  • another thing..make sure car is COOL, too much steam in the engine, and it wont fill..and dont twist ur screw to hard when u tighten it..they do break

  • I just did the radiator and water pump on my 97 318i...first time i bled it wrong an it heated up...when i bled it properly..NO probs wutsoever. Cap off..running...heat on full blast, bleed screw out..fill, and rev to bout 3000 rpms for bout 20 secs..fill and cap WITH ENGINE RUNNING...when fluid comes out of the screw hole. Pain in the ass..and thats from my friend whos a professional bimmmer mechanic..hope it helps!

  • did you bleed the system correctly? these engines in general are pretty sensitive on air bubbles getting trapped in the cooling system if not bled correctly, thats when the temp. goes up....if its not smoking, milky oil or oil in coolant it could be something simple....good luck... i am about to buy a 95 525i wagon in excellent condition with 183k miles but engine is excellent,interior-exterior excellent for 2400 cash

  • It could be the thermostat, water pump. You need the correct hose from the thermostat to the radiator. Also the aftermarket air filter is rubbish, all it does is suck hot and reduces low end torque

  • Yea dude time to let her go, love the old cars but maintenance is a bitch, especially on German cars. I got rid of my 02 S4 and got a 08 Legacy, it hurts but my wallet has been happy with the decision.
