  • It WAS released for nintendo 64. Countless eye witnesses help prove this, but no concrete proof has been found. Perhaps some crazy dude bought all the copies he could find, and that's why it's so rare.

  • This looks like Spyro.

  • You know this was reassembled for N64 and can be downloaded for emulators?

  • If this game were real life, we'd have a ton more nightmares and dream stories being shared at my site /discussyourdreams/ and a lot more people under 4 foot tall.

  • OH no IM MEEN Has stolen our dreams to force us to read Books!

  • I don't know why the game was never released. it was exactly like the ps1 version except it had no cgi cut scenes. I played it on my psp n64 emulator :p

  • This game will make my wildest dreams come true?? I must have it!

  • the anouncer seemed rushed to do this

  • To kids destined for gaming greatness?... Somethings wrong with that.

  • "Awesomely fun adventure"?!?... SIGN ME UP!

  • this looks just like banjoo kazooie

  • so 90s!!

  • the voiceover makes it sound like the best game ever!!

  • It looks fun. At least I can play it on the PS1..

  • What's funny about all of this is that this game made it to the ps1, but it was canceled for the n64. Nintendo Power even had an article on it for a strategy guide... for a game never released

  • why the N64 version has been unreleased :(

  • @carlosfcomen

Because the N6DD was a failure in Japan and was never released in the US. Because of that, games that were planned for the N64DD were either cancelded or changed development for the N64 (Example: OOT). This game either would have not worked too well on the N64 or it was too late for its development to be moved over.

  • @carlosfcomen

If this actually was just a normal N64 game, then it probably wasn't released due to either issues with the development of the game or the N64 was late in life by the time this was in development.

  • The narrator rattles off a bunch of stereotypical video game monsters that a typical gamer would likely find enticing to battle against: skeletons, spiders, flying knights, aliens...!

then he's like, "and giant moon mice!" and I'm like, "wuuut?"

  • Apparently this was finished, and there's a leaked ROM.

  • Ironic he says the dreams are CANCELED.

  • it was relaeased... but only for the playstation... i used to play it.... y not n64?... idk

  • i thought this game came out? i seen it in the magizines at the time and all.

  • Rough and Tumble! Yeah, they DEFINITELY achieved gaming greatness...

  • i remember 40 winks 64, when i used to see the advertising i was waiting for my copy of the game. but the problem was it was never out. i was like damn.

  • But Nightcap had a heart attack and the adventure was ruined...

  • Beta is thankfully out these days, and yes, it is 100% complete game, so why didn`t they release it???

  • @M1XART Because of the nintendo 64's declining sales :(

  • 12,600th to watch :D

  • brings back memories

  • Did this game ever release to GBC as it saids at the end of this video?............Just wondering.

  • I played this on the PS1. Pretty fun game, too bad it didn't get released on the N64.

  • I have the unreleased beta file ^ ^

really a shame that the N64 version was never completed because, unlike in the PSX version of the game is all graphics and looks like there where in the video.

  • @Killertamagotchi1 Like, the ROM? I didn't know it was released to the public...

  • @skyrunner14

    It was not ;-)

It is a dump of a module which time there were at the trade shows to demonstrate ^^

  • @Killertamagotchi1 Yeah, the ROM file, right? That's what I had meant, but thanks for clarifying for me. :D

  • Wow, the exaggeration in this video makes me want to vomit, lol.

  • I posted here a while ago, but i'll update now. The released rom works perfectly in Project64 using a graphical plugin called glide64 (google it). With a powerful enough pc, you can get the game working perfectly, perfect graphics and sound. Game has full voice acting, and the cutscenes that used to be FMV in the PS1 version are reanimated using the ingame engine, mimicking the FMV versions perfectly. The n64 version looks a lot better, better draw distance, texture quality, far less shaky 3D.

  • the guy at the beginning looks like ebenezer scrooge lol.

  • oh man I had this for the playstation. it was pretty dang fun. I should get it again.

  • I remember Nintendo Official Magazine made this the cover game one month and did a big preview. Did it really never come out on N64??

  • 1:14 - BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T...

lol how do you like being threatened by voiceover man!?

  • holy shit i remember this game i saw it on a demo set up for ps1 at bestbuy back in 1999 or 2000 till now i always thought it was midevil

  • BEST GAME EVER!!!!!! lol

  • He has a crab complex.

  • this trailer is chessy

  • i think its cooler than the game itself lol reminds me of banjos aussie ad

  • lil nemo?

  • I wanted to play this so much on the N64 in the UK but it never came out I was so sad, it looked like a good game

  • this game is good ,, but is it able on the pc??

  • i got the game but its kinda ruined a little.

  • Got it working on project64. Seems to replace the FMVs with cutscenes using the ingame graphical engine. The voice acting is still there. Another funny thing is that it's the old cartridge N64, not the DD. Very cool discovery!

  • The shocker? Apparently the N64 version of the game has now been dumped into a rom file. Unreleased though it is, I guess there was a finished game there. IGN supposedly made a walkthrough of the completed N64 game. But I can't get it working in project64.

  • try 1964 or mupen64 (i tried mupen it worked)

  • It works on PJ64 now. I think updating the RDB file or something makes it work. Not sure.

  • @OmegaPirate PROJECT 64

  • I remember playing the PS1 demo :P

  • this has rareware written all over it

  • That's what i kinda thought :P

  • Actually, the game was released later on, but not widely advertised.

  • I thought so, I remeber seeing reviews for it...It got typically 75% if i remeber correctly...I know it looked better than it was!

  • this game didn't get released on the N64? Weird. Heh. NIntendo Power even released a poster advertising it.

  • So, so, so, so, SO cheesy!! Ahhh! Evil Nightcap! lol

And the Winks creep me out.

    "Awesomely fun!"

That old man isn't very hip...

  • this reminds me of a nes ad, but this game looks like all the other 3d platformers

  • Got the game on my PS1, not a bad game.

But like all my other games, I got bored after the first world, went onto something else.

  • Psychonauts dealt with the subconscious and it was a lot better.

  • Banjo and Kazooie would still have ruled it.

  • Noone mentioned the actual title? It later became 'Ruff and Tumble'. I didn't know this game is so obscure - Gamefaqs also only knows an Amiga game by that name

  • did u know this game was realised in the PAL territorys, im in australia and the you were able to buy the game at the stores on n64.

  • thats beyond my wildest dreams. hehe. well. i think its a cool commercial:) kinda makes me want to try it

  • The very reason I bought my PS1! This game was not bad at all and the racing mini games were good too. Also, when you see the winks, I can tell you those were not the final draft.
