  • An 8 Man Race on Daytona USA would be so sick :)

  • Why are the cars in the video not in order? its usually 1 red, 2 blue, 3 yellow, 4 green, 5 black, 6 pink, 7 light blue, 8 orange.

  • lol up to 4 players wanted!

  • In the local Dave & Busters here in Ohio, there are a full 8 cabinets all linked up.

    IT'S AWESOME.

  • @SappinSentry Same thing going at the D&B in Kansas City, KA.

  • Totally bitchin' dude. Such a versatile, brilliant emulator.

  • I WANT 20 PLAYER

  • 2:18 is it me or this thing is having mapping error?

  • Hello, there.

I've been seeing your posts/comments on SpekSNK on how to link the game.

But I'm still having some problems.

Could you show me some screenshots of examples on how to do it, please?

    Thanks.

  • If you are linking the game on a local lan, all instructions are provided in the user guide (link in my channel description). If it's using the online tool, that package has some doco in it also with screenshots.

  • 8-player Daytona? I played that at Disney World back in 2007, and at Dave & Buster's back in 2008. But sadly, according to figment1988, they got rid of the 8 player Daytona setup and replaced it with NASCAR Racing, that mediocre racing game. That sucks, huh?

  • That is soo kool. I have played the special eight player at Dave and Busters, though the most people I ever raced against simultaneously was 4 ( 5 including me). It is more fun with the motion than without.

  • I MUST LEARN how to do this on every game.

  • I saw this multiple-screen attract in an arcade seven years ago. I was so impressed with it back then. Thanks for bringing back those memories. :)

  • *Dreams of the WIN of having an 8 player Daytona in living room*

  • Three Seven Speedway had the best of views, but I'm pretty disappointed with Seaside Street Galaxy, it really looks like the single player demo.

  • Computer looks awesome, demo looks spectacular, but it would be better, if SEGA released a 16-player version.

  • What's the story with the blue sky background on the expert course? Emulation still not sorted out? Also, why are car numbers 7 and 8 out of sequence?

  • This happened because I had to kill the other clients to capture one screen at a time and then put them together. Usuaully should not happen if all are running smoothly.

  • I always thought it was damn cool how it used a bunch of screens as one in the attract mode.

  • whoaa , tats one super-computer ur havin lucisac .. any lagging when all 8 players race ?

  • These were recorded one at a time so I cannot comment on any lag...

  • how many computers did u use

  • One :)

  • woah woah woah

u couldnt had use one computer

unless it was a very large screen

  • Yes you can.

  • HOW???

thats massive lagging if you do it??

  • Not if your computer has enough power. I have an Intel i7 with 6 gigs of ram here that will run 8 instances of the emulator all linked up with no frame rate loss at all.

  • This was done on a AMD 5200+ :)

  • I kind of like the Beginner track's camera views, like when the four screens on the right pan to eventually meet up with the left screens for one lovely image. The Advanced track's views look pretty cool even with the car coming right at you through the tunnel. I'm really disappointed with the Expert track's views. It's basically the views from the Attract Mode of a single-player game. There could have been some more exciting views Sega could have provided instead. Still, a great video.

  • Yes, but they remind me of the 1993 version of Daytona USA.

  • Sega racing arcade games are fun to play solo, but the madness really begins when you are on a twin cabinet. A little more insane with four players. With eight players, it's chaos! I've seen four Daytona USA twin cabinets lined up for eight-player fun before. I'd even be inclined to say that the Attract Mode is more fun when cabinets are lined up and linked. Great video.

  • Hi John, I totally agree, this is one of the reasons a few of us over at the forum pushed for UDP compression, even though it is laggy, it is still a stepping stone to what may become fully functionaly multiplayers in the future...if someone was brave enough to reqrite the ROM's network code that is...

  • Now Sega has no excuse not to release this in a collection or dlc (with online play of course!!!)

  • SpekSNK, the forum we are in now in the other window :)

  • How is eight Player made if they do it?

  • It was a challenge, mostly due to the time it took to get this done. Recording one cab at a time after connecting up as a 4 player game, then altering all 8 cars.

  • Can 8 connect with four player games?

  • This was all done on 1 PC, all one at a time.

  • Is it to say that it does not move with 1 PC at all?

  • Yes it still moves fine.

  • Why does it move it by a fine?

  • We will continue this chat in the forum :)

  • They were never really linked. One scree was recorded at a time after killing off the slaves. It was a big job.

  • Is it running on one pc ?

    thx for answering

  • They seem to link in some scenes, probably because it's really 2 4 player demos combined using cars 1 - 8. In deluxe mode you only get the single player demo on all 8 screens.

  • Good Job! i see player 1 and 8 are not linked in pic. is this because the game is set to "twin" mode. what happends is you set it to delux?

  • O...M...F...G!
