I wouldn't call that an overreaction. She was probably voicing her displeasure at the fact that you kept blipping the throttle. She probably doesn't understand (or care) that it's carbureted and it'll stall if you don't. And in all fairness, that's pretty obnoxious if you're not into bikes.

So her over reaction is just that, over reaction - as my throttle blipping does not endanger her life one iota.
And the throttle blipping is to prevent fouling the plugs. It'll idle just fine, but will bog down like a mofo if the plugs are all fouled.
