he used that sg on a european tour 2 years ago and as far as i can remember its an article from a magazine about wayne gretzky stuck on.
He also played through a mesa triaxis rack set up for the todays empires... euro tour back in 2001 which in my opinion was not only the best record but the best guitar sound chris has used. mesa is may be expensive but is well worth saving for. my single rectifier blows the **** out of everything else i've played.
having heard the entire song in another video, i agree. But there are some songs on Today's Empires where they both trade vocals; I imagine sometimes they just back each other's lyrics.
I know he said, about a year or so ago it was a mesa mark iv and then a mesa tri axis, i can't remember what with what but i believe the tri axis was used for todays empires.
Thanks man, I appritiate it. I'm going to buy myself a good amp and I'm figuring out what to buy. I'll probably go for the jcm 900. Though The mesa are great distortion amps.
Again thank you as well for the info. I really appritiate it. Yeah JCM 2000 doesn't sound bad as well, but they're expensive. I'm looking for second hand stuff and a little older as well.
How do you like it? I need to step up to a real setup. Currently I just run a PODxt into the power amp section of my DuoVerb. Sounds good but I want to simplify my rig. I actually have a preset on there using the 5150 amp model and its labelled "The Beaver"
It's a very nice amp. What I like is the lead channel, it's quite high gain. You can get a lot of different sound from this amp, really a lot, without any effects. It's loud as hell. I always have it on 25W. Tried 100W on band practice but to be honest, 25W is enough. Can't wait to try it out on a gig.
Chris said they were about to play a new song so I got the camera ready and hit record. About 3 minutes in my camera shuts off. Fuck me! I thought my battery died, apparently, I was on photo mode, so I took a picture then the camera when tot sleep. I turned it back on to catch the last minute. Like many potemkin songs, the ending sounds nothing like the intro or middle, i believe it was catchier than this clip.
Pretty sure he uses a 5150

When I saw them in Toronto Chris and Beave both had a Marshall JCM 2000 with a 1960 cab.

Those are wonderful amps for this kind of music :) But I already bought myself a JCM 2000 TSL 100, great amp as well.
