Obama didn't win just because of the black people. Over 80% of black people have always voted for the DEMOCRAT. Now Obama might have gotten a SLIGHT boost from blacks because he is black. And he got 40% of the white vote. Black people don't even make up half of the white race. We don't even make up 20% of the white race.

As a european, I totally agree with you. When I was a kid I said I would study economics here in belgium and go to the US to become a CEO, as I believed in the principal of the american dream. I don't know if it's the same dream Obama is chasing. One reason alone to vote for McCain is because he pushed for the surge in Iraq (going against Bush's position). The surge turned the page on the direction of the war in Iraq and put us on the winning side, helped us and the Iraqis get the insurgents out of Iraq.

Obama, on the other hand, voted against the surge. He would have kept the war going in the wrong direction and pulled our troops out of Iraq without winning the war.... he would quit the war! Only losers quit.

Good to see your sensible comments on this. But not only do I think Obama is the right man for the times (we are in at least two wars and the greatest financial crisis in more than 100 years) McCain and Palin outright scare me! McCain has never met a war he didn't like (and he tends to support wars that cannot be won, like Vietnam and Iraq); and McCain admits that he knows nothing about Economics. McCain-Palin would be a disaster for the United States at this time (or any other time).
