I was born on the 26th August, the day they released this song; I´m a die hard fan of their tunes, specially their unique melodies. A sort of highlanders in the world of music made with passion and essence... they´d live forever... anxiously waiting for their new album: english electrics... probably the last but not least... long live OMD...
@terinhos I couldn't have said it any better. They had a unique sound. I also like their earlier songs from the late 1970s and early 1980s. By the mid-1980s they were more synth rock but who cares?
Another great band being uploaded to youtube so we who heard them the first time around can reconnect with great music and for those too young to have heard it to discover how great the music was back then.thanks for posting this
if you had to pick a song that describe the 80's , I think this song has to be consider in the Top 10. doesn't matter what category of music. it has "IT" , simple really.
I'm from Mexico and the OMD 'all-time classics' playing on the radio are "So in Love", "Secret", "If You Leave", "Enola Gay", and occasionally, this song. I've never heard about "Locomotion", "Electricity" or else, before YouTube, So it's not equal all around the world
'I don't know why', what do u mean very under-rated band???... This is the only real big hit they really ever had!! It's quite different and unique from the rest of the 1980's UK bands such as Simple Minds, U2, and Simply Red. And those bands produced better songs and many more in that period. But this song is very unique with its style. But a good one, in fact!! ;-)
@MumboJumboisallitalk they had a few other big "hits". Electricity, Locomotion, and Joan of Arc (maid of Orleans)... so, not really a one hit wonder ey : )
@llllExTreMellll - OK, maybe a 2-hit wonder then. I forgot "Locomotion", which was a pretty big hit. 'Across every ocean...For the sake of Locomotion...But I wouldn't have a notion...How to save my soul' Are u happy now, big girl?? They were the only 2 hits that they actually had.
@llllExTreMellll - OK, maybe a 2-hit wonder then. I forgot "Locomotion", which was a pretty big hit. 'Across every ocean...For the sake of Locomotion...But I wouldn't have a notion...How to save my soul'. Are u happy now, big girl?? They were the only 2 hits that OMD actually had, around the world. The others didn't or never really chart. Maybe in the UK they did, where they're from. And the world doesn't revolve around England or the UK, or even the US. Even tho it may with the latter nation!
@llllExTreMellll - Crying??... LMFAO You are a F'n joke!! The UK is in Europe. The songs you're mentioning weren't big all around the world. You have misinformed yourself. And I was right about those 2 hits were only big around the world that OMD made. Enola Gay is a big Gay song!!
@CanYouSayTailLights - FUCK U CUNT!!! My comment is old over a month ago. I made this just before the New Year!! So it is pretty old. Now you want to come in and have your "15mins of fame", and start slagging off others on their comments. So... FUCK YOU!!!
@MumboJumboisallitalk What a stupid moron. How many IQ points do you owe? All of them. Sounds like you're on the rag. You should try Kotex next time and stop being an annoying whiny little Bitch. Nothings like you are what's bringing this nation down. Just stupid, brainless punks whos only joy in life is being an idiot. Go play on the freeway and do us all a favor K?
@CanYouSayTailLights1 - I don't need any IQ points to prove anything, Fag!! Maybe u need the "Thumbs up" from so many, just for u to think that u need to prove a valid point. I think you're problem is, is that you're on Kotex too much!! Yeh, so what if I love to bring down the US!! You are War-crims anyway!! So just go jump off a building!! So, can u say TailLights???... What kind of a bloody stupid UID is that anyway??...
@noelreverberation - So if you're saying you're Italian... For FUCK sake, didn't u know that Italy was in Europe??... People from other nations in Europe might as well say, they're from those nations as well!!
@MumboJumboisallitalk i don't speak english very well , bot i can say you're so stupid . if you don't like omd and if you stay here only to insult other people ,go out of this video . please
