  • @b89w789

That is an A dimished chord ( notes D#,A,C,F# played at 5th position on the four inner strings)

  • Respect! I like your work! I respect your work! Thank a lot!

  • Is it only useful for the dominant chord?

  • what about augmented fourths ?

  • @hendrixslashmay Google Enharmonics.

  • Hi Andrew, as always you are awesome. Can you please tell me the KEY you are playing in the starting of this video ? Its looks to me like A major key. But still am confused and wanted to know the KEY you are playing in the start of this video.. I guess you are using the theory of FLAT-FIVE Substitution in the video .. Knowing the KEY would help me to study the music you played in this video. Thanks for your videos. Waiting for your reply.....!!!!.... Regards,

  • @kumarramesh46

    It's in A major.

  • @Niekpas1 Hiiiii sirrrrrrrr.. Thank you so much for telling me the scale.... Seems you are a experienced & advanced guitarist :-)))).. Thanks again..

  • @kumarramesh46

Actually, I am not a guitarist at all, haha. I'm just good at scales and chords and stuff.

  • You do a nice job on describing a somewhat complicated process. I have friends that struggle to separate a word that can mean 2 separate things and thus become muddled in the straight forward description. You use both "words" and I think that helps to eventually understand even thou they still use "their " word in their mind.

  • Hi Andrew.

Your advise is always so good and your a voice that is easy to listen too.

Today I am sure you are right, The best country players seem to mix the styles.

I can tell you much of the blues history, but jazz I think has been around about a hundred years , not sure.

I am sure you can play and teach.

I am trying to learn it but I enjoy singing and playing more than just playing.

There a Pinoy guy on America got talent his name is Luigi, he plays very well and is a fine singer.

  • Very well done I will need to write this down, I am trying to learn theory many to put jazz into my two loves which are Country and Blues music.

I keep spending money on book all the books can confuse you as you stated they call the same thing different things.

you explain this well, what is the best book on theory.

    Happy I found you

thank you so much for sharing your talent.

    Steveo

  • @steveo27545 just a heads up country and blues are jazz and jazz is country and blues so if you just study jazz you learn all three

  • Fab lesson Andrew. Very well explained.

  • oh god i love your smooth blues, Tab avaible?

  • Thanks for the video

  • Nicely presented Andrew. Tritone is very important in Jazz music as it creates chromatic bass line (ex. D min7 G7 C maj7 becomes D min7 Db7 to C maj7). Great reharmonization technique, especially for extended endings.

  • Great lesson. Very simple concept but very helpful!

  • You sound more Canadian with each video

  • @D0g63rt LOL

  • Your students are lucky

  • Thanks Andrew ..

  • Wow, this helps me quite a bit, because I was working on this sort of thing on piano, but just knew it with my fingers, and knowing that 3rd became flat 7, and vice versa, but couldn't see how to do this with guitar.

  • first :) great video!
