  • @TheLagunaSunrise You're an idiot.

  • @OfShadowandSubstance In a time where ignorance is the norm, speaking the truth is frowned upon and even condemned.

  • @TheLagunaSunrise I can't tell about this cuz i have absolutly no point, but i only know that this great culture ( which this song partly embodies ) will never get lost.

  • i love this song

i first heard it in Fantasia 2000

  • Watching this video in 2012!!

    I love this song!

  • Gorgeous George had it first, but Macho Man made it Famous!

  • At 4:46, come on, at least ONE picture of the Macho Man was warranted. He made this song more famous than it could have been otherwise.

  • Oooooohhhhh Yeaaaahhhh!! Dig it!!

  • So why did Lanny use the cap and gown attire, but Randy used the graduation music? Was that some inner joke in the family?

  • 65 people never graduated

  • Snap into a Slim Jim, Ohhhh Yeeeaaaaah!

  • they should use the opening part of this for sherlock on BBC one.

  • Respect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One day I will be writing my summations on Tort and sipping my Earl Gray on a dark, rich, Edwardian, solid, mahogany desk as opposed to a white plastic table.

  • music to blow your mind to....:-)

  • They've suggested this should be the English national anthem once the great day comes when we get rid of the Scots and this god damned farce of a "union" finally breaks up.

  • Awsome

  • How can it be too British?

  • This tune was composed out of love for Britannia!

  • 1:50

  • Lol 3:56 what're you staring at?

  • me gusta

  • wtf why do i hear some smacking/slapping sounds throughout the song

i paused the video at least 3 times thinking i was losing it

  • @jonting91 I think this is a recording of a live performance. I bet those are audience sounds.

  • I realize I'm a stupid ignorant shit but there's "clapping" sort of sounds like at 1:46. What the hell is that sound? I hear it in other music, too.

  • @rudy117041 It's a recording of the Live audition of "The last night of the proms"

a huge famous concert in London

  • Why is there no biopic with Daniel Day-Lewis portraying Elgar yet?

  • ahh i remember those days...i always hated them

  • @Sub2Me4Sora *crashes through wall*

  • I remember playing this song in the band for graduation for the seniors in high school.

  • @LovelyKuja so does everyone else. ugh, it was so boring.

  • @snapcrackleangela Actually, our high school plays "The Coronation March" from Star Wars. SO much better.

  • My school used a remix of this that had a hip-hop track come in halfway through to make it hip or something. Always sounded cheesy and pandering.

  • @Datelesswonders That's lame, I hate when people feel obligated to ruin classical music

  • @Datelesswonders Sounds cheesy ha.

  • 1:50 Ahhhhh, there we go xD

Gawd, can't believe a SuJu video brought me here xD

  • Fantasia ^^

  • @paulturtle92 God's a giant spagetti monster.

  • @chanchiem Only to Pastafarians. To Buddhists he is a fat guy, to "Wiccans" he is a tree, to Hindus he is a blue guy and to Judeo-Christianics he is an angry old man with a long white beard and good muscle tone.

  • MACHO MAN RANDY SAVAGE OHHHH YEEEAAAHHHHHH!

  • It is Movember in Australia! I want his Mustache of Elgar too

  • @Kennychan222 It's movember everywhere!

  • im pretty sure this is the fantasia version right?

  • Welcome to bloody England Ladies and Gentleman!

  • Hello.

    Respectfuly I want to ask:

Is this magnificent march, a part of one lerger composition?. I had heard this specific amrch is called "Land of hope and glory" and it is something like a second national anthem for England. Is pomp and circumstance a larger composition, then?

  • OOOOOOH YEAH!

  • class of 1905!

  • I'm listening to this for my music class and I'm not sad :)

  • @kimv020887 Personal choise as God save the Queen so dated & droll

  • @cranerop how about Jesus Christ Superstar theme by Andrew Lloyd Webber, which was the theme song of "SUPERSTAR" Billy Graham in WWF as national anthem?

  • @cranerop

  • @cranerop I thought that was a Turisas song...

  • @cranerop Once the monarchy is gone.

  • @cranerop Definitely, much better than God Save The Queen

"my students, you must strive hard in life, work hard, but not forget to enjoy life the way it makes sense for you... and you must never ever forger...

...TO SNAP INTO A SLIM JIM!!! OHHHHH YIIEAAAHHH!"

  • @ermonski u actually said that? Awesome man!

  • @y2joct7 nah, I'm just dreaming of doing a commencement exercise speech at my school. I'm not a person of stature to do that LOL. But still, I would dream of doing that.

    OHHHHH YIIIEEEEAHHH!

  • this will be my funeral song

  • I am a Hong Kong citizen aged 17, and I am proud to be a British more than a Chinese. Although Hong Kong has been returned to China for 14 years , lots of Hongkongers miss the colonial age.

The music reminds us the honour of being a British!=]

  • @kingtak2 Can I just ask... what is it that makes you proud of being British? I'm not trying to be sarcastic or anything, I'm just curious.

  • @Niflheim13

There are a number of things. For example, the democracy and the freedom we enjoyed in the colonial age.

These are restricted in Hong Kong now:'(

  • If I had his mustache, I would be the best boxer EVER.

  • asdfghjkl this makes me miss my class.....class of 2010!

  • @rainbowblackhole Haha hell yeah.

  • oooooooooooooo yeeeeeeeeeeah!

  • If Sir Edward Elgar was still alive, he'd be 154 years old.

  • Elgar is great but there are greater ones tham him.

  • We play an abridged version of this every year at my school's Baccalaureate service- WHY CAN"T WE PLAY SOMETHING LIKE THIS! It actually sounds BRILLIANT!

  • 1:50 things start making sense.

  • @Hixbot 1:50 looks like Hitler going rage!

  • Absolutely amazing!

  • Proud to be British!

  • The dude on 20 pound notes!!! :)

  • Very nice!

  • sounds like a king is visiting lol

  • I think I just orgasmed myself because of this music.....:D

  • Its from a last night of the BBC proms, they seemed to have dropped this section now - can't for the life of me imagine why, its fab!!

  • can anyone enlighten me as to who actually performed this particular version?

  • I've always listened to this on youtube, watching people declare their class during their senior years.

    Finally, it's my turn. 2012.

  • @ZhengStudios Dude nuttin like it...feels so good to cross that stage...all the hard work paid off

  • very cool to play

  • Favourite classical music song of all.

  • why?you've never heard the marseillaise?it's too a patriotic song but listened in all the world even by people(english for exemple)that are destinated to death in the song....

  • Playing an English patriotic song in American student graduations seems completely bizarre to me :S

  • @Sturmstoss funny you should say that!, i'm sure you know how America came about?, your oldest ancestors were most likely of varying descents, but British being the most prominent.

  • @Tusks32 I am British.

  • @Sturmstoss as in brythonic british? the original meaning?

  • @3tangle3 No. I say I am British because I was born in the United Kingdom and so were my parents and their parents and their parents etc. You know, the common meaning for calling yourself British, not some obscure meaning. So what if my ancestors were from Saxony or Normandy, I make no claim of being some "pure" British "native, I simply found the playing of the song strange at an American student graduation.

  • @Sturmstoss but it isnt the obscure meaning....it is the original meaning....the whole 1707 UK state corrupted this.....read your history

Most english are brythonic and older basque related genetics...I studied the subject for 6 years.....anglo saxon and normans really contribute very little ancestrally....Truth will win

  • it's a shame that everyone knows this song but almost no one know's who Elgar is.

  • Donald in Fantsia 2000!!!!!!!!!!

  • Class of 2012 :D

  • i read as a fun fact that this song is played at 98% of US high school graduations so i searched it but i only recognise the slow part from 2.00 in movies. LOL

  • to join once in life this event...

  • I want that mustache!!!

  • @CorporalCoward : What about the music ?

  • @CorporalCoward is that really the first thing you can think to say when you see this?

  • @zoroconite some people have no sense

  • @zoroconite hmmm well I was thinking that the moustaches was kinda small ... mines better.

  • GREAT TUNE.IM A TROMBONE PLAYER AND SUPPORT THE CLASSICS.THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST MARCHES EVER WRITTEN!

  • In these comments: Angry people quarrelling over a song's usage.

Calm down, we can all share the song. There's nothing about using it as a grad song. Swallow your pride and move on. idiots.

  • Every time I hear this song I can only think about obnoxious European judges with those white wigs and funny turtle necks, I don't know why.

  • @FractalBolt What's so obnoxious about them?

  • I tend to prefer No. 4 but this is great too

  • Music fit for a king, not some spotty faced youths.

  • @muffin8or sorry, I may be fifteen, but I do listening to this music (stereotyping git)

  • @Edgeeeey

I was referencing the fact that this is the 'graduation song.' By your interpretation of what I said I'm angry at everyone because they aren't kings.

  • @muffin8or OOOOHHHH YEAH!!! Macho King

  • @y2joct7

    ...?

  • The people laughed at the first chorus because you're only supposed to hum the first bit. Not because of some stupid graduation thing you ignorant yanks
