@lenor42 no, it comes with Serato Itch and that's the only program that works with it (to my knowledge). check out the VCI-400 - it's coming out soon and it will be able to take most software out there (most specifically Traktor). thx for tuning in.
Thanks dude for the tips. Gonna order my Dj set prity soon. Can you tell me what sound card are you using since to use headphones and speakers you gotta have a portable USB soundcard am i right? What should I buy and what do you recommend?
@klemkaan The VCI 300 doesn't need a sound card whereas the 100 does.Sorry I didn't think of this before. This made a difference in my decision to purchase as well (another thing to carry to sets, more wiring, more table space, etc). I think the cheapest sound card was just under $200 at Guitar Center.
@klemkaan i had the herc mk2 for about a year then upgraded - i've never mixed vinyl as i didn't want to invest that much into a new hobby. the vci300 has been solid for me and from what i've seen is the closest to vinyl or scratch/rane. i have ableton but haven't had any time to learn midi mixing. i agree with your friend if you have the time to learn midi mixing - it seems to be the future. good luck with the vci100 - look for the ian golden youtube videos. they are great.
My only experience is by virtual DJ. Been doing it for 6months now so I think is now time to go advance. What would you recommend since alot of people are talking about Vestax. My friend actually told me to start with midi controllers first than buyin a super cheap Dj set. What are you redomendations?
@klemkaan ahhh, the black one. you're planning to buy the 100 or 300. you're gonna have a great time with either the 100 or 300 i'm sure. have you dj'd with vinyl or any previous experience?
thanks man really helped but please one more question? What is the difference between VESTAX VCI 100B and VESTAX VCI 100? Not sure if I can afford to buy Vestax Vci 300 but if you can tell something (in a nuttshell) it would be super great since I have no idea about these things but very intrested :)
@klemkaan i don't much experience with the VCI100s. I hear that they have more latency issues and they were being phased out. the vci 300 prices are going down and you can find one on craigslist for cheaper than retail.
Hi there. Just want to know what computer are you using? Im confused do I need a mac to get Vestax and serato ITCH working? And since I dont have a laptop can I use the program with my normal computer and later install it to my new laptop (probably not mac)
@klemkaan I'm using a Dell Studio 15 I bought a couple years ago. It's not too bad but you have to turn off all other programs otherwise you'll bog down Itch. You can load onto a desktop computer as well so don't worry if you don't have a laptop. Most people use Macs because there is less latency ( = faster response time), although it's not really noticeable with my laptop. Hope this helps and good luck.
sounds good man. im planing to get one but would it be able to work with any software?
