Love the great mix of LA 80's bands in this! Also Tawney Kitaen (Whitesnakes's videos)in the cafe and Milton Berle referencing the Round and Round Ratt video. So cool with Nikki Sixx and the very young and not yet notorious Tommy Lee-as cops of all things! I hear a lot of Dokken/Lynch influence in the guitar work with a Martini solo a lot like Round and Round. I also think of the humor seen in ZZ Top/Cyndi Lauper videos with the cafe lady chasing the guys around....great 80's music!

I had an earlier version of this song that was released on a five-song EP. It had a more prominent acoustic guitar track that's almost nonexistent on this version as well as an acoustic break. This is a good track but I like the earlier version better.

I suppose you could call it a 5 song EP since Walkin' the Dog wasn't theirs (nor Aerosmith's) but You're in Trouble (including the cover) extends the EP to a 7 track record but from what I gather, this version seems to be mainly exclusive to European imports.

The original version of You're in Trouble has less of a pop metal vibe and more of an acoustic/grunge vibe.

Ratt was more of a "girl" group than Motley Crue (What I mean buy that is)...More girls liked RATT then the Crue "'82-'86"(my high school years) In thous years I think the Crue were rougher sounding. They both Kicked Ass in concert!!! but Motley Crue really was better.

Ha! That "farty bass line" was from the '83 EP release. I don't think most have heard that version - I was looking for it too. I can only find the re-released version from "out of the cellar", bummer.

The original "Back For More" (from Ratt EP) has an odd bass note.. everything sounds good, moving along, and then "berrrb". I'd never described it as "fartie" until 572ss1972 called it that, but it is a pretty good representation of it, haha.

I found a version online - Google search "Licorice Pizza ratt" and there's a blog with mp3 so you can give it a listen. The first is at 1:25, but close your eyes, give it a listen, you'll notice. Standard disclaimers apply.

This is my favorite RATT song and I really think the "outro" or solo at the end is one of Warren's best. It's true there are thousands of VERY fast players now, but what made/makes Warren unique was/is his fluidity and rhythm while playing with intensity. This was partly because of a combined pick-hammer-on triplet technique he developed (similar to EVH's who he cites as an influence). Like Eddie, Warren has great phrasing. He was never a dick-assed poser either. I think OOTC was a great album.

Agreed. Mick could never rival Warren as a guitar player. Also, in a way, Robbin invented groove metal (on the EP) so Mick's definitely outmatched. :D

Some people would say Vince and Ste are the same but Ste wasn't as annoying plus he had more range (as can be heard on the song Givin' Yourself Away).

As a showman (visually), Tommy may have eclipsed Blotzer but Bobby was more impressive (with songs like Sweet Cheater, Body Talk, City to City and Chain Reaction).

Motley Crue are very good and they conveyed their live impact on records moreso than Ratt did but I always felt Ratt were more ground-breaking as a band.

Their self-titled debut EP is the first record to contain sludge metal and groove metal.

Also, the way Way Cool Jr. begins with the sound of a tap dancer and incorporates saxophones, harmonica and washboard is admirably unique.

In some ways, Ratt inspired Crue such as the opening to City to City inspiring that of T'N'T'
