Give it another million years, the moon will look smaller and be further from the earth. Look it up. The dinosaurs experienced a moon that was HUGE.

The other galactic alignment is when the Sun actually passes through the "galactic disc" and is in perfect alignment with the center of the galaxy. Which is said to happen during the 64 million year cycle with in its 220 million year orbit around the Milky Way.
