Julian was born as the Beatles became an international phenomenon. John was an absentee father then (understandable)...In 1968 Julian was 5 years old and his parents divorced. As a child Julian was very well taken care. Paul wrote Hey Jude, which was initially named "Hey Jules" to help console young Julian. Paul changed the name of the song for melodic reasons.

Julian was not in the "will" but did get over $25,000,000 in a settlement and got a large record catalog of John's works.
