@shotsniper009 Dude, this is an Xbox emulator, not a PC emulator. If you have the PC version (that works), just install it (if you haven't) and play that, lol.
@madtown500 That's because Xeon emulates the deffered render states and deferred texture states incorrectly. The author didn't have the same XDK Halo was built with so he didn't know why. When working on Cxbx, I ran into the exact same problem and it took only a few lines of code to fix. If Xeon was open source, I could fix it myself and the game would look perfect.
@TheDryBrowser I downloaded the emulator, yes. It can still be found on emulator-zone(.)com since _SF_'s website died. Or is this what you were asking?
Have any of you ever learn that halo was made for the pc back in 2003!? It practically runs great on anything that doesn't have a intel graphics card! And it's $20 now.
@dark1ankh I know this is a bit old, but Halo sucks at any frame rate over 30fps. It was designed to run at that frame rate and looks awful when run higher than that.
@blueshogun96 Eh, if you know how to configure it right the PC version of Halo: Combat Evolved beats it out on every level. Enabled Anisotropic Filtering, adding "-use21" to the target line, and forcing the resolution to 1920x1080 on computers/monitors that can handle it make it the greatest Halo: Combat Evolved experience you can have. If you thought just turning up the graphics in game were all there was to increasing the graphical limit to Halo PC, you'll be amazed by the things I said to do.
@xXLordSairinXx Thanks for the well informed reply but graphics aren't really the issue for me. I just stated that Halo isn't designed to run over 30fps. I prefer the Xbox version not only because co-op support but because I prefer playing this particular game on an Xbox controller. I'd honestly be very interested in emulating Halo just for the possibility of having native XInput support and other things.
Either way, playing Halo at 1080i is nothing to sneeze at. Would like to try it sometime
@blueshogun96 Ah, well, you can get Xbox controllers for the PC if you didn't know. Nothing you can really do about co-op I'm afraid. It matters more to me that PC has online multiplayer (I do know about tunneling programs. I just prefer PC's more)
About playing Halo in 1080i is nothing to sneeze at comment, it actually is with what I described. There are no videos of Halo PC running at full capacity. You really should see it at those levels. With the widescreen fix the game plays better (imo)
@xXLordSairinXx Yeah, I understand your point of view though. I tried using my 360 controller on Halo PC (Demo) and couldn't configure it the way I wanted it too. Probably something I did wrong. Never played online much and I usually have more fun playing Co-op then live, but that's just me.
Well, Halo CE alone makes the PC version worth having, so I'll definitely have to try your suggestion sometime. Thanks!
@blueshogun96 You're welcome! I also understand your point of view. I get on the Xbox version to play the Campaign/Co-Op Campaign all the time. Feels just as great as it did 10 years ago (:
looks like it still needs work, but I would like to play split screen co-op or versus on a laptop. (because they did not include co-op on the pc version..WHY).
@123halofreak No worries, it's fine. I understand that you'd expect a fully developed (or mostly working) Xbox emulator by now. If Xeon was open source, then I could fix all those lighting and texture bugs. I figured out what was going wrong in Halo when I worked on Cxbx. What we need is an LLE Xbox emulator, that would be more effective!
@blueshogun96 Totally correct. I so thought that somone would have made a fully working emulator. An LLE emulator would be so much more effective and less bugs would be around.
@123halofreak Yeah, then we wouldn't have to worry about the many pitfalls involving HLE. If you haven't heard of it, Xenoborg is an LLE emulator using the same execution method as Xeon and Dxbx (load the .xbe at 0x10000 and execute it there) but using OpenGL instead because that matches the hardware more closely. It's not released yet and may not play commercial games for a while though since the hardware is complex. Hope to see it working soon.
@eddboy99 You didn't specify. Either way, I didn't download Halo, I used a hacked DVD firmware to dump my files.
Not to be rude or anything, but I had to put up an annotation at the beginning of this vid because I get a ridiculous number of requests for this ISO! Since I didn't download it, I put it up there. Even if I did download it, since I'm a well known Xbox emu author, it's going to reflect bad on my reputation if I do host a link to it.

Yeah, Xeon is kinda funny sometimes. I had to play with the debugging and logging options until I got it to go in-game. It will run on Vista though. I never bothered to play it on Vista, but I did get it to go in-game once.
@CardboardTurtle I already have Halo 2 Vista and have more than half the achievements for that game. But that's not the point. Lol, yeah. For some reason, the legs position get inverted some times so it's like they are listing their legs behind their backs. Captain Keyes's right hand also does a bunch of funky movements too.
i heard something like that too cxbx can run turok to but both emulators can only run those games sux that the makers quit on these projects by now they would have had a fully running emulator just like the playstationx2 versions -.-
You can easily download that from internet. He made it work on PC by using the emulator called Xeon (read the info next time). My question is, why do you want to use an Xbox emulator? Theres only a couple of games fully supported by that. Plus, Halo for PC was released a several years ago. You also can download that from the net
All these years being interested in Xbox emulation and I've yet to try Halo on Xeon.
I have a Halo disc but no way to dump it since I gave away my Xbox when I got my 360. Damn, well I'll pick up another Xbox here someday, since they go for $50 used now.
what u need to do is make a new folder and put Xeon in it then u put the Xeon configuration file right next to Xeon on the right then it will open but i still can't get halo to run on it :(

You can easily download that from internet. He made it work on PC by using the emulator called Xeon (read the info next time). My question is, why do you want to use an Xbox emulator? Theres only a couple of games fully supported by that. Plus, Halo for PC was released a several years ago. You also can download that from the net

Emulation... It's not about what games you can play, it's about getting something to work period.

All these years being interested in Xbox emulation and I've yet to try Halo on Xeon.
I have a Halo disc but no way to dump it since I gave away my Xbox when I got my 360. Damn, well I'll pick up another Xbox here someday, since they go for $50 used now.

Were you using Windows XP or Windows Vista? I use Vista but whenever I start the game, it just stays on a black screen and nothing happens.

You dump the files from a modded Xbox or a modified DVD drive and open the default.xbe file.
