I've never seen a real life cop armed with anything more than a glock 18c, which if you didn't know is a plastic, semi-automatic handgun. Even then it was just in a holster and all the guy was doing was getting his car refueled.
@asteroidrules the glock 18 is the fully automatic version. I doubt that any cop would carry one. Externally it is the same as the glock 17 other than a long magazine so I bet that is what you saw. plus the long mag will fit in any of the 9mm glocks so just because you see a long mag doesn't mean it's an 18.
