well me3, i though sumsorda firefight where u can play as crew members(garrus, tali, wrex, liara,etc.) and u can level up. Thered be normal waves and thered b boss waves(heavey mechs, krogan warlords, etc.
So Pinnacle Station and Arrival were the last DLC's for both games that turned out rather unimpressive, I wonder what this spells out for any DLC in Mass Effect 3...
@GodofWar747582 yea i would like that too mostly the horde/survival mode like gears of war 2 had and also have a separate coop mission mode that you could do sort of like how Red Dead Redemption and Uncharted 2 had, but for the main story mode i would want that to be strictly single player only. but as far as versus multiplayer goes i do not want to even think about that in a mass effect game.

Actually, the only fun part would he Admiral Adhern's "special mission". Perhaps the most intense fight i ever had in mass effect (on insanity that is).
I thought this would be funner if you ask me, the DLC that is. Atleast i got some decent xp from this. I heard if this DLC was in Mass Effect 2 then it would of been better due to the superior combat. I have yet to play ME2 but i believe them :P

@xXdeathmagnetic97Xx Because that's their job, they're critics. They have to be harsh in every review they do, and if they can't find jack shti wrong with it, then that means it's damn good. The review is for everyone, some may not be as into the game as you are, and may not want/have the $5 to spend on this pack. If every review for every DLC was nice and friendly, a lot of people would get pissed off, and the reviewer would sadly be blamed. That's why they "talk shit."
Just downloaded and finished this. Wasn't too bad... It is ridiculously difficult considering it is an assignment... The challenge is good, but it should be an extra for an achievement for it to be that hard, not just the base assignment... I was on insanity but I died more times in ONE of the 13 tasks than in the rest of the game put together... Still, worth a buy for £3...
@Azinokin i did too, I felt like IGN was kinda harsh on this dlc. I think what the developers intended to do was to expand more time in combat rather than traveling in the mako.
not to mention if you don't have a level60 soilder , vanguard or infiltrator forget about getting the achievements . This is artificially challenging meaning they have unrealistic goals for some classes and it is actually impossible to get 1st place on all the score boards . Oh well better do this with my level 60 vanguard .
@InsaneBlaze23 I did it with my level 60 engineer after not playing for a while , I come back about 2 years later to finish it up and get the rest of my achievements (never before played it so I never heard the negative hype because I blindly purchased it and forgot) . I was in disbelief in how awful it was . You should have seen the look on my face lol . The happy ending ? Yes I got all the achievements and can die a happy ME fan , deleted from hard drive . The anger prevents me from ME2 man..
@NWNisFUN ME2 is maybe the best if not one of the best xbox games.
The detail and time in the games is amazing, other than characters and graphic 1 & 2 r not that much alike. I preordered and bought it when it first game out back in January, in till this day I sumtimes go back in play it. it's fun! In fact G4 has a game of the year thing, ME2 is going up vs Starcraft in the finale. All ME fanboys should go vote.
It includes game features that MOST games have. Time Trial, Survival Mode etc etc. Its not like Bring Down the Sky, where you can actually do a mission and there is a story line. Hell, it even effects Mass Effect 2's story line. Well, slightly.
But I think the Devs were too busy with Mass Effect 2 and wanted to focus on THAT instead of DLC's. And it shows. They were REALLY busy with ME2, and they really showed how much time and effort they put into it.
@CarlosIsDown Keep in mind that in ME2, nothing drastically changes. Even some decisions you made in the first game don't really effect ME2. The Developers said that every decision you made in the past Mass Effect games will bring in a FULL FORCE in part 3.
Anywho, Bring Down the Sky, like I said it only SLIGHTLY effects it. By that I mean you get mail by one of the survivors of Bring down the sky, and a news report.
IMO one of Mass Effects biggest design flaws was not adding an instant action mode on the main menu or some type of training place somewhere, especially since MA has an interesting tactical action thingy.
Most RPGs have places where you get to practice combat :/

if you like ME 1 combat and would like a time trial / arena version of it then buy it.

@MariovsHalo95 I got so frustrated with BW for not even keeping fans informed about DLC and if we could or couldn't finish the game that I boycotted this DLC and simply finished my games hovering over Ilos and just waited for ME2 to come out. Based on this review, it was a good idea. I loved ME but this fan doesn't like owning a game for a year + and not knowing if he can or can't finish it to play additional content. BW is NOT entitled to my money just because I'm a fan.

Also i would disagree that the rewards for the mission suck since when you get access to the personal computer you can get level X or VII gear relatively early in the game if you have the money to pay for it (i didnt even get gear like that during my whole first playthrough), the random function is annoying tho, pain in the ass to reload all those times when i get an item i don't need.
One thing to say about this DLC is that it is the most hardcore thing in mass effect 1, at least it was when i finished it on the hardest difficulty level, i retried some missions like 10 times to finish it, was actually close to just turning down the difficulty at times just so i could end it.
This acually does work like a training simulator for players too, if you didn't quite know how to fight in ME1 then if you finish this you will deffinately have learned how to do it.
Seriously mass effect dlc gets so much shit from reviewers and I don't know why. I never downloaded the dlc for mass effect 1 but I've downloaded nearly every major price of dlc for mass effect 2 and they've all been worth the price and wait.

Im at an advantage though, I guess, since I still have yet to complete the game. So even if the game didnt get the expansions that we all expected, ME2 is good enough for me.
they could of done so much more with this dlc. As the story could of been you are forced to stay within the station and forced to go in the similator and fight for freedom. sounds a little cliche, but its better then the story for it anway.

He's referring to the "endgame" where you no longer have access to the Normandy for flying around. In other words, the point in the game where you can't do any more side missions at all, like Bring Down the Sky or even just the little assignments built into the CD. In other words, as long as you can get to the galaxy map, you can do the DLC. Not before you can pilot the Normandy, and not after you leave in the Mako for the last time to fight on Ilos.
yeah these DLC's are filler, i was alright though, i bought them for the 400pts each and a dragon age dlc ( wardens keep) so thats 3 peices of DLC from EA , thus granting me 800pts by 30th jan ( so i got them for free ! now i can buy mass 2 DLC!)
pinacel station was not bad but fun and yes the expantion was worth the 5 doallars it just thet iam stuck on time tral and it very esay to get the aciment and when you just want to shoot some mercs or geth you can play the dlc althow it was confusing at first you get the hang of it and start to like the dlc but the revewer mosi likely spen 10 minutes on each map
if u dont have a credit card its not $5. you have to go out and buy MS points which cost $20 so you have 1200 points left over that u cant return. thats why i buy dlc in bulk
I was really disappointed by this DLC. I mean come on, a combat simulator? I think you should only buy it if you want achievements or you wan to level up your character faster. other than that, don't buy it and save those 5 bucks for ME2.
The DLC is all filler. I downloaded "Bring Down The Sky" and finished the main quest in about 30 mins. after that I decided to not buy Pinnacle Station because of how bad BDTS was. Save your money for ME2. I'm quite confident it will be MUCH better!
The first few were fun but, yeah, quickly got old. The last simulation (that gets you the apartment) is funner and in my opinion the only real battle worth fighting in the DLC. The only reason I'd get it for is if you are planning on being a Mass Effect completionist or if you have hopes that the apartment reward might come in handy later on in the sequels.

the battles, which is all the DLC contains, are ridiculously broken (Insanely easy on veteran, but nigh impossible on insanity, the difficulty skyrockets astronomically and uncontrollably) and the rewards are completely worthless. (A new gun, which will never compare to Spectre gear, and a tiny house)

one little point, i really wish reviewers wouldn't put videos up with custom characters, use the one that comes standard with the game, we've seen that in the promo material even if we played our own one.
the beauty of the game is you can start a new game with ur current character and keep ur same level too... probly might take you 2 or 3 times playing threw to get level 60

yep just start a new game and then it should say something like select user ID and you should see ur beaten game file with the current level. Even kept all ur goodies too...

I bought this for 400 MS Points. True, it's not as good as Bring Down The Sky, but that's because it had a decent storyline to it, and motherfucking cool Batarians. This, for what it is, is definitely worth it. It's got a ton of cool combat scenarios, and that's it really. But then again I really liked the Multiplayer time trial stuff on resident Evil 5 so...
Although the critisicm, I'm gettin' this one and the "Bring down the sky"-DLC... When buyin' those cheap 800 MP, why not buy 'em both when they go for 400 MP piece...?

Clear system cache.
Download Pinnacle Station to hard-drive.
Re - install Bring Down the Sky from Bonus Disc.

IMO one of Mass Effects biggest design flaws was not adding an instant action mode on the main menu or some type of training place somewhere, especially since MA has an interesting tactical action thingy.
Most RPGs have places where you get to practice combat :/

Proclaiming that the original (full priced) game is their favorite game ever but because the new game is 1000 or 1200 ms points theyll not buy it
if you like ME 1 combat and would like a time trial / arena version of it then buy it.
BCos its light on the rpg aspects ill give it a miss and do something better with my time

@MariovsHalo95 I got so frustrated with BW for not even keeping fans informed about DLC and if we could or couldn't finish the game that I boycotted this DLC and simply finished my games hovering over Ilos and just waited for ME2 to come out. Based on this review, it was a good idea. I loved ME but this fan doesn't like owning a game for a year + and not knowing if he can or can't finish it to play additional content. BW is NOT entitled to my money just because I'm a fan.

@RedaktionUploader Alright, then let me put it this way. It is my opinion that the second one is better. You can not object to opinion. RPGs are really annoying to me, shooters are more fun for me. The only reason I bought Mass Effect 1 is to import a bunch of stuff into Mass Effect 2.

@RedaktionUploader Hey, man, from the look of it these games are only gonna get more awesome as they progress. So, when Mass Effect 3 comes out I could careless what category it falls under. All I care is that it is fun and not at all irritable like the first game. Seriously, the Mako levels pissed me off, the overloading guns feature was bullshit and those grenades don't do shit. I hope in the third one they have dismemberment blood and gore like in Gears of War!!

Also i would disagree that the rewards for the mission suck since when you get access to the personal computer you can get level X or VII gear relatively early in the game if you have the money to pay for it (i didnt even get gear like that during my whole first playthrough), the random function is annoying tho, pain in the ass to reload all those times when i get an item i don't need.

One thing to say about this DLC is that it is the most hardcore thing in mass effect 1, at least it was when i finished it on the hardest difficulty level, i retried some missions like 10 times to finish it, was actually close to just turning down the difficulty at times just so i could end it.
This acually does work like a training simulator for players too, if you didn't quite know how to fight in ME1 then if you finish this you will deffinately have learned how to do it.

They're not TELLING you to not buy it, they're simply stating why you should and why you shouldn't. The decision is still yours.
Also, Mass Effect is well known for its story. Some people, like myself take that as a big thing before buying a game.

man that ign guy is a whiner. it's really cheap, buy a 20 bucks microsoft points card and just use it on this and keep the rest for whatever, Dragon Age or something.
It's worth it, I picked up Mass Effect for only 10 bucks last week, played it through, downloaded both DLCs and had some fun with that.
It at least gives you the nice satisfying feeling of "I did everything this game had to offer, and completed it." before starting Mass Effect 2

if you listen he says you need to be a spectar to access it and you can't have completed the game!!! so your new file you will have to become a spector then you can go to the station.

He's referring to the "endgame" where you no longer have access to the Normandy for flying around. In other words, the point in the game where you can't do any more side missions at all, like Bring Down the Sky or even just the little assignments built into the CD. In other words, as long as you can get to the galaxy map, you can do the DLC. Not before you can pilot the Normandy, and not after you leave in the Mako for the last time to fight on Ilos.

yeah these DLC's are filler, i was alright though, i bought them for the 400pts each and a dragon age dlc ( wardens keep) so thats 3 peices of DLC from EA , thus granting me 800pts by 30th jan ( so i got them for free ! now i can buy mass 2 DLC!)

pinacel station was not bad but fun and yes the expantion was worth the 5 doallars it just thet iam stuck on time tral and it very esay to get the aciment and when you just want to shoot some mercs or geth you can play the dlc althow it was confusing at first you get the hang of it and start to like the dlc but the revewer mosi likely spen 10 minutes on each map

The DLC is all filler. I downloaded "Bring Down The Sky" and finished the main quest in about 30 mins. after that I decided to not buy Pinnacle Station because of how bad BDTS was. Save your money for ME2. I'm quite confident it will be MUCH better!

The first few were fun but, yeah, quickly got old. The last simulation (that gets you the apartment) is funner and in my opinion the only real battle worth fighting in the DLC. The only reason I'd get it for is if you are planning on being a Mass Effect completionist or if you have hopes that the apartment reward might come in handy later on in the sequels.
Otherwise, the IGN review was dead on.

To put it short, no.
the battles, which is all the DLC contains, are ridiculously broken (Insanely easy on veteran, but nigh impossible on insanity, the difficulty skyrockets astronomically and uncontrollably) and the rewards are completely worthless. (A new gun, which will never compare to Spectre gear, and a tiny house)
It's less than a month before ME2 comes out, save your $5.00

I bought this for 400 MS Points. True, it's not as good as Bring Down The Sky, but that's because it had a decent storyline to it, and motherfucking cool Batarians. This, for what it is, is definitely worth it. It's got a ton of cool combat scenarios, and that's it really. But then again I really liked the Multiplayer time trial stuff on resident Evil 5 so...

Its good enough for the cost of the DLC - cool for trying out solid streams of different weapons and racking up kills - great for when you want a quick bit of Mass Effect action too.
