  • i grew up on this song and all the others on the time life am gold cds. every summer of my childhood was comprised of them

  • Viva la Bacharach !

  • I remember listening to this song, when I was on my way to Viet Nam.along with another group the chi lites. sure brings back memories

  • @tr0255 Funny you should mention the Chi-Lites! I just finished a video hours ago, however it was blocked by WMG worldwide. I'll send it to you now. Happy New Year brother Veteran!

  • I wasn't expecting to see first class pictures of the highest rank

  • this is a sad but very well made song that i listen too every so often ,kind of soothing

  • beautiful. didn"t somebody sing this on an episode of Glee?

  • @troyboy7962 Yes, that's correct.

  • Beautiful.

  • バカラック&デイヴィッドの極上チューン、マリリン・マックーのソウルフル・ヴォーカルが輝く,5th・ディメンション"悲しみは鐘の音とともに”OneLessBellToAnswer

  • CLASSIC!!! All you need to know is Marilyn McCoo.

  • ohhh the cool sounds of the 70's...

  • @primogennaio, isn't that amazing, being that her distinctive voice and this iconic song doesn't even resonate with some thirties and forties demographic indicates that so many have simply missed out, one less egg to fry for them too.

  • I THINK OF REFINERY WORKERS AND WAR VETERAN WIDOWS WHEN I HEAR THIS-----AND MY CAT----HER VOICE CAN PULL A FREIGHT TRAIN

  • One of the Greatest love songs ever takes me back to a simpler time the 60's I love it

  • Either I am getting old, the radio stations overlook good songs, or today's generation has no concept of good music. The song was played as a clue on "Jeopardy!", and not one of the contestants, who appeared to be in the thirties or early forties, could identify it.

  • @primogennaio That's truly sad!

  • @primogennaio no you just understand great music compared to the crap thats played today

  • The Fifth Dimension was a bright spot in an otherwise dismal period in our country. This was one of their best, but everything they did was was nothing short of great.

  • her voice

  • Classic!

  • a great song that showcases marilyn mccoo's voice...have always luved this song. sad but good.

  • Love the opening with Marilyn's sultry voice with the guitar and strings.

  • One of a kind Harmony.....And a lovely woman!!

  • GREAT GROUP/BEAUTIFUL WOMAN/GREAT SONG/STRONG STRONG VOICE !-EINSTEINDRIEU

  • I ALWAYS LIKE THIS SONG, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT

  • Quite possibly, the single greatest song ever recorded. In my humble opinion of course.

  • The Most Beautiful Ballad Ever Performed Period By The Most Talented Artist Of All Time Period...... !!!!! I LOVE HER SO MUCH !!!!!!

  • Beautiful Song and this Video is GREAT with this song!

    Thanks for this memory

  • great breakup song marilyn has a voice that makes u wanna cry..........beautiful!!!

  • BEAUTIFUL LADY WITH A BEAUTIFUL VOICE

  • I can relate to this, my wife cried when i went to the navy. She would always be at the ship when we left port. I can't tell you how special she is to me, never complains, always happy to see me when i walk in the door. That my friend makes it all worth it. I LOVE YOU BABY WITH ALL MY HEART AND SOUL!!!!!!!!!!

  • Marilyn McCoo's Very Best!

  • Thanks for the memories!!

I USED to play this song all the time!!

    But not anymore

    NO NEED!!!!

  • BEAUTIFUL!!

  • Marilyn is awsome

  • Beautiful song.

  • One less asshole and one less egg to fry. What a great concept! =)

  • You did a great job with the video!!!

  • I was only a little boy when this (and all 5th Dimension hits) was big. But I do know just how much this act left such an impression on popular culture. One difference that I note is how telegenic they were.

It seemed that they made appearances on every variety show going in those days. Still, the American public could not get enough of them.

  • One of my all-time favorite songs.

  • what a great song it is! this song was hit in japan when I was fourteen yeas old.

I was dreaming about love and to make girlfriend.

when I was young the world is full of dream and fill with hope.

this song make me sentimental emotion. I can be back to 1970.

thanks a lot THE 5TH DEMENTOIN.

  • A little trivia ... This was released, and then pulled so it could be introduced on "It takes a Thief" TV series ... with Robert Wagoner We saw Marylin McKoo perform on a casino boat in Vicksburg ... pretty voice...

  • @kenlo77 Thank you kindly for sharing that with other viewers...

    Joe

  • @kenlo77 Beautiful song too bad they were labled as not eing black enough Why cant blacks be more like this?

  • @kenlo77 yes, you was right in the big kissing moment with him and marilyn they cut away because you could'nt have that back then on tv!

  • @kenlo77 I saw that when I was very young. Is it on Youtube?

  • @kenlo77

I remember seeing this episode. It was very good. I think they also sung Puppet Man.

  • Too bad we can't hear any new music of this quality anymore...

  • It also made Number One on The Adult Contemporary Charts.

  • omg! nicely done!the pics, went 2gether with the music, so beautifully done!!! thx so much 4 posting this!!!! Marilyn McCoo AND the fifth dimension 1, of the best musical group of the 70,s,, thank u!!!!

  • Number two on the Billboard Hot 100 in December of 1970!

  • @hoodoovalley Hoodoo I could not agree with you more. The opening of the song with Marilyn's sultry voice combined with the guitar and strings is fantastic and the backup vocals are perfect. Listen for Marilyn in the backup part when they sing "Why did he leave?" She sings in soprano with the the rest of the group and the harmonics make for a great blend.

  • @recordman4862: This song came out in 1970. I can remember seeing them do this song on tv when I was 5 years old in 70. My pops also had the LP called "portrait" in our house which he recordered on to 8 track tape(talk about old school!)and I remember being in the back seat of our 70 coupe de ville with this blasting. Man those were the days! In my opinion the 70's was the best decade ever to grow up in,so much different than today or even the last 20 years!

  • Simply beautiful...

  • Do you think back in 1972 when this song came out How does one female sing this song such depth.Marilyn McCoo did Female singers of today never come close.Thank God i live in those times

  • I miss this sound so much!!!!!!!!!!

  • Still beautiful and soul-moving after 40 years. Thank you.

  • You can download the audio-mp3 of this clip at grabyouraudio doht cohm.

  • What a beautiful song sung by a woman with a beautiful voice!! Love it!!!

  • But a LOT MORE toilet paper.

  • One of the most beautiful (and yet bittersweet) love songs I've ever heard. Takes me back to the early 1970s, when I first heard this song. LUV IT STILL.

  • When I was 9 years old my father use to pick me me up and take shopping for school, he had old pontiac with an 8 track player, all he played was the Fith Dimension all day, I still play the CD ow to day

  • THIS IS EXACTLY HOW I FEEL WHEN MY HUSBAND LEAVES ME EVERY 6 MONTHS TO GO OVERSEAS. AND I STAY BEHIND BECAUSE I HAVE TO RUN THE BUSINESS.

  • really love this song, even if the memories it brings are better left forgotten.. but i adore the 5th Dimension so much. A big part of my youth is flashed before my eyes!

  • One of the pleasurable moments I spend is listening to music like this and a plus comes when the singer is talented like MC. Simple ones but satisfying...

  • My favorite Fifth Dimension song.

  • MM YOUR THE GREATEST

  • I'll never forget the t.v. kiss that broke the fench.
