and BTW, if you are a Christian and you believe in living forever with Christ, and you have read Revelation, can you see that it doesn't take millions of years to accomplish God's plan for the new earth? Why would it then even be considered that God either "needed" or "used" millions of years in the original creation? HE'S GOD!!
God said at the end of all He'd made that it was VERY GOOD. We often think of eternity as very un-earthlike, but that isn't what Scripture says. Read together Genesis chapters 1-2; Isaiah 65:17,66:22; 2 Peter 3:13; Rev.21. Discuss what God has in store for those in Christ. Reflect on what images we see in creation that'll be seen again, though fresh, new, & perfect in the new earth. What concepts have you had previously about eternity? Were they in agreement with what you now see in Scripture?
As it is week 7, I'm reminded of Genesis chapters 1 and 2 describing creation. I sit in my backyard watching the sprinklers water the garden and wonder what it must have looked like for a mist to rise out of the ground before there was rain to water the whole earth!
