pure urdu and pure hindi are both very different form each other when spoken, the urdu/hindi/bollywood (choose what to call it) language is very different from the pure forms but yet because both languages have the same gramattical patterns we end up substituting urdu or hindi words in there and somehow everyone still understands. eg the word question is prsahna in hindi and sawaal in urdu but I hear both being used in today common hindi..... depends on where you come from really.

@Vickyfux Hindi is supposed to be Sansikrit to be fairly honest, but all u now see in Bollywood or anywhere else is Urdu "Named" hindi. which isn't fair at all. there is a fair difference in both languages' vocabulary. so yes Hindi isn't proper hindi too bcuz it should be old Indian Language. Urdu is Urdu-with Middle Eastern Islamic Influences.
