  • that is so rude, you never let the phone ring. the person in the store is already in the store by letting the phone ring you just lost a different sale. if the people that you are talking to see you being rude to another customer then you just lost two sales. moron!

  • @azuritet3 it is so not rude. you love the one your with. one of the biggest mistakes sales people make is worrying about a future sale when they need to be 100 percent focused on the sale they have in front of them. YOU BETTER LET THAT PHONE RING

  • @tonysgrey yes it is rude. if i go into a place and see a salesman shirk another customer who needs help, whether they are in the store or on the phone then i think 'what if i was that customer?' and don't shop there anymore, and i complain about it online. furthermore, the phone itself is a distraction. if you are that worried about the customer being distracted and suddenly realizing that they don't need whatever it is that you are selling, then you need to do two things.

  • i dont see how if youre selling something its really so easy to lose a sale and it be your fault. sometimes things just dont work out and things change. do you really need to beat yourself up and blame yourself everytime you lose a sale? no you dont. sales is stupid and so are all the people involved.

    so selling is not stupid it the way to move the economy forward its helping the people to make decision and so on go get some education

  • @MrSassanM i realize everything is buying and selling, im reffering to people who make a big deal out of if they get the sale or not and acting like its possible that every sale they lose is somehow their fault. especially at retail stores where they set sales goals and if you dont meet them you are fired. that is very very stupid. sales in general isnt stupid just these stupid places that make it seem like everytime you dont sell anything to anyone there is something wrong with you.

  • just like a job interview. always ask for the job (if you want it). can't tell u many candidates i've interviewed that leave without asking for the job.

  • @ScrewAttackChina isnt it assumed that they want the job? it seems a little unfair that you would expect them to ask for something that is obvious and very unnecessary to say.

  • One more thing: Once you've got the deposit, shut up about the sale. If selling cars, and you just got the deposit on that long Caddy, don't say, "I hope the car fits your garage." Once you've got the deposit, don't blabber on and on about how they just made the right decision. Want an example of this? Look at Obama. He, after winning, is STILL selling his obviously lousy "product." After he got his defective healthcare fiasco passed, he keeps attention on it, so people have really got remorse!

  • I like Frank's tips. If you want to add that little "extra" though (and see the dollars rolling in), it helps to get a little darker. Not for everyone, but if you click on my username, you'll ways to definitely close that deal!
