I play the violin. I LOVE IT!!! :) I've been playing it for five years now. :) I wish I could play as good as this man. I love phantom of the opera, and have been trying to learn this song. I play by ear, so I somewhat have it. But I won't truly be satisfied until I am as good as him. I've never done anything that I truly love so much that it brings tears to my eyes. If any of you play, stay with it. Please. You won't regret it... At least, I haven't... :)

This was already my favorite song from The Phantom of the Opera, which is, by the way, my favorite movie and live performance. I've noticed something about David Garrett. Not only does he play beautifully, but he sells it in appearence too. In a lot of the videos I've seen him in he's dressed very casually (but in no since sloppily) and to me it's actually more comfortable watching him like that.

David makes love to his stradivarius. Saw him live last week @ the Park West which is a small venuein Chicago. He was awesome. We were literally in front of the stage. He has such charisma and talent. Seeing him live was a GIFT! I highly recommend it. For a virtuousa to play everything from Back to Led Zeppelin (Kashimir) to AC/DC...... we were so close we could even see the strings of his bow that had broken.

I don't think we can compare David Garrett and Maksim! Garrett plays with great orchestra. He played with the most famous directors like Sir Neville Marriner. He plays Chamber Music. And he also plays this kind of music you call pop trash to bring young audience to classical music. Please look at him playing in Florence the Beethoven violin concerto (part 3/8) on youtube. Listen to his sound in his cadence knowing the sound here is obviously not the same as in the live concert.
