LOL! Francis Chan looks weird in a suit and tie! lol. He's respecting the house I guess. Some churches wouldnt have you preaching in flip flops or t-shirts. Wise man. Love Pastor Chan. BUT WHAT'S UP with putting him up on a mountain to preach like Moses? Then they got the 400 inch plasma from Best Buy? Who designed this place? lol Really? Going up for an altar call would be like climbing Mount Sinai to meet God foreal!! lol. hey just jokes. everyones different I guess.

@krispykr33m2 Francis Chan isn't necessarily lacking in a positive mindset. I have found his sermons very eye opening. he shows the basic truths from God's Words without sugarcoating it. I believe its good to hear sermons sometimes that aren't necessarily lighthearted or something that makes us feel good inside. i Would ecourage you to watch some other video of Francis Chan.

He proclaims that HE built this school for Ugandan orphans and how HIS church members sponsor these kids, but where was the credit given to GOD? HE (GOD) built it and blessed them, not Francis Chan. All around the general purpose of the message was good, loving Jesus, but it seemed like a watered down, feel good message. Christian Hedonism is good, but it must involve a reverence or almost fear of God. all too often the LOVE is taught while the wrath is ignored. any conviction in this message?

i can appreciate your concern over this, but i can assure that francis always give the glory to God, in every way. you should read his book, Crazy Love. "feel good" is the last way I would describe his messages.

you obviously have not heard ANY of francis chan's other preachings. go to google and look up his church's website. PLENTY OF MESSAGES WITH WRATH. remember... we are quick to criticize our brothers in christ instead of praying that the message spoken would bring conviction, and bring a person to repentance. Not judgment but prayer. As paul said.. we plant and water but in the end it's God who grows the seed, who brings a person to Himself. if it was ALL wrath, wrath, wrath then where's joy?

I did not read the surrounding comments, but i just want to add that joy is found in the grace of God which through Jesus Christ saves us from God's wrath. That's where joy comes from.

You have badly missed the point. In Revelation God says blessed are those who have fed the hungry etc..., and also that it is more blessed to give than receive. Francis Chan is establishing that we are responsible to God for how me respond to the "least of these" and that it is this giving that brings real fullfillment not driving a new mercedes, etc... Like others have recommended, read Crazy Love and you'll see you are a bit off on your assesment.

I agree. I agree that we must act in such a way to imitate Jesus, but remembering that Jesus is divine, and we are not. Remembering Jesus is more than a moral role model. So for that reason, we revere God. If anything I would say that suffering does only show the frailty of life and the calling to love, but that it also teaches us to give glory to God in suffering (which we will inevitably face).

you're right. i don't know where i was going but we will be conformed to the image of His Son - there is no doubt. i think that i would amend my statement to drive the point that the power, righteousness, LOVE, that is in Christians is alien. It is the power, righteousness, and love of Christ. We don't become conformed in His image by "I want this... I love this... I'll do this..." We become conformed because HE loved us, not that we loved Him. The obedience IS the sanctification.

If YOU don't know him--watch the 3 preeches he did about "YOU ARE THE BELOVED" amazing knowledge about heart-soul & mind.
