@Margar02........ You are too funny!!!! I LOVE my cup and dont have to pull and tug on the blood soaked tampon string ever again!!! Im new at the "cup" community, but I so love it and I dont have to worry about counting how many tampons or pads I need for my outings or overnight trips. I wisht they I could buy more of the overseas cups.
all the comments on other cup videos have been so polite and positive, even the skeptical ones. Why are all the ignorant twerps commenting on this one?
I use a cup (Lunette) ... I would NEVER go back to using pads and tampons! Try it before you make rude comments about it. It is much cleaner and hygienic. And super easy and convenient.
Cups? Ick. How can something that's sanitary that absorbs the blood be less clean than a cup that fills with blood and you "rinse" it off and use again? No way, no thank you!
I also shower every day and wash my hands too.
Ugh, why not just shove grass or sand up yourself like women in third world countries do?
@etonks So your OWN blood that's already inside your body sitting there in a tampon is somehow cleaner then your OWN blood that's already inside your body sitting in a cup? Either way it's menstrual blood. You dump it out, wash the cup and re-insert. Do you really think it's covered in harmful bacteria all of a sudden when it was literally just inside you 5 seconds ago? DERP! Do some research and use your brain if you have one!
@Margar02 If you like the cup, nice for you. It seems dirty to me & that's that.
When you remove a tampon, it doesn't slosh or spill. There's nothing congealed. (ick) I said nothing about bacteria. Though it IS in a bacteria ridden neighborhood! Toxic Shock anyone?
Not being an arrogant, pseudo-intellectual, dirty hippie who wants everyone to say, "Oh, wow she uses the cup! How responsible, how brave! We should all admire Cup Woman!" I'll stick with my nice clean pad. Thank you very much. ick
@etonks There has never been a case of TSS associated with a menstrual cup. Bacteria in menstrual blood only gets nasty when exposed to oxygen (like on your pad!) where bacterial growth and death occur VERY rapidly. However, fresh blood inside you in an air-tight place does not promote bacterial growth. In fact, blood in a cup doesn't even have a smell. If cups really were gross and dirty and dangerous, no one would use them and they'd be banned!
@Margar02 There has been a case...yet. That's not saying that there ever will be. Things don't become banned easily. Oh easier than they become approved though. Many deaths would have to occur for anyone to take notice.
Like I said, if you like the cup, nice for you. I think and will always think it is gross. Period!...umm no pun intended.
I don't even remember how I happened upon this subject 5 or so months ago. But I think it's gross and that's that and I am not the only one who does.
@etonks but why do you think its gross? I just don't understand how some women feel that their vagina is disgusting and every thing that come into contact with is too
@CoolBeanSquadron Old dead blood, is waste. Waste is dirty.Old dead blood that is used by the body to rinse away the old dead flesh lining is waste. That's it's job. That's why it's not kept around. AND my vagina isn't old or dead thank you so I am not "afraid" of it nor do I think it's disgusting. But waste blood, is. But then it's supposed to be.
@etonks there is no risk for toxic shock because it doesn't absorb anything, the blood doesn't really congeal more that normal, the bacteria in you vagina canal are completely normal and heath and are what keep yeast infections at bay there's nothing dirty about it
@etonks woe there whats with the hate, there are a lot of reasons why its more sanitary. hey I have a shower every day too, I'm not a hippy far from it. I just got tired of having allergic reactions and infections from tampons and disposible pads and found something really comfortable and that happens to be better for my body the environment
@CoolBeanSquadron I think it's gross. Period. Oops no pun intended. You see hate? Wow, really? Lay off the coffee or whatever. I never said anything about TSS or any of the other stuff people tossed at me to "Change my mind". I didn't need a biology lesson I probably know more about my body than most of them do because I have an interest in my body & not in spewing rhetoric so others would think I'm cool. Attack the sexist guy instead. Old dead blood, is waste. Waste is dirty.
@etonks Don't really drink coffee gives me the shakes, and I hardly think I'm cool.the sexist guy is a troll so I trolled him right back. I just think the average pad and tampon companies exploit women and don't really give to shits about what's in there products and the effects they can have.I finally got frustrated enough to try anything else and couldn't be happier with the results. And it got me into the idea of cloth pads too, i find the whole thing just made me feel better about my body
As a guy I do not have a problem with a girl wearing these, as long as she doesn't spray blood all over my bathroom when removing her " menstrual cup" lol
I use the Moon Cup (US) for my menstrual protection and i absolutely love it! The benefits are overwhelming. It cost me $25 after shipping, lasts 10 years, i can wear it up to 12 hours, i can wear it overnight and swimming, it's comfortable, i can wear it BEFORE my period starts, i don't have to carry any extra's with me, it's sterile (unlike pads or tampons), it's green, it hardly EVER leaks (it's normally my fault if it does), my cramps have gotten better since using it. Yay for cups!
I would probably never use a menstral cup, not for the fact that that its reusable, just the fact that when you put it in, ive heard, you are recommended to stick your finger in your vagina and feel around the edges of the cup to make sure its open,, then when you take the cup out, all you see is a pool of your blood in cup( and I get sick just thinking of blood, so im always sick on periods) then you have to pour it in the drain, what if your at a resteraunt??
@Mehlwurm18 Yeah, the suction isn't that strong. I actually bought a diva cup and have used it twice now. I love it I was really skeptical at first but it really is great. I have no problem with the suction it's not that strong. I can't even feel the cup and since you can leave it in for up to 12 hours it's better than tampons. I feel like it makes my period easier I don't have to worry about it. Then when your periods over you just boil it in water and your done til next time.
Um, you do know that you would have to boil it each time to reduce bacteria count. Bacteria mulitply rapidly in a warm environment and if it is not sterlized and is in an internal part of the body? another form of issues.
I would not take random recommendations and I would be highly cautious of its advertisement.
@volteuse TSS has been associated with tampons, and has not been associated with menstrual cup use. the infection risk is actually LOWER. you can sterilise your cup between periods - pads and tampons are most often NOT sterile (even though they're wrapped individually). not only that, but because they don't soak up the normal moisture of your vagina, the vagina keeps it's normal PH levels, so it can better fight off infection.
I would try it but how do you wash it when you are at school or work and in a public bathroom? I suppose I could dump the blood in the toilet and hope the blood doesn't get all over the cup or make a mess on the toilet or my hand.
@juliaormond with a little bit of practice, using a cup becomes easy, and you are very unlikely to spill it. at school or work, you can simply pour water over your cup into the toilet to rinse it - bring a drink bottle or something in with you. otherwise - since they often don't have to be taken out for 10 hours, you can just plan it so that you won't have to empty your cup until you get home.
@WILDCRAZYGURL220 frankly, i don't believe you. you can't possibly bleed that much every period. if you do, you should certainly see a doctor, because there is something majorly wrong.
@WILDCRAZYGURL220 so did i its kinda of interesting to see how much you actually bleed and the shortest its ever lasted was 4 hours and this was an insane day
I have been using a mooncup for about 5 months, and it's just the best. It does take a little time to get used to inserting it and removing it, but once you get the hang of these, it's like you have no period! It's great! I am a cyclist, so it's been very useful for me :) I love my mooncup
actually it's not so bad. I'm a virgin and I have both a divacup and a mooncup. If I fold it a little while it's inside me and pull it out it's fine. I usually remove it while in the shower and simply rinse the mess down the drain. :) washing the cloth pads is easy too. I soak them in an old bucket full of water, change the water daily (cold is fine) and on laundry day I dump it into the washing machine and that gets them plenty clean. You can also boil the cup after you wash it.
Eh, my "periods" are so light at this point I only use one or two panty liners anyway (not even worth a tampon or a regular pad) because of my Mirena. So yay for Mirena. I've thought about the cup though. I wouldn't trust being able to clean the pads thoroughly enough, and I was no good with cloth diapers when I tried them, either LOL. So for now I'll stick to disposable, but if I get off of birth control, maybe I'll try the cup.
I think the cup is a great idea, I have NEVER flushed tampons down the toilet as it's sick and so many sea animals are choked on the plastic applicators. Those alternative pads on the other hand - fuck no!.
i agree with you i would never flush a tampon. it is gross the tampons also clog drains a lot and i wouldn't want to be pulling tampons out of the drain. i wouldn't want to use an alternative pad it seems really gross and unsanitary eww. having a bloody pad in your purse doesn't appeal to me.
maybe that's why fish smell like they do because they eat the tampons that some nasty chicks flush causing them to smell like fish or in some nasty ass cases DEAD FISH OR BURNING RUBBER
every time i go fishing in the rivers near my home i find many many tampon aplicators its disgusting think about it i bet fish eat the actual tampons because most all fish like blood and odd scents maybe thats why fish
one box of tampons cld last me 2 yrs. but now im on birth control and i dont have per. anymore and medicaid pays for that so i think i save more money my way =)
I take birth control too but only to treat polycystic ovary. lol without them I eiether don't have a period or they don't go away. I used to hate dealing with the blood every month but now I look forward to it since I started my washable pads and cup. :)
I wish I would have heard about the cup sooner. It is the closest I've come to feeling like I don't have a period at all...aside from the cramps and chocolate cravings lol. I can't believe this isn't being marketed....lots of vested interests to battle against I suppose! I thought it would be gross, too, but it's nothing like tampons or pads. I will never wear those again!!!
no different to using a pad, the blood is till inside you when you use that method, and may flow around a little before coming out. But remember, your own blood is not your enemy! It is your body's way of dealing with not being pregnant.
The blood doesn't have an endless tunnel to float around in or mess up!! the cervix opens only enough to allow the blood to pass out of it, and will not go back up. If your cup, and the tiny space behind it was full, it will overflow, like a tampon, but usually after a longer time than a tampon.
I have a mild allergic reaction to disposable pads and tampons. They give me some sort of rash and I spend the entire period itchy.
Eventually I found reusable pads and the Cup, which eliminated the rash. My periods have been so much easier to deal with! And even though I hated tampons (always felt them, very uncomfortable), I had no problem with the Cup.
If this is your first time hearing about these products, please research before you say "no"! You might be surprised what you find! :)
I tried a few products a couple months ago and I absolutely love washables. I've only tried one brand of washable pads thus far but I may try others. :) In any case the only disposable pads I have now are leftovers from before I got my lunapads and divacup! :D I get that rash too (I wear pantyliners every day and now have cloth ones I just put in the laundry with my undies) and it's almost gone now. :)
Because your blood goes into a landfill site on a product that won't break down for god knows how long. It's so wasteful and I find that way more disgusting than something that will prevent the wastefulness that western society has come to accept. Also, commercial pads and tampons contain lots of damaging chemicals that can upset the natural balance of the vagina (and are also bad for the environment) and having yeast infections isn't my idea of a great time, I'd say that's pretty gross too.
I only have to imagine trying to deal with it all and then hand soaking the pads in cold water, washing them in separate loads. The rigamarole with putting the darn cup in when periods are so heavy and clotting.
Women with light periods have no clue. We are in modern day for a reason.
If women support these products that is fine and their choice. But I don't have to see it more than once to know it is not for me.
@wwwpower1 actually, if you do a little research on the net, you will find that many women with very heavy periods including clots, find the cup MUCH easier and better. the cup won't leak, like a tampon will, and it holds more - so you change it less often. the cups can hold clots - tampon's can't (ever have nasty bloody clots fall out onto your hand after pulling out your tampon? - EW)
TMI, but I appreciate the information. I am past that phase in my life now and had not heard of the improvements on the cup. However, some women do hemorrage bleed during that time and they for sure should be seeing a doctor.
I love my cup! I recently switched to a lunette and it's perfect. If you have tried a cup and it didn't work for you, try a different brand. I had to go through two brands to find the perfect one for me.
What about sea sponge? I heard a couple of women talking about this years ago. They collect sea sponge from the beach, rinse it, and cut it into tampon size pieces, and they are reusable.
I'm glad people are discussing alternatives that are better for your health and the environment.
I have a microperforate hymen--- meaning its really thick and covers almost all of my opening, so i must stick to pads for the time being. So to any girl who wants to use alternative menstrual products but cant because of a problem like mine, reusable cloth pads are AWESOME! get dark colors if you worry about stains, hydrogen peroxide gets it all out anyways. I LOVE MY CLOTH PADS!!! thanks for spreading the word :)
I am very content with my menstrual cup (Lunette)!
Very comfortable to wear, no "hygienic material" to carry around during the period, easy to change (with a little practise), no drying of the vagina even on days with less flow, lower risc of mycosis, can even be inserted when you only suspect your period to come.
hmmm...menstrual cup...I like the idea of saving a freaking ton of money with that idea. I don't mind tampons but...the idea of saving that much money...I like that idea a lot.
OMG pushing the enviroment thinking way to far. Stupid completly stupid. Start thinking bigger and less about that. My god this was one of the most stupid videos ever and the inventors I belive (or I hope) did not make one dime of that bullshit!
Actually, the environment IS a big deal. Over 20 billion disposable pads/tampons and their packaging getting dumped in the beaches and landfills EVERY year, just in the USA alone?? That's more than massive. And thankfully, menstrual cup and cloth mad makers are doing VERY well int heir sales. Have been for decades, and will continue to.
Is there a reason you want to send hate mail on this video? Because I don't see any reason in there, only the immature argument "this is so stupid". You probably don't care at all about your body, your money, or the environment, and you might as well leave negative comments to yourself if that's all you're going to say.
Well, back in the day women just wrapped themselves with cloths... There were no diapers back then, either... And they didn't call it "reusable pad", either =P As for the cup, friggin heck, it's painful enough when a cotton tampon is inserted at a bad angle - you're suggesting a plastic cup? Besides, can you imagine having to urgently change it when you're out? Jeez.... The South Park team was right when they mentioned "Cherokee Hair Tampons"
They're not plastic, they are flexible, soft, silicone. Its no harder to empty and clean a cup when you are out than it is to change a pad or tampon. You just take some bottled water into a public wash room (or wet a paper towl). Then you take the cup out, empty it in the toilet, and rinse it with the water or wipe with the paper towel. Then put it back in. When you get home, give it a good wash. Just takes a minute or two, no biggie. And they are soft, so they don't hurt at all.

Eeekk!, my missus hates tampon adds BUT would freek out even more at this idea. Can't believe they thought this ikkky idea would catch on. Don't know why I watched this.
Nothing wrong with a mentrual cup. They are heigenic. Made from soft, flexible, medical grade silicone (not the kind in breast implants, its different). This silicone is bacteria resistent, so no deseases can grow on them. You take it out and clean it several times a day, just like you change tampons and pads. So there is nothing dirty about it. And they are VERY comfortable, they don't hurt.
That's your opinion and you're, obviously, welcome to it. Oh and thanks for permenantly supressing my comment with the 6th and final thumbs down. Bet you're one of those who thinks protesting against criminal government acts should be outlawed. No?.. well why deny me free speech then?. I don't mind that you don't share my opinion, I do mind that you should try and prevent my opinion from being known.
Just because it's got a "thumbs down" doesn't mean you can't see it.Whether I agree or disagree with your comment had nothing to do with how I rated it. You were simply being immature. And just because I give something a negative rating, does not mean I choose for it to not be shown.I DO believe in free speech, however you're not understanding I HAVE NO CONROL OVER HOW YOUTUBE DEALS WITH THESE THINGS.
I have seen useful comments that were suppressed by youtube's site, and I AGREE WITH PROTESTING
you can still use them is your hymen is intact. them gone is different sizes and because they sit lower down than tampons it wouldnt break your hymen dont worry :)
Well, Ive had my period for this month now, and it went fine, dont now if that freakin-annoying hymen did break, but guess that I would have felt it, if I did. It was much nicer than tampons, and I adore my Lunette Cup already. It took a little time to set it up the first couple days -without the hymen being in the way, by maybe it has extended a bit now, goes much easier .
And I dont care if the hymen breaks or not, means non the me;)
Actually, it WILL break your hymen. The hymen is a piece of skin (thin like plastic wrap) that covers the bottom half of the ENTRANCE of the vagina. So since it covers the entrance, there is no way to get anything into the vagina without damaging it.
Note: The hymen isn't a piece of skin, the labia are made of skin, while the hymen is really just a bunch of nerve cells.
Not every girl is born with a hymen, and not every hymen is the same. Only about 30% of girls bleed if the hymen is broken (which doesn't always happen), and the hymen is usually just slowly eroded away.
Important fact: Unless you were born without one, every female has at least some of her hymen left until she gives vaginal birth.
They have the ability to break it just like fingers or tampons. If you are careful, you don't have to break it. I've ready countless reviews where girls still have their hymen while using a cup.

Well what can I say, the commercials are silly, so if that's not an invitation to be a little silly, then I apologise to all those 'feminists' out there. Wow...I can smell the oestrogen from here.
mmm, sadly, this isn't quite the forum for joking about menstruation...you see, its full of women...and many of them probably with feminist backgrounds.
She forgot to talk about "Insteads" which is a product like the mooncup but its disposable. I really love it and I dont have to think about cleaning it. Although, you may have to order it online. Since I started using them I have not bought a tampon or pads in years.
I think she didn't mention it because they aren't environmentally friendly, and last time I checked they cost hell lot of money compared to fabric pads (they are super EASY to make yourself if you just have most basic sewing abilities, and the cost is something like 50 cents per pad...)
I think it's supposed to be humorous, as in the common English phrase "that's bloody marvelous !" If you're that worried about the word "bloody", warn your friends in advance.
Nice vid. :) Small moon cup is my favourite. I really love mooncups! Really comfortable when you get used to them, and save money and nature! They might look scary or huge at first, but I cant even feel my mooncup when i place it right. :) Makes me forget that im on my periods. No more uncomfortable and itchy pads!
This is a prime example why women should not be allowed to make films. For example,Its like when men & woman drive, men drive for everyone on the road when women (bad drivers) drive for themselve. The same works for film makers, men make films for everyone to enjoy while women make shit like this.

I would probably never use a menstral cup, not for the fact that that its reusable, just the fact that when you put it in, ive heard, you are recommended to stick your finger in your vagina and feel around the edges of the cup to make sure its open,, then when you take the cup out, all you see is a pool of your blood in cup( and I get sick just thinking of blood, so im always sick on periods) then you have to pour it in the drain, what if your at a resteraunt??

can the suction be bad for you? Can it hurt your insides?
biscuit166 1 year ago
@biscuit166
that is exactly what i am worried about, too - have you found out anything about this yet?
Mehlwurm18 1 year ago
@Mehlwurm18 Yeah, the suction isn't that strong. I actually bought a diva cup and have used it twice now. I love it I was really skeptical at first but it really is great. I have no problem with the suction it's not that strong. I can't even feel the cup and since you can leave it in for up to 12 hours it's better than tampons. I feel like it makes my period easier I don't have to worry about it. Then when your periods over you just boil it in water and your done til next time.
biscuit166 1 year ago
@biscuit166
Um, you do know that you would have to boil it each time to reduce bacteria count. Bacteria mulitply rapidly in a warm environment and if it is not sterlized and is in an internal part of the body? another form of issues.
I would not take random recommendations and I would be highly cautious of its advertisement.
Just saying.

Re-usable things aren't bad... But honestly, will USE pads and tampons.... Those things are great honestly... Just think about infections...
volteuse 1 year ago
@volteuse TSS has been associated with tampons, and has not been associated with menstrual cup use. the infection risk is actually LOWER. you can sterilise your cup between periods - pads and tampons are most often NOT sterile (even though they're wrapped individually). not only that, but because they don't soak up the normal moisture of your vagina, the vagina keeps it's normal PH levels, so it can better fight off infection.

I would try it but how do you wash it when you are at school or work and in a public bathroom? I suppose I could dump the blood in the toilet and hope the blood doesn't get all over the cup or make a mess on the toilet or my hand.
juliaormond 1 year ago
@juliaormond with a little bit of practice, using a cup becomes easy, and you are very unlikely to spill it. at school or work, you can simply pour water over your cup into the toilet to rinse it - bring a drink bottle or something in with you. otherwise - since they often don't have to be taken out for 10 hours, you can just plan it so that you won't have to empty your cup until you get home.
ferriswheeljunkie 1 year ago
where would you rinse the cup out not in a basin or bath that faces are washed in. so where
MELONSCOFFER 1 year ago
I think that is a product for very few women.
1. My cycles were horrendous and required 3 days of being close to a bathroom for frequent changes.
2. my cycle lasted 10 days.
3. the sterilizing of the cup would cost money and be a pain.
4. can't imagine the mess dealing with it all.
5. seems like going to dark ages.
reusing - seems unhygenic.

I heard menstrual cups arent for virgins though.
XxPnuemaxX 1 year ago
actually it's not so bad.
Northstar1982 1 year ago
Eh, my "periods" are so light at this point I only use one or two panty liners anyway (not even worth a tampon or a regular pad) because of my Mirena. So yay for Mirena. I've thought about the cup though. I wouldn't trust being able to clean the pads thoroughly enough, and I was no good with cloth diapers when I tried them, either LOL. So for now I'll stick to disposable, but if I get off of birth control, maybe I'll try the cup.
faeriemama2007 2 years ago
I think the cup is a great idea, I have NEVER flushed tampons down the toilet as it's sick and so many sea animals are choked on the plastic applicators. Those alternative pads on the other hand - fuck no!.
NatGrays 2 years ago
i agree with you i would never flush a tampon. it is gross the tampons also clog drains a lot and i wouldn't want to be pulling tampons out of the drain. i wouldn't want to use an alternative pad it seems really gross and unsanitary eww. having a bloody pad in your purse doesn't appeal to me.

mini1luv 2 years ago 3

dothepencilx3 2 years ago
no different to using a pad, the blood is till inside you when you use that method, and may flow around a little before coming out. But remember, your own blood is not your enemy! It is your body's way of dealing with not being pregnant.
no1pearlgirl 2 years ago
The blood doesn't have an endless tunnel to float around in or mess up!! the cervix opens only enough to allow the blood to pass out of it, and will not go back up. If your cup, and the tiny space behind it was full, it will overflow, like a tampon, but usually after a longer time than a tampon.
no1pearlgirl 2 years ago
I have a mild allergic reaction to disposable pads and tampons. They give me some sort of rash and I spend the entire period itchy.
Eventually I found reusable pads and the Cup, which eliminated the rash. My periods have been so much easier to deal with! And even though I hated tampons (always felt them, very uncomfortable), I had no problem with the Cup.
If this is your first time hearing about these products, please research before you say "no"! You might be surprised what you find! :)
draw2much 2 years ago 22
I tried a few products a couple months ago and I absolutely love washables. I've only tried one brand of washable pads thus far but I may try others. :) In any case the only disposable pads I have now are leftovers from before I got my lunapads and divacup! :D I get that rash too (I wear pantyliners every day and now have cloth ones I just put in the laundry with my undies) and it's almost gone now. :)

BethLaura123x 2 years ago

But I don't have to see it more than once to know it is not for me.
wwwpower1 1 year ago
@wwwpower1 actually, if you do a little research on the net, you will find that many women with very heavy periods including clots, find the cup MUCH easier and better. the cup won't leak, like a tampon will, and it holds more - so you change it less often. the cups can hold clots - tampon's can't (ever have nasty bloody clots fall out onto your hand after pulling out your tampon? - EW)

Try it out!

Of course, you haven't heard of it before because more money can be made off of a disposable product that must be re-purchased each month.
echolalia0 2 years ago 4
Actually, the environment IS a big deal. Over 20 billion disposable pads/tampons and their packaging getting dumped in the beaches and landfills EVERY year, just in the USA alone?? That's more than massive. And thankfully, menstrual cup and cloth mad makers are doing VERY well int heir sales. Have been for decades, and will continue to.
MenstrualCupInfo 2 years ago 4
Is there a reason you want to send hate mail on this video? Because I don't see any reason in there, only the immature argument "this is so stupid". You probably don't care at all about your body, your money, or the environment, and you might as well leave negative comments to yourself if that's all you're going to say.
shadowofbeauty 2 years ago
Well, back in the day women just wrapped themselves with cloths... There were no diapers back then, either... And they didn't call it "reusable pad", either =P As for the cup, friggin heck, it's painful enough when a cotton tampon is inserted at a bad angle - you're suggesting a plastic cup? Besides, can you imagine having to urgently change it when you're out? Jeez.... The South Park team was right when they mentioned "Cherokee Hair Tampons"
NeuroticPixieSlasher 3 years ago
They're not plastic, they are flexible, soft, silicone. Its no harder to empty and clean a cup when you are out than it is to change a pad or tampon. You just take some bottled water into a public wash room (or wet a paper towl). Then you take the cup out, empty it in the toilet, and rinse it with the water or wipe with the paper towel. Then put it back in. When you get home, give it a good wash. Just takes a minute or two, no biggie. And they are soft, so they don't hurt at all.

And they are VERY comfortable, they don't hurt.

passionsfrugt02 3 years ago
you can still use them is your hymen is intact. them gone is different sizes and because they sit lower down than tampons it wouldnt break your hymen dont worry :)
icaj19 3 years ago
Well, Ive had my period for this month now, and it went fine, dont now if that freakin-annoying hymen did break, but guess that I would have felt it, if I did. It was much nicer than tampons, and I adore my Lunette Cup already. It took a little time to set it up the first couple days -without the hymen being in the way, by maybe it has extended a bit now, goes much easier .
And I dont care if the hymen breaks or not, means non the me;)
passionsfrugt02 3 years ago 2
You might not have a hymen. About one in every five women are born without one.
MenstrualCupInfo 3 years ago 2
actually, if your hymen is intact you should know that the cup is not the best alternative for you as it may break the hymen with use. sorry.
menspeakout 3 years ago
Actually, it WILL break your hymen. The hymen is a piece of skin (thin like plastic wrap) that covers the bottom half of the ENTRANCE of the vagina. So since it covers the entrance, there is no way to get anything into the vagina without damaging it.
MenstrualCupInfo 3 years ago 3
Note: The hymen isn't a piece of skin, the labia are made of skin, while the hymen is really just a bunch of nerve cells.
Not every girl is born with a hymen, and not every hymen is the same. Only about 30% of girls bleed if the hymen is broken (which doesn't always happen), and the hymen is usually just slowly eroded away.
Important fact: Unless you were born without one, every female has at least some of her hymen left until she gives vaginal birth.
Look it up if you have doubts.
shadowofbeauty 2 years ago
They have the ability to break it just like fingers or tampons. If you are careful, you don't have to break it. I've ready countless reviews where girls still have their hymen while using a cup.

This is a prime example why women should not be allowed to make films. For example,Its like when men & woman drive, men drive for everyone on the road when women (bad drivers) drive for themselve. The same works for film makers, men make films for everyone to enjoy while women make shit like this.
