I have a problem with this software.

I loaded a b&w .avi movie with a res. of 624x448, bitrate 1432 kbps, and 19 minutes long. When I run it in the preview screen I get constant lagging. I'm trying to dub a new soundtrack on but the lag is making sync adjustment impossible. I've previously edited movies up to about 8 minutes (including HD) with no problems. I tried loading the same clip into Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 (downloaded trial) and there was no problem, it worked really smoothly.

do you have the hardwareacceleration activated? You can activate it in the programsettings (push the key "y" in the software).

AVI is only a container. We would need to know which codec the video is encoded with. In case the hardwareacceleration didn't help I'll hand your question on to the support. @wwwmagixcom I assume you meant the Video Mode drop-down box in the ''Preview in arranger' section, in which case 'Hardware Acceleration (Direct 3D)' was already activated so that didn't help. I have used GSpot v2.70 to identify the codec and it is: XviD ISO MPEG-4. I'll send you my email add as requested, repeating the whole issue. thank you.

@wwwmagixcom Okay, finding the hardware acceleration setting makes a *huge* difference. I was just about to decide MMEP wasn't usable for me until found that. It was running worse than video editing on my old 200 MHz machine. Maybe should have a pop-up first time you run the program with suggested things people might want to check. Or have it on by default.

When i have a video without text, it works each time i load it up, but when i add text then the video wont ever upload help.

I am still questioning to up date.I have bought 14, 15 and 16 and they all crash. I update and now work with an i7, 16 still crashes when you put anything to big on it. It also has faults. It is so easy to use though, but so many problems.

@Birgiser Hi, to make a real 3D video you have to record with a 3D camera or two cameras, which are right next to each other and are recording at the same time. You need to have two videos both from a different angle (since that is how our eyes build the 3 dimensional world we see). If you just copy a video and set it to Side by Side it will get a small 3D effect but not as strong. A tutorial for 3D editing can be found here: /watch?v=IXvwEj4cmkg

you can cut a video by pressing the "T" button. This will cut the video at the point where the video marker is. Adding music works by drag and dropping the file on to the timeline.

this can happen, when the green background reflects on your t-shirt. Try wearing a shirt that has a clearly different color than green (or blue).

@CeroshiousCid On low bitrates parts of a black t-shirt can be keyed accidentally. I've had good results with a blue t-shirt. Generally how good the keying results get has alot todo with the videoquality. First try more lighting on the background and try to avoid shadows on the green background. Hope this helps.

Frustrated, i Just bought this product today and am already having problems. being a beginner at editing and so forth. Every time i upload a video from my Canon Vixia HF20 and put it in Magix it never can run the video smoothly. its always jumping and laggin around when i try to edit or watch the video in Magix. any Help/Advice?

@dropowski Hello dropowski, what kind of PC do you have? The editing of HD material is very CPU-intensive. For native HD editing we recommend a quad core and a HD compatible graphiccard. If you do not meet these recommendations the software will open a dialog when you import the HD material. It will recommend to change the format of the files. If you let the software change the format you can edit smoothly and then export back in HD format.
