  • I am AVS fan and this is a perfect moment. I dont like Detroit, but I really respect Yzerman and other players to gave us this rivaly. Joe Sakic = The most unbeliveable Captain in hockey history, handed The Cup to Ray = The most Enormous hockey moment in History!

  • THE BEST MOMENT !! NOTHING ELSE TO SAY

  • 6:22 the classiest act in the history of sports.

  • section 331 row 1 seat 12 :)

  • @chikncowz I live in Russia and root for Colorado since childhood. From the very beginning. Lucky you man. I can not stand Detroit. They were playing our players are traitors. Go Avalanche

  • One of the greatest Stanley Cup Champions in the history of the NHL. And not just for their loaded roster. For the dynamic, unique stories behind every player -- skill can take you to the end, but in the Finals you are stripped to your core.

  • Sakic... Fakes it.... Takes it.... SCORE!

  • the best story of the NHL, Period! Theres no comparison!

  • we need another cup go avs!

  • FUCK YA AVS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • When this series happened, it was the best Finals since 1994. Since then, there have been a number of Finals that have gone the distance. Jersey in 03, Tampa in 04, Carolina in 06, and Pittsburgh in 09. Those Finals were great but this was by far and away the best of all of them. I'm a Wings fan and to cheer for my arch-rival team was a bit weird, but because of Ray, it wasn't difficult. And this game was the one of the last I watched with my grandpa before he passed away.

  • RAYMOND BOURQUE!

  • God i miss the NHL before the lock out...that was when hockey was truely at it's best...now you have some bullcrap version of it where if someone lays a finger on someone they get a penalty or get threaten with a lawsuit..so many great players in that series...one of the best NHL moments in history when 77 lifted the cup..congrats avs!

  • roy stole games 6 and 7. greatest goalie of all time

  • Rofl 0:41, doesnt quite close car door. Looks back, meh fuck it

  • I've been an avalanche/nordiques fan since i was 7... I'm 24 now, and still get teary-eyed when i watch this.

That was the best hockey moment ever for me. close 2nd is Team Canada winning 2010 gold.

And i agree, that was probably one of the top 3 best NHL teams ever! And one of the greatest games ever played!

  • As a Sens fan, best NHL moment I remember...Congratz Ray...u deserved that one :)

  • Peter Forsberg, Joe Sakic, Patrick Roy, Rob Blake, Ray Bourque, Alex Tanguay, Adam Foote, Chirs Drury and many others.

    BEST TEAM EVER!?!?

  • @MasterOfKthulu Messier, Kuri, Gretzky, Coffey, Fuhr, Anderson. Sorry nah Oilers got them beat. I'm a Devils fan, but I was happy as hell Bourque got the cup.

  • @EyesOfTheSouthSTi ... Dude some great touch of class from a Devils fan... Thats great to see

  • @thiessen61 I'm a hockey fan above all and to see a great player like Bourque who has class as well finally get what every hockey player dreams of getting was really moving. Even the Devils were happy for him.

Sakic along with Stevey Y are untouchable when it comes to classy captains. Well I would put Linden there as well. Messier may have won captained two teams to the finals and won the cup, but he showed zero class in Vancouver IMO.

Stevey Y and Sakic are in a league of their own.

  • @EyesOfTheSouthSTi I could not have said it better myself. There are just some players who will be better then others just cause of character. Like u said Sakic and Yzerman are in a league of their own. Best of luck to your Devils. Hopefully they can turn things around soon

  • @MasterOfKthulu They definitely were an incredible team, no doubt about it.

  • Thanks man.

    Go avs

  • I think I'll never forget this game... the intensity and excitement, the not knowing which team will win. I'm glad though that the Avs won... great series.

  • give it a couple years, the AVS will rise again

  • Joe Sakic handing the cup to Bourque instead of raising it is the greatest moment in nhl history.

  • Bourque is the best that god he finally got his name on it

  • Mr.Bourque = Legend

  • the best moment in Avalanche history when Ray Bourque #77 raised that cup!

  • ". . . . . and my wife Shari, who's here tonight. She's the best thing that's every happen to me. But I gotta tell you honey, that silver thing we took home last Saturday is running a very close second."

  • Man this brings back Memories

  • A magic moment when Roy and Bourque embraced each other at the end of game 7.

After 16 seasons playing in rival teams they made it together.

    Thanks Boston, Montreal and Quebec.

  • wont happen again for like another 20 years :(

  • I've watched this a bunch of times and still always get choked up lol

  • @Valthonis1921

Hmph, I guess not, it it out there though.

    How about Duchene huh?

  • @Valthonis1921

Never heard of it. I just have seen these two vids: 1996 run and 2001 run.

  • @Valthonis1921

What is it? The 1996 run? They have it up.

  • I am a die-hard MTL fan but I was very happy to see the Aves win that night. God bless!

  • man that would be fantastic. PLEASE someone, anyone!

  • whats the violin song at around 7:00 until 7:40

  • 1:59 Chills.

  • im a canes fan and even for me this was a really good documentary. ray bourque certainly deserved it. and so did all the other all star guys like drury, tanguay, forsberg (im also a fan of this guy), and sakic. and i kind of get the same feeling i did for glen wesley (even though he only waited 18) and roddy brind'amour (16 years i beleive). plus, its also nice to see new jersey fall on their face.

  • I get chills each and every time I see this moment when ray bourque raise the cup...totaly awesome!!!

  • Definitely one of the greatest sports moments ever.

  • @ericdrav3n23. I agree with you. it will live long in my mind and most likely stay with me for life. GO AVS GO!!!

  • I'm so glad that Rayman Bourque won the Stanley Cup, because he waited 22 long years to get it. Good for him!

  • The greatest game in NHL history. Period.
