  • Man thanks a lot! This video really helped me, i couldnt figure how to hook that shit up for nothing! lol

  • what year is that car bud?

  • @gonefishin70 She's a 1988.

  • LOL !!! i like you man !!!! "im too lazy and thats that -sucks in snot-" Thumbs up just for that !!! Reminds me of myself lol

  • Your tach power wire is plugged into the battery constant slot, instead of IGN (key on)...

  • i have same tach and want to connect it tomy 84 chevy with a 6.2 put in and not sure if this one is compatBLE WITH DEISELS

  • at 2:49 was that bomb!?

  • @xBOOOGERx HAHAHAHA didn't even notice that!!!

  • @88BroughamLS It was insanely loud.

  • @xBOOOGERx It sounds more like the guy driving past broke the sound barrier.

  • @armrdsoul77 Yes! More reasonable scenario.

  • to wire the iluminating up juss run a wire from ur bat. accerery witha fuse next to the bat, so it wont burn ur car, and have a jenson switch in the dash so u can turn it on at night

  • Great vid...I want your car :P

  • Thanks mate i just install a monster tacho on my 89 camaro

    thanks again!!!!!!

  • Future car thief

  • Love the Loud snot pull lol

  • @electus7 Of all the things to point out in this video LOL

  • I bet that is the only Caprice in the world with a tach!

  • @raiderhope Then you gotta be the only simpleton in the world

  • @raiderhope nope. i had one on my 77.

  • You sound a bit younger than me but you know more about what your doing than i do LOL.

Oh, and HOLY FUCK at the fact that your engine looks just like the 350 in my '92 Sierra, when it comes to layout and parts. Gotta love the older GM cars/trucks.

  • you do sound like a fat white kid but you do a great job in the video i just installed a tac in my 1982 firebird

    thanks

  • @rainmandaking Yea no problem and that would not be a compliment but a very bad insult being that I'm not nor white. Nice try champ.

  • @88BroughamLS Where did you got that voice? I was thinking you were a white guy then I saw you're hispanic like Mexican-American. But, nice job on the tach.

  • @rainmandaking what does that make you sound like?. making such insults

  • hahaha real lazy sometimes, hey my firebird is bare naked on the inside.

  • that's the negative side (ground) where you put the signal wire into. the distributor cap is already grounded because it is somehow attached to the chassis so there's no need for a grounding wire.

  • what type of wire do you use (like when it asks for extra wire) ?!?!

  • what if there are two wires going to the distributar through that plug

  • @snapperhead355 Same way!

  • Thanks alot dude! nice car btw :)

  • great video thanks

  • If you want to hook up your ilumination just trace any of the wires that run lights controled by headlight switch (ie dash lights headlights ect)

  • is that a lawnmower engine?

  • how could you do this with a small engine, say a gokart?

  • wat kind of freakin car is that?\

  • @hoodieclown 1988 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Brougham LS with 5.0L OHV 305 CUI V8. Does that answer your question?

  • @88BroughamLS i have a caprice 305 v8 in my el camino

  • @hoodieclown funny how americans let 2 year old kids drive... and later on they complain about having alot of accidents... :S?

  • how bout for a 91 350 silverado?

  • Thanks man I had a brain fart on where to hook the green wire an this vid helped alot thanks.

On Ur white wire u can tap it into Ur parking light hot wire.

  • funny first video i look for to install n it was the 1 big thanks to u sir

  • hey will this work 4 a 89 chevy 1500 350 5.7?????????

  • Can you install a tach in a place where bolt holes or cuts wouldn't show in the original dash or interior?

  • thanks dude i was looking everywhere to find a vid like this. it was a HUGE help!

  • wow, maybe its just me, but u totally look almost identical to Terrence Howard!!

  • i have a box chev as well a 78 impala. But im not sure how the hell i'm supposed to put the wires through the firewall

  • @Matt692 follow the wires

  • Is it the same for a 96 Firebird??

  • @22Indios That, I'm not sure about because they coil pack ignitions. But they way it's hooked up is just about the same.

  • @88BroughamLS Ok Thaks Bro!!

  • Thanks alot! Nice car too!

  • so in the coil you just need to hook it up to the negative???

  • @zhondelamon Yes

  • is it the same for an 89 454 ?

  • @caleb01ify Yes it should be

  • Alright, on my truck (93 S10) I lifted the guard on the ign. coil that you did and mine has 2 prongs. What do you think I should do?

  • @SimmonsTheMoose Look on your wiring diagram and find out which one's negative and just tap the wire into the plug! Easy!

  • The Lume wire is a 16ga BROWN wire at the light switch. you can also catch it in that left kick panel going to the rear

  • This is funny because i was trying to figure out how to put a tach in my 81 monte carlo...and you have the same lol...I got my origanal 305 swapped with a GM 350 and turbo tranny

  • if you want the illumination to work tap the wire off the head light switch or just hook it up to a switch that's kinda ghetto but it works either way keep on working on your car thats how i learned more ya do the more you learn

  • Holy cow, I've been looking for an explanation of where the green wire goes on remote coil TBI V-8s for an hour, and this is the only one that shoes. Everyone else says "The white wire" but there are two white wires on the coil!

  • what was the name of that manual again? Please.

  • tyvm i can put one in my car now and the white wire can be hooked up to the stirring calm where you turn on ur light so it only gets power when there on

  • great video , how much is the tach??

  • looks like it idle a little low, most cars are suposed to idle at atleast about 800-1000 rpms, im not trying to rag on you but i think you may have something wrong

  • that made it sound so simple cause im thinking about installing a tach on my 91 chevy truck

  • It says that your idle is 500, is that really true??

  • im sorry to say i think what your trying to is sweet but for your next install go to the part store and buy a 13 dollar test light. you never want to rig anything into your fuse box you just have to find a ingnition wire. usually its a pink 10gauge wire on most GMs. Its easy to find just follow your ingnition switch and you will find a yellow Usually starter wire A red ur 12v and a pink. put the test light on the pink wire and turn ur key if the test light lights up T it into that wire for power

  • cool video with no bullshit lol nice i will try this in my 82 camaro.

  • so there are 4 wires, 2 for the power to the tachometer 1 for the light and one that counts the amount of sparks a minute of a single plug?

  • dam this is going to look good on the hotrod

  • hey do you know where i can get a wiring diagram for my 75 olds delta 88

  • @gameproplayer15 You gotta look on the internet. That's where I found mine.

  • Nice stereo setup where did you get that mounting kit accessory?

  • @4age20vbt I got it at my local stereo shop here in town!

  • hey my 88 corolla doesnt have a ignition coil (its got a electric ignition) do you know where the tach wire would be? i cant seem to find it

  • @WeAreTheRebellion You will check the wiring diagram for your vehicle to see where it can be hooked up.

  • um how old are u

  • @FASTOLDSMOBILES99 Old enough

  • @88BroughamLS good answer man. I started when I was 12 and it took a long time for people to take me seriously. After I rescued some of them from bad situations they started to realize I actually knew my shit.

  • @BigAgitator Yea man but it's all good. That's why this car runs like new and has 208,000 miles on it and it flies up mtns at 80 with no problems! Seeing is believing I guess!

  • ...Jerk...hahaha thats great.. thanks really good video

  • Hey great video, what size of engine do you have in your car. I'm trying to find a place to put that green wire on my GM 454 engine.

  • @chessisbest249 This is a small Block Chevy 5.0 305

  • I'll have to look into this. I want one of these someday for both my B-bodies.

  • how do i know which fuze if for what? i want to intsall a tach for my 72 torino (ford) but i dont know how to wire it up

  • @st7ng I'm not sure how a 72 Ford wiring is, but look it up and and the Red hooks up to a Switched Batt. Green goes to the negative on the coil/Ignition and white is illumintion which hooks up to pretty much any "light" fuse.

  • K&N makes some of THE shittiest airfilters and air systems and cold air intake systems. They actually rob u of HP and the filters allow dirt into ur engine

  • @dpstarcom Where's your support on this topic?

  • @88BroughamLS Dyno testing of K&N cold air intakes shows that they can actually decrease HP and engine life becuz a K&N airfilter is almost see through i had one on my F150 and switched to Roush intakes they are way better trust me dude lose the K&N get a roush

  • @dpstarcom Not tru, it acutually helps your mass air flow much much better, and the filter elements are way better than those cheap air filters.

  • @neversaves ? cheap air filters? It doesnt help ur MAF if it gets pelted by small debris and it also doesnt help ur engine. YOu dont know what ur talking about an air filter being almost see through isnt good and just because it makes faster air flow doesnt mean anything if the air isnt flitered properly nor if its not cold. KN filters suck and so do their intakes. btw Roush isnt a cheapo air system they are actually much more expensive than KN and they actually improve HP unlike KN. Do research

  • its a miracle your car isnt having a dead battery every 2 days because of how you set this up no offence

  • @MARCUSxFENIX Well I dont know how you set your car up, but mine never has problems, thanks for your concern big guy!

  • @88BroughamLS what i meant was that you didnt put any connecters on the wires so that they fit nice and snug in the receving end thats all.

  • @MARCUSxFENIX Well at the time I didn't have any, but very soon I will get some because they keep slipping out.

  • sun's kinda in the way but i got the idea

  • put this hose back on make it run good haaaaaaaaa.

  • will it catch fire. thanks

  • hey man you like the big caprice you ever drive a fleetwood?

    i just got one

    sooo nice

  • @kreigsmann Let's see some videos!!

  • @88BroughamLS im oldschool

    i dont have a camera

    not even a cell phone.

n i took a tachometer out of a 85 mustang its gonna be installed on my blazer today ill see if it works

  • if you take the headlight fuze out, put the wire underneath and then plug the fuze again, it will light up when you turn your lights on

  • one thing i need answered

    you put the green where?

you pulled out the cord to the coil and you put in the green cord into the coil and put it back on.

now did you put the green cord into the plug that the cord goes into? or the other one that is blank.

  • @kreigsmann the one the cord goes into

  • @88BroughamLS so one of those holes is going to be blank whereas the other is going to have the green wire and the plug spliced into it.

    nice car by the way.

  • @kreigsmann Nothing had to be spliced. I simply put the green wire into the (-) Ground side of the coil. You will have to find out what that is on your vehicle whatever it may be. Thanks for the complement on the car by the way. Check out my latest update video and see what you think!

  • good vid

    great job

  • maybe you should spend the cash on a car wash?

  • @superflymutha Maybe I wash it myself after the forecasted dust storm?

  • nice MAN YOU'RE ONE BIG UGLY MAN! HAHAHAHAHA BUT NICE JOB........

  • @harold96 Well I'm not here to impress anybody.

  • Thanks for contributing to my views and comments Mason! -PAUL!

  • wow, that car is WAYY to much technology for you, you really need to step away from it before you hurt yourself, you have no idea what you are doing under that hood, stick to your video games

  • Thanks for viewing and commenting Corey! -PAUL!

  • from a mechanics aspect, i need to point out a few things.

    A. Your setup is a "Working" setup, but be careful with what you've got, you can start a fire, I will be installing my tach in my truck here soon, and I"ll post a vid on how it should be done.

    B. If you live near Cheyenne, WY, message me, I'll install that correctly, and I wont charge you, your car looks to be in GORGEOUS condition, don't wanna see a spark ruin that.

  • what's wrong with it? what can I do to fix it?

  • @88BroughamLS Check your inbox.

  • hai man nice work

    but

you can also connect ur rpm to the negative terminal of the ignition coil

    its very easy ;)

    try it

hai man i want to find speed of a vehicle or you may sai i need an electrical signal for speed ???

  • african engineering at it's finest

  • somebody bussing out there

  • will you make a vid on and early 80 ford truck if you have one jus lyin around , cuz im in a jam:(

  • I'm not sure about Fords, but I'm sure they are very similar as far as hooking it up to the ground on the coil.

  • ok so i have an '89 oldsmobile cuttless ciera (by GM of course) and i want to get a tach. my only problem is my fuse box is in the glove box of my car. and i used to have a filter like the one in this video but i took it out and put in a Spectre Intake. so what would i have to do different to make this work? or should i just pay out the wazoo to get a macanic to take care of it?:/

  • Please if you could make a detailed video of the fuse box, coil(pack), distributor, and any other things that have to do with this and I'll check it out.

  • how do you install one on a 350 chevy?

  • Same

  • how much was it?

  • 30 bucks

  • Thanks for the advise, I have a 90 Caprice that I just got a Tach for and you helped me out tremendously. Big A

  • Thanks man Glad I could help!

  • can someone tell me where they ran the green wire through the firewall. I can't seem to find anywhere to run it through. I also have a 88 caprice 5.0 v8.

  • There was already a hole in the firewall where I put it through. You can also put it through where the brake booster is, there is a small little gap you can try, but VERY RISKY!!

  • Jaja yeah I know bro I kinda tried but didn't at the end. I did put it through the same hole where my alarm speaker wire goes through. It was kinda behind the fuse box so I had my brother use a coat hanger and we feed it through with the hanger. Oh and I plugged the white wire to the Ignition and now it turns on everytime I turn the key and the red wire I am probably going to plug it in the same place. Right now it's in the batt slot where you plugged yours in. Let me know if it's ok this way.

  • Sounds good to me man!

  • get a metal drill bit and drill through it thats wat i had to do cuz i didnt have a hole in my 87 c10 chevy

  • I found a place where to run the wire. My 88 caprice has an alarm and the speaker wire was running through the firewall so I got a coat hanger and fed it through that opening and when I went under the steering wheel the hanger was behind the fuse box so I just hooked the wire from there and feed it through the same spot as my alarm wire. Thanks for replying. I will upload a video as soon as I can so you can see my car.

  • Is that a 350?

  • 305

  • did u connect it(red wire) 2 accessories or battery...cuz idk which 1 2 connect it 2...i dont wanna mess it up...and do u have ur illumination hooked up up wit ur red 1 now i read???? lol

  • Red hooked up to accessory.

  • hook the illumination to the old wiring harness for the radio to the illumination wire

  • so did u melt that green wire yet?

  • Why would I do that?

  • from the heat from the headers

  • Nope sure haven't!

  • cause you have it right next to the damn headers.

  • No need to get out of hand. They are not burned, I'm not retarded pal.

  • Whats the point of tachometer if the car comes with one...

  • Which car ALREADY comes with one?

  • right one the dash?

  • Only gauges this car has is a Fuel Gauge and a Speedometer. Tell me where you see the Factory Tachometer on here.

  • oh well then..my bad, but i mean it's pointless putting on a aftermarket tachometer when a car has a factory tach/rev guage

  • i have question, why do you have two radios

  • How much was the tach?
