Yeah, it's just like how the recent LOST episode was entitled "The Shape of Things to Come" which was "lifted" as you put it, from an H.G. Wells novel.

C'mon. It's called a reference and it happens all the time. The only way it would really be plagiarism is if they stole from the story of "The Night Has a Thousand Eyes"

Also, the title for that movie was most likely based on a poem written in the 1800s...
