I'll be honest, the film was great, amazing but it did leave me feeling a little.. I don't know, unsatisfied. After I got over the hype of finally seeing it, I left thinking it was amazing. Exactly what it should have been, but something was nagging saying it was good enough. I love the Terminator films (except 3 don't even start) and I think people thought it was crap because they expected so much more but what they showed was more then enough. It was an awesome film but could have been better.

The industry has realized Trent's work for awhile now. Seven,The Fan, The Crow, and Lost Highway are perfect examples of how far back it goes. Man on Fire, 300, and other trailers have sampled his music. Hell I even used one of his songs for a fanmade trailer rendition of Ninja Scroll. His music has appeared in 30+ Films and TV shows. First use was in 1990. So yeah "they" realized alright.

You are right 100%. All they've done is butcher and throw away the real story of Terminator. Like in T3 how they re-wrote the Judgement Day date, and in TS it was just an action movie with Terminator wrote over it. No plot that makes sense at all, but you are 100% right on James Cameron's vision of the future, and also how it was always pitch black nightfall. In TS they ignored all of that, put Bale in it to make money, and just stamped Terminator over it. When it's just an action movie

i think this movie was average... it just didnt seem to fit the other terminator movies. im a huge terminator fan and saw each of the movies millions of times. I wasn't expecting too much of it because terminator 3 wasn't that great so i thought terminator 4 wouldnt do that great too. but as a terminator fan i had to go see it. I liked it, but I was disappointed because I was expecting them to do a lot more than they did. As they say the devil is in the details and I feel like they missed everything about the resistance, and how they had struggled so far. There wasn't nearly enough of the epic battles that were promised in the trailer, it's literally the first 5 minutes of the movie and that's it.

Also they didn't even do an extreme close up of the T-600 which would have made it scary and increased the tension.
