  • will this work in Europe?

  • yes your iphone can do this its called skype or textfree with voice. i guess u never even used an iphone

  • strange music...

  • Sipgate ran out of number...........

  • Awesome soundtrack..

  • Even my ipod can do that its a app called Text free with Voice!

  • yes my iPhone can do that moron

  • sip gate says it has no numbers available for me

  • 2:27 Ba-ya-ya-ya-di-ya-ya-ya-ba-ba-ya-ug-a-a-a-a

  • it works real good.. thanks..

  • itll only use the minutes if you call directing from that number. if you call from the google number then you have no problems

  • This music is killing me.

  • I wish you'd right down the instructions step-by-step. It is hard to see the options you've chosen on the sites and on your phone.

  • I tried registering with sipgate and they aren't taking new registrations right now they are out of numbers. I hope they get back up and running soon with new numbers

  • Will this still work and be completely free after the 60 minutes within 30 days expires or will I then have to purchase a plan to continue using this process?

  • @ussoccerplayer i had to use google voice callback to get this method to work properly. you need a pretty decent connection for it to work well. i mainly use it overseas and most hotel wifi is not sufficient enough to provide good call quality.

  • Referring to my post below, the issue is that I can ONLY have my friends call my GV for me to receive free calls if SIP is on, but when it is off they will know because it goes straight to Voice Mail. In that case it is inconvenient because people would have to call my regular number to contact me which by the way would cost me minute usage. I have done all the settings the video had suggested. Anyone else having this issue? Anyone have suggestions?

  • Everything is working great without any echo except for one issue I am having, At the moment I have only found a way to make outgoing calls that my service provider does not charge for. When someone calls my Google Voice # with SIP on (Green Light) it goes through & rings on my mobile phone & I can answer the call free of any minutes used on any accounts, however when I have my SIP off & a friend calls my Google Voice # I am not notified at all & the caller just hears a ring then a voicemail.

  • super goed min punt geen nederlands

  • Does this fix works for HTC HERO?

  • @thedmoneyify yea, because i want to pay even more for something that shouldnt need it. doesnt matter, i found a way around it, and i just found i can make calls freely through wifi.

  • @Munky332 how so?

  • @Munky332 how so?

  • @thedmoneyify that would defeat the purpose. what im looking for is to connect the phone to wifi, then call my wife who would also be on wifi. obviously there shouldnt be any charge for this type of connection since im already paying for the internet anyways... there shouldnt be a need to have a laptop in between. and while this video's method works, my sipgate account shows me as having 56 minutes left after having talked to my wife for 4 minutes.

  • dunno if its changed since this vid was made, but sipgate seems to be giving away free 60 minutes, but calls i make use those minutes even tho its over wifi... so this isnt fully free VoIP... just wonderin how the hell i can make calls outside the US using hotel wifi to my wife at home, without havin to pay more than i already am...

  • how do I verify my phone with google cause it doesnt ring my phone with the sip number

  • This actually can be done on an iPhone/iPod. Android is still better though.

  • google callback app is free to download and you won't have to login to dolphin

  • Thanks! Works great!

  • I bought a samsung vibrant are we supposed to set up from out phone or on PC cause I set up on my PC and it says I didnt pick a plan that allows me to make calls, Im sorry to bother you

  • Finally! I had all of the pieces except Dolphin HD! Thank you, stonedgenius!

    Still have the following issues:

    1. At least a 10 second lag time from when I answer a call and when the connection actually happens.

    2. Once connected I can hear the caller fine but the caller hears an elongated rendition of my speech.

Can this all be fixed in the sipdroid->settings->audio/video settings?

  • Okay this all seems to be working except I am still getting the calls listed as incoming minutes so it ends up costing me anyway. Am I doing something wrong here?

  • not sure why.. but it says "your cost for this call is .04 per min you have 2 mins for this call" Who is doing the charging? google? Sipgate? sipdroid?

  • Do I have to keep sipdroid running on phone to have this work for free? Calls seem to be going through without sipdroid running but I am not sure if it is free this way???

  • Just did this and it seems to be working - so far, so good. Thank you, this could save me a lot of money

  • This is beyond awesome. now i can make free calls from my phone WOOHOOO. THANK YOU!!!

  • I did everything step by step but my red light stayed red (obviously didnt turn green at the point indicated) and said authorization failed 8( I am sorry if this is a total waste of time answering this I'm sure theres some inane solution I am simply not getting (rookie) but I'd appreciate the help!!!

  • @imon3y check the SIP credentials from the sipgate one account, there should be a problem with the characters, the authorizatoin username is kinda weird: xxxxxxxe0, with x's being all digits, the password is 6 capital letters and the server is sipgate.com

otw, try wifi on after putting the phone in the plane mode, the sipgate one through sipdroid always work and it shd turn into green.

  • does this work for international calls..?

  • @bigdaddyace yes it works on international calls but with google international dialing rates, europe is mostly 2 cents a min and US/CAN are free

  • thank you! ~ k'ajl

    ;)

  • thank you! ~ [k'ajl]

    ;)

  • thank you! ~ kaetrz a.k.a. [k'ajl]

    ;)

  • @kaetrz no problem!!!

  • This is awesome! Thanks for posting this stonedgenius. I have a problem of sipgate picking up calls and taking it to the sipgate voicemail. If I delete/disable sipgate voicemail, an incoming call to my GV number would only be picked up by my GV voicemail, right?

  • @TheJohndv yes i think you are right, i dont use any sipgate/gv voicemail so havent experimented on it...

  • @stonedgenius i tried it on 3g & it didn't go through. sipdroid has a "use 3g" setting that i thought might fix it.

  • @stonedgenius I'm at work, so I haven't had time to play with it anymore. I'll look at it later tonight.

  • How did you verify your mobile number n o n gv?

  • @Alexmanic3: i don;t understand your question. When you put the sipgate number in gv, gv sens a verification code can calls the sipgate number. there are two ways to verify. Install sipgate desktop client on your pc and rcv the c all there and verify. Or you can also verify through sipdroid. hope this helps.

  • @StonedGenius *sends a verification code and call the sipgate number to verify (the 415 number)*

  • Leave a comment, is it working for you ?

  • @StonedGenius It worked perfectly on my original Motorola Droid. I'm non root 2.2. Also, you can use the app from Xinlu "Google Voice Callback FREE", and you don't even have to use Dolphin HD (after the first call at least).

  • @MyNameGotDeleted thanks for the Xinlu tip, i will check that out

  • @MyNameGotDeleted @MyNameGotDeleted Xinlu is working perfectly. I discovered the browser trick because I cld nt get GV callback apps to work. I was Evan Charlton but Xinlu's is perfect. thanks a lot. no need for browser anymore.

  • @MyNameGotDeleted Does this callback app work over 3g coz I am pretty sure that the dolphin browser method works over 3g ????

  • @StonedGenius yeah it does work over 3g. I've just tested it on my nexus one 2.2 frf91 xD

  • @sagech888 thanks, ya it rocks over 3g

  • @MyNameGotDeleted actually th e browser trick works over 3g but the gv app doesnt, i just called australia for 2 cents a min :) in fact, if u are in front of ur pc, you can dial the number from gv there and it rings on your cell, if no pc, then use phone browser faking it to be a desktop
