...
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Actually, McCoy is from New Mexico. Hobbs, to be exact. And of course there are standout athletes that do not hail from Texas. But what I was trying to say is that so many Texas-born athletes have accomplished great things in both college and the NFL. I don't think it's unreasonable to say that half of making a great player is his roots (where he comes from, his training in HS, etc.) and the other half is his training in college.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 ah see see lol, but still not completely true, cause one of my friends never even played in high school was a walk on at Utah and played well, its either you are good at it or you arent, sure you accomplish more if you play in high school, but it doesnt really matter what high school you play for, i mean one of my other friends played for my old high school and we won 1 game and he went on to do wonders at Tulsa. So yeah you are right, but at the same time wrong...
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Of course, cases like that are true, but it would definitely help more (in theory) if the player in question played for a strong high school program, which are abundant in Texas. But that's not to say that cases like the ones you mentioned are impossible.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 yeah, lets just agree that we are both right on this lol and lets talk about texas knocking off nebraska today...go longhorns...now let me go scrub my tongue lol...no but really thank you longhorns for showing that the corn chuckers are nothing when you stop the run...
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Oh yeah, I was really surprised when UT went up 20-3 in the third quarter. Sure, they gave up that 95-yard punt return, but in the end they pulled off the upset. I wonder how many Nebraska fans have indigestion from eating so much crow...
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Yeah, i wasnt so surprised because of the twp weeks of preparation they had for this game, i was more surprised of the conservative call to just take a 14 point lead at half, that punt return was just sickening, they should have just taken the field goal, or at least went for it, but oh well it was a nice win..and possibly takes nebraska out of the big 12 championship on their way out the door...
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Yeah, now it looks like Mizzou will represent the North this year. I'm just happy that UT won, after all the Nebraska fans were talking up a storm before the game.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 well, dont think so just yet, Mizzou might take the north, but still has to get through the number 1 BCS team in the nation Oklahoma next week, not to mention they still have to beat Nebraska, but then again depends on if Nebraska can get by Oklahoma State,if OK State beats NU saturday, OU beats mizzou and mizzou losing to Nebraska, we might be seeing a tie for the north. ahh brings back memories of the triple tie from 2008.. =}
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Oh boy, I remember that. As a UT fan, I'm going for Mizzou next week, but if everything goes as you said, it should be interesting to watch. At least our teams wouldn't be involved in it this time LOL.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 lol Mizzou doesnt have the horsepower to take out Oklahoma, it will be close, but i rank FSU higher than Missouri, and we seen what happened there..yeah luckily our teams arent involved, and this will be the last year of the big 12 championship so all is good, although ill miss that last game, all they need to do is get rid of baylor and bring in some good teams and get a better conference going.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Oh man, imagine the Big 12 getting Arkansas from the SEC and possibly TCU from the Mountain West....Will never happen, but imagine what would happen if it did.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 I could see more of a BYU, and TCU, or maybe even a Boise St, wouldnt count on an SEC team coming over, since the SEC is somewhat more prestigious than the Big 12, but i would love to have a non-AQ team, since Utah is going to the pac-10, i know boise is going to the MWC but would love to see a turn around and come to the big 12, and if anyone would come to the big 12 you can bank on it being TCU because they said "IF" they were to recruit more teams they would want teams from Texas.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Not to mention all the new in-conference rivalries that would spring up. Imagine Texas-TCU and OU-TCU every year. It would definitely make the conference much more interesting.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 oh yeah, and give it a lot more prestige, not to mention get these cry baby fans an opportunity to see their teams finally get a chance at a BCS National...tired of hearing them complain cause their teams get passed up.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life TCU is an excellent team, both they and the conference would greatly benefit if such an acquisition took place.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Oh yeah fully agree with you there, the conference and most importantly the fans, i mean to have your school with an automatic bid to the BCS is completely outstanding, and will turn a good crowd into a great one...and like you said, the rivalries. But lets see how well next year turns out, with a 10 team conference, who knows we might like it, then again it also gives them more time for recruiting other teams to it..
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Exactly. TCU to the Big 12 is basically a win-win situation. They get an automatic BCS bid, and the conference gets another elite team, which makes for some intense rivalries. And of course, these rivalries get on national TV and earn the Big 12 more money. It couldn't possibly hurt for the Frogs to join the Big 12.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Nope and with UT's new television network, it would produce even more revenue, although i do believe the Frogs would suffer a bit, but we need more dominant teams in the Big 12, just like with all of the rising teams in the SEC our conference has been lacking big teams, i mean in my opinion we have more "qualified" big teams than the SEC, but we dont get the respect, mainly because Oklahoma and Texas dominate over all other teams..TCU would greatly benefit Big 12...we should petition
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life TCU would certainly help out the conference, even if they suffer. In order to compete with the SEC, the conference needs another powerhouse like Texas and OU to generate competition within the conference. The conference really needs TCU to meet those standards.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Yeah most definitely...ugh that sucks Oklahoma lost, but whatever its a blessing in disguise...no pressure being number one and we wont drop back too far...and damn what happened to Texas...losing to ISU is NEVER ok lol.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Yeah, imagine my surprise when I return from two days out of town to find that UT lost to Iowa State. Texas losing to ISU in football is like the Undertaker losing to Justin Bieber in wrestling, LOL. Hopefully Gilbert and Greg Davis can get their crap together before things get worse. We might have to sneak Colt McCoy into Gilbert's jersey and pretend to be him just so we can start winning games again.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 lmao, yeah definitely, but hey look at it this way, Texas will be really good next year, just look what happened last year to OU, then we come back and win 6 straight...but Texas better watch out cause we will be even better next year too...
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Yeah, I hope Texas bounces back like OU did this year. And hopefully, so will Greg Davis and Garrett Gilbert. Next year's RRR should be a good one.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 they will, Texas isnt known for having two bad seasons, Oklahoma is having a good year, but still isnt a full force, come next year when the secondary grows up we will be good, but we lose Broyles and Murray, so we will have to see about the offense...The RRR is always a good one, no matter what lol...
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Yeah, every team has its rebuilding years. OU had one last year, and it's apparently UT's turn this year. Next year Gilbert will be a junior, hopefully he can improve on his gameplay by then. Even in the win against Nebraska, he looked terrible. He had a 25% completion percentage in that game if I'm not mistaken.
Speaking of rebuilding years, I with I could say the same for the Cowboys. Talk about terrible. LOL
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Yeah and he didnt look too impressive with the run either, but all that is in due time...Lol the Cowboys suck dude lmao
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Hopefully, HOPEFULLY, Gilbert can get back on track and attempt to fill Colt's shoes the way Colt filled VY's.
The Cowboys were pretty bad before Romo broke his collarbone. Now, it's just a matter of seeing how many wins we can manage to squeeze out for the rest of the year.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Eh i dont see him being able to fill Colts shoes, but in his own way will be able to manage, and if he cant then im pretty sure Colt's little brother is willing and able to..
Yeah, im not too much of a cowboys fan anymore, never really liked them, i kind of jump from team to team right now.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life That's right, I forgot Case McCoy was Gilbert's backup. Hopefully being a beast at football runs in the family.
The Cowboys need help, and they need it now. Wade Phillips isn't doing it for them.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Yeah.i wouldnt really say colt was a beast but he was pretty good, except when he got hit then he was weak..have a friend who played him last year when they took on Wyoming said he hit Mccoy and he just laid there haha, but yeah maybe his little bro can pick up th slack that Gilbert is leaving around.
Well pretty much every team needs help right now, the Cowboys need some real play makers, and a new season before they become any better. they need to kick Romo in the ass or something
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Yeah, hopefully Case can step it up when he gets his chance.
What the Cowboys need to do is fire their coach. Maybe then they can start winning games.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Yeah, you guys need someone who can step up in the QB area...if you guys lose to Baylor this year....gilbert should be hanged lol
Yeah thats true, but I dont see them in the glory spot for a while, too many up and rising teams...
kingali4life 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 wow what happened? that game was...uhmm wow...never thought Baylor could beat texas....gonna be a good game with OU...
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Not sure what happened there...I was out of town on Saturday, so I didn't see the game, but from what I've heard, it was terrible.
I just want football season to be over now LOL. I'm tired of seeing the Cowboys and UT underachieve like this.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 lol...uhh...i didnt see much of it, mainly cause it wasnt on where im at, but from what i did see, Texas got owned by Baylor...never thought id say this but im kind of scared about the game against Baylor lol....lets see how Ok State holds up...
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life It would seem that the days of Baylor being an automatic win on everyone's schedule have passed. If Baylor beats OU, I'll start biting my nails for next year. LOL
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 lol i completely agree with you, but hmm we will have to see, they almost beat us last year, but we sucked last year, Texas sucks this year, and they got beat, lets just wait and see haha
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life LOL of course. But it seems that you can't overlook Baylor anymore...All we need is for A&M to get its act together and the South can be filled with perennial competitors.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 yes and i also heard on ESPN about talks with TCU to join the big 12, not sure if they were saying they should or if they were saying the Big 12 commissioner was in talks, but all i know is the Big 12 is making its way back...
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Let's hope you're right. I'm sick of hearing "SEC! SEC!" every year.
I heard somewhere that the Big East is trying to pick up TCU in order to help expand their conference to 10 teams. I mean, WTF?
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Well, now i hear that the big 12 is serious about not expanding, and sticking with just the 10 teams, and within five years is looking to merge with either the big ten or the pac-10...depending of course on if the play-off thing catches on...ugh im so confused, lol
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life I can't see the Big 12 merging with anybody else. We'll have to see what happens.
So if the Big 12 is sticking with 10 teams, will it still be called the Big 12? Will it go the way of the Big Ten and have a misleading name? LOL
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 lol its funny i was thinking the same thing haha, i think they will switch names...or maybe they will stick with the names, or get new ones....lol confusing...wow what happened to Texas and Oklahoma, both got dominated lol
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Yeah, it was a terrible Saturday for both teams. I sort of expected UT to lose given their bad season and the fact that K-State seems to have their number in recent years, but I have no idea what happened to OU. I was looking at the weekly scores and I was like WTF?
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 well, i knew it was going to happen, Oklahoma isnt playing the best football, they have either gotten "lucky", or they have played teams of less importance...oh well i was watching the freshmen play and wow, we have some talent for next year...
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Next year should be better, both for UT and the Cowboys. I tell you, it's been a rough year for me as a sports fan. Can't wait until Texas-OU 2010!
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 You mean Texas-OU 2011 right? lol cause we seen what happened in 2010, dont worry oklahoma will dominate then as well, i just dont believe (given Texas' horrible QB) that they can beat oklahoma, but whatever, and i know what you mean, being a sports fan isnt great when your team starts losing, but at least we are true to our teams and not bounce back and fourth when they start losing.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Oh yeah, I meant 2011. And you never know. Maybe Gilbert can step up his game next year and make it a great game. Texas-OU games (for the most part) are usually close anyway.
It's been tough seeing people jump ship like they have. At least now we can see who the true fans are.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 yeah, either way the RRR is always entertaining to watch, especially when UT and OU have high powered offenses lol, we will have to see, this year was kind of a let down, and it looks like the losing isnt over for Texas, with Okie State in two days and TAMU shortly after..both of them will more than likey destroy texas from the inside out..
Yeah it has been tough, but the true fans shine brightly here, even when OU went 8-5 i still showed Pride in my team.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life This shall pass, however. UT isn't known to do poorly two years in a row. Part of it is (and this applies to last year's OU team as well) that the fans are spoiled by victory. Of course, 4-5 isn't a favorable record for any team, but it hits harder when you have a prestigious program like Texas or OU that is accustomed to winning. The sad thing is that with OSU and A&M still on the schedule, I don't even think UT will make a bowl this year....
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 I agree completely with you, everybody expects a fantastic winning season every year, and it is just impossible, every team has a rebuilding year and they cant feed the fans the wins like they want.....wow another loss for Texas, i think Mac should replace Gilbert, he doesnt want to because he doesnt want to show he has lost faith in his QB, but i mean he just isnt producing, and with TAMU coming up, i feel sorry for you guys...
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life I know. This team has been painful to watch this year. Gilbert is performing terribly. He only has two multiple-TD games this year, and of course there was the 5-INT debacle against K-State.
This team reminds me of last year's Nebraska team in that they're basically dead on the offensive side of the ball. The main difference is, the '09 Huskers had a stellar defense and managed to win some games. I wouldn't be surprised if Florida Atlantic gives UT some trouble next week.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 yeah i know what you mean, but its cool theres always next year...
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life That's true. Hook'em.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Im a little nervous with the next two games, IDK if the Sooners can win away from home, they lost to Mizzou who isnt that bad, then to TAMU, who again isnt that bad, but struggled against a crap Cincinnati team lol, ugh and this is a pretty good Baylor team, and we already know that Ok State is doing very well this year....might turn out bad after all lol
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Baylor is good, but so is OU this year. It should make for an interesting game. And as for OK State, well, you never know. Look what happened last year. OSU was excellent, OU was mediocre, and yet they still won by 27.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 yeah it will be interesting, but again terrifying since its a road game... Yeah OU shut em out in Bedlam, but at the same time it was a home game and Oklahoma hasnt lost a home game since 2005, this is going to be a road test, better team wins i suppose lol.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Should be a good one. Back in Austin, the offseason may as well be starting. They have a lot of work to do...
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 well you never know Texas did upset Nebraska, idk if you guys are getting some of your injured players back or not, so who knows they could take out A&M...dont give up so soon, it looks bad, but it could always be worse, any bets on if Mack quits after this year?
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life I don't think Mack will quit. Greg Davis, maybe, but not Mack. It mainly has to do with the team's talent and chemistry. I mean, Gilbert isn't exactly the best QB out there, and our defense has been torched for a few 30+ point games this year. Last year, Mack had Colt McCoy to work with and they went to the NC game. In 2005, he had Vince Young and they WON the NC game. It's all a matter of the talent/chemistry the team has. Mack is a great coach, I don't think he'll quit this year.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 well, i wasnt meaning much because of the team, more because hes been looking to retire, and this would seem about the right time, just go out while you still can, im pretty sure Muschamp will be a good head coach.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Maybe he can pull a Jason Garrett (although Mack is by far a better coach than Wade was) and lead the 'Horns to victory in 2011. It could definitely happen.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Yeah most definitely, well it was a pretty good day in football saturday, both our teams won by a good margin, although Texas wont be making a bow appearance this year unless they manage to beat A&M which isnt unlikely seeing as it is its a rivalry game and plus its the Big 12 South which makes for some good football, im looking forward to Thanksgiving and for the Saturday that follows...
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life I'm just happy UT won, LOL. Although they probably will lose to A&M and finish the year 5-7. I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving as well, but not because of the 'Horns. With a year like this, it's hard to look forward to much of anything...
There's always next year, though. HOOK 'EM
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 well its nice to see (even though we dont agree, or go for the same team, as a matter of fact complete opposites lol) that no matter what happens there is another who sticks true to their team, i guess its something about Southern football, and southern fans, we have school spirit, no matter where we live, i mean im in Utah right now, i live like not even a mile from BYU and when they started losing EVERYONE started switching to Utah lol, how lame is that.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life It's really disappointing when these "fans" jump ship because their team is having a bad year. I've counted quite a few Cowboys "fans" who have switched teams because they're down this year. I just find this fair-weather attitude pathetic.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Yeah i agree, mm well UT's season is over, but what a helluva run they gave TAMU, it was a pretty good game for the most part, but just like OU you cant be turning the ball over in the red zone..oh well better season next year most definitely, cant wait for Bedlam saturday, or Arizona v. Oregon, wait and Bama v Auburn...gonna be exciting..
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Hey, at least they weren't blown out like they had been in their other losses. Still, they should improve on their record next year. They have the entire offseason in front of them, seeing as how they won't be playing in a bowl game this year.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Yeah thats true, but still this year was a shocker, and tonights games were a complete surprise, i expected at least one upset, lets see if Nevada can do something right now lol...doesnt look good though down what might be 17-0 in a second.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life It's 24-7 Boise at the half, so it doesn't look good for the Pack right now.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Hahahaha that was a great second half, best game ive seen in a while, wow what a win for Nevada..
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life What a win by Nevada in OT. Of course, this means that Boise won't have a shot at a BCS bowl game this year. It's not fair, but this is why we need a playoff system so that teams like Boise and TCU have a chance to prove themselves.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 I dont really believe in a playoff system, leave that to the pros, but we do need a refined version of the BCS, you know cause what worked several years ago, just isnt working now because of all the talent these schools are bringing in. a playoff would still keep deserving schools from playing in a final big game, mainly because of a bad game or two. I dont believe Boise should be taken out of a BCS bowl, but dont think they deserve a big bowl game either. due to strength of schedule
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life That's true. Still, it would be nice to have a system in which all teams have an equal chance to play for a championship, regardless of which conference they play in. If they could somehow integrate this with the current bowl system, it would basically be the perfect postseason setup.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Well id like to see the BCS gone, and some conferences joined like the WAC, MAC, MWC and C-USA with the bigger conferences...making them bigger and giving more competition, having more of a selection of big bowl games, putting smaller teams who dont get the chance to showcase talent against bigger teams who always get the chance to, and of course a National Championship with a revamped ranking system... in this way a ton of people win, and better recruiting for smaller schools...
kingali4life 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 and wow big news, TCU accepted offer from the Big East...so they will be joining them in 2012
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Which, of course, would be the ideal system to have. I'm sick of the BCS and its corruption.
Are you kidding me? TCU makes no sense geographically! Ah well, there goes that shot at massively revamping the Big 12.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Yes exactly what i was thinking, it would drastically improve things..
yeah i know right, the big east should only recruit from the east lol, but whatever all they wanted was the television market for the dallas-fortworth areas, which, if they get TCU, they get those markets and have the fifth largest market in the US...so that means bigger recruitment, and more tv time for big east teams
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Oh well, the Frogs are going to the Big East now. Wouldn't be surprised if the ACC starts picking up teams from the West Coast, and the SEC starts getting schools from the Northwest. TCU just doesn't make any sense in the Big East, but the dollar rules over all in college football.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 I agree, its complete nonsense, i like the big 12 because everything is geographic, i wouldnt mind seeing Arkansas and all that in the Big 12, or maybe Tulsa, possibly Houston, but there is nothing to gain with any of them except for Arkansas, they can add some more southern schools because i heard Oklahoma and Okie State had agreed to move to the North as long as the RRR could stay intact. the north needs a couple of powerhouses.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life I agree that Arkansas would be a great fit for the conference. The North does need powerhouse teams, at least in football. They're already solid as far as basketball goes.
Although if the Big East is going to trash geography in favor of cash, why doesn't the Big 12 go after Boston College or Penn State? It would make about as much sense as what the Big East did recently. LOL
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Yes, the North is pretty good with other sports other than football, they just lack severely in that area.
I dont really know how much the big 12 would gain with BC but PSU would be good, but i agree with what you are saying, if money rules then why not? lol
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Exactly. We should just throw cash at whoever is available. The conferences could then pool their money together and petition the NFL to demote the Panthers to the NCAA. Might as well, right? LOL
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Lol thats some funny stuff, but completely true, well today was the last of the Big 12 Championship game (for now) and I think Oklahoma gave Nebraska a very good kick in the ass on the way out, its nice to see an old rivalry come to a dramatic end, and what a very nice end it was, bye bye Nebraska.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Not to mention the sting of being kicked out by the Longhorns as well, the team they wanted to beat so much. Ah well, now they have to deal with OSU, PSU, and Michigan State next year. HAHAHAHA
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 lol exactly, i find this is going to be a very quick FAIL on NU's part, they should have stuck with it, but oh well, ten teams isnt gonna be so bad, seeing as it is we get to play all nine conference teams, cant wait for next year.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life I really want to get another shot at KSU next year. I'm tired of this "we own Texas" garbage.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 lol, well KSU will get owned next year, they wont be able to handle UT at all...not with the way this year went..Brown isnt going to lay down and take this defeat.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Hopefully. It's been YEARS since UT beat them.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 yeah that is true lol, but i have confidence (even though i hate all that is texas) that they will have a great team for the next few years.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life RRR is always fun, especially when both teams are doing well. I look forward to a great matchup next year.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 yeah it is always fun, because even when one team is spectacular and the other is so-so, they both give their all and the outcome is usually surprising. Next year is going to be great because that game will more than likely decide the big 12 champ.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Yeah, it's going to be great next year. I'm itching to see the 'Horns succeed again.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 lol Well the Sooners might have to shut you down, but dont be surprised if thats the only loss UT has next year. Its time for another winning streak lol
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life It certainly is. We'll see about who shuts who down who come next October. HOOK 'EM! ;)
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 lol yes yes of course haha, but dont be surprised when the Sooners cook up some bevo for post game celebration haha...So Mark Cuban trying to pay and make way for a Playoff system..
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life I just hope it doesn't get too cold at the game...they might have to burn the Sooner Schooner for warmth.
Yeah, I heard about that. It's just something about Metroplex-area sports franchise owners that makes them egotistical maniacs.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 lol well its a good thing it never gets cold in texas, you know with all the hot air you guys let out haha..
lol yeah i can see, but hey if he wants to push the playoff, he made me change my mind with his points, im all for it now...just to shove it up the SEC's ass...
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life It might be warm here at times, but it's almost always windy. Oklahoma sucks and Mexico blows, so it's a fair balance. LOL
And yeah, I really hope Oregon wins the NC this year. I'm tired of hearing "SEC! SEC!" at the end of every title game.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 yeah that one would have been good if it werent already used for Texas and Kansas haha...
yeah i completely agree, then again im still angry about the last time Oklahoma played Oregon when the refs screwed Oklahoma, but whatever if they win it ill be happy.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Yeah, but you have to substitute names where you can. LOL
But chances are Oregon won't win. You know how the media/refs are in love with the SEC.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 lol i have nothing more to say haha..
Yeah that is true..the SEC is what the Pac-10 and USC were six years ago... im pretty sure the refs are going to be biased but whatever, Oregon just cant give up a huge lead, Newton is a good QB, i just dont think its right he didnt get punished for what his father did, anybody else from any other conference would have, the SEC just wanted one of their teams in the National.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life It should be a high-octane battle of offenses. Oregon for obvious reasons, and Auburn for their dynamic QB Scam (uh, oh, um, I mean CAM) Newton and their 42.7 points per game. I'm tired of this SEC supremacy! Let's go Oregon!
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Agreed, its time for a change, The SEC is nothing with out its three rings....LSU who got in with two losses Bama who actually did deserve it and Florida who rode the fag Tebow from day 1. and since Florida is out we replace them with a cheap cheating Auburn team who without the miracle of the SEC fagboys wouldnt be where they are right now.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life The SEC is top-heavy as it is. Sure, you have Auburn, 'Bama, LSU, and that's about it as far as "elite" teams go. Who else is there? South Carolina? They got destroyed in the conference title game by the media's golden boy Newton and his team. Let the SEC homers say what they will about their rings, take away the conference's top three teams and the SEC is suddenly mediocre.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Yup completely, I just think because of the Media, and the way society is today, other deserving conferences as in the MWC, hell even C-USA has some pretty good teams that dont get recognition because of the Media whore SEC, I honestly couldnt give a rats ass about 90% of that conference, they are just as good as any other conference with two to three powerhouse teams, people are just blind.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Of course. Time for Oregon to help remove the blinders from the media's eyes.
And of course, having a superior Big 12 team such as Texas or OU win it next year won't hurt. ;)
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Oh yeah, glad we see things eye to eye on this situation..
Well, not to mention Okie State should do well, and TAMU so we should have a pretty dominant Big 12
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Or Large 10, or Great 10, or Big 10 Part 2, or whatever else the conference is going to be called after Nebraska and Colorado jump ship. LOL
But I do see what you're saying. TAMU actually did well this year, so it should make for some interesting competition next year. Hopefully the Longhorns, who lost basically everyone from their coaching staff (with the exception of Mack) can figure out how to rebuild from this rather disappointing year.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Lol yeah exactly..
Whats going to be interesting is the fact we play EVERYONE in the conference, so if KState, or Mizzou want to play, let em bring it, for the most part (until they recruit two more teams) the original Big 12 South will still dominate, which of course i bring up the fact about recruiting teams, because if they cant recruit from the north, Oklahoma and okie State agreed to leave the south, if rivalries stay intact. lets hope for the best for Texas.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Yeah, it should be a similar outcome next year, aside from Texas faltering.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Well looks like the South had to pick up the slack from the north, nice win for OU, OSU, and TT, lets go TAMU...kind of pissed about the SEC 3 ring powerhouses equaling their losses last night, but oh well, Whats going on with Texas as of late, losing a ton of staff, that isnt going to be good for next year..well who knows.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Hey look, OU won a BCS bowl game for the first time since the Stone Age! Hell just froze over!
No, but that was really a good win for OU, they thoroughly dominated UConn. Now it would have been a different story if it were women's basketball, but unfortunately for the Huskies it wasn't.
At this point, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Mack Brown retired and Garrett Gilbert transfers to another school. Hell, throw in the AD and the university president while we're at it!
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 *cough*cough* at least we made it to a bowl game. =D
yeah i agree with you, it wasnt a top notch program OU beat, but a wins a win, ill take it haha.
Eh i dont see Brown retiring, not until after next years season.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life There's always....next year. :O
That's true, you have to take wins any way you can get them.
Given the way UT has been losing EVERYBODY left and right, I wouldn't rule that out. LOL
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 lol true.
yeah exactly, hopefully next season will bring better competition.
lol yeah thats true, but im pretty sure a good season next year wont be that much of a surprise for most, Mack always puts together a great program.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life True, he usually does.
Boy, I hope Oregon beats the hell out of Auburn. I've had it with hearing "SEC" at the end of every championship game. I don't recall the Saints fans yelling "NFC South" when they won the Super Bowl.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Yep he does..thats what makes him such a great coach.
I agree, im tired of hearing it every week..maybe this is the year of change, i mean Texas had a losing season, Oklahoma won a BCS bowl game, and Oregon is in their first National, so...maybe the so called "winds of change" are blowing through collegiate football. All i know is we need Ohio State, TAMU, Pitt, and Oregon to win so we can shut the SEC up completely. or at least 3 of the 4 lol.
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Well, looks like the NC didn't exactly turn out the way we wanted it to...oh well.
Ohio State? Nope.
TAMU? Nope.
Pitt? Hey, there's one.
Oregon? Close, but no cigar.
Damn that SEC. Looks like we'll have to see what happens next year.
puzzleboy2 1 year ago
@puzzleboy2 Well we were hoping, Im already tired of the "five in-a-row) rants going on, pretty much just talking trash abut every other conference. But the way i see it, the SEC and Auburn cheated their way into the National, they said it was all settled with newton and his dad, but right after Auburns win its "back under investigation" lol wtf? Oh well its being said OU is the team to beat next season, we will see, maybe The Big 12 can dethrone the SEC..
kingali4life 1 year ago
@kingali4life Oh crap, I forgot that OSU did indeed win their bowl game. But still, you get my point.

our defense is gonna wreck dis year im happy im not sam bradford right now
jonathanU13 2 years ago
I think the Red RIver Rivalry is a toss up this year. Texas has alot of missing players but their play calling will most likely be much like it was the year before and thus be some what predictable. OU has alot of new players as well and hopefully will have some rising stars. With Bradford back with Madu and Broyles, they could be stellar or they could be average. Depends on how hard these two teams are willing to play to win it this year!

runnin up the score helps. Or was MIzzu going to come back from a 40+ point deficit when Bradford was still in and they were throwing the ball.
Texas has class
OU is classless.
fiveo21 2 years ago
I love the rivalry and want to beat texas, but I also have the utmost respect for their program too, its a great program and i'd go to school there. The cheerleaders have the best outfits too damn! So the only classlessness is you hombre. Where is your sportsmanship? Talking trash doesn't mean you have to hate. Boomer Sooner Super Sam is coming back!!!
