  • Thechnically its win xp as you are running it on virtual box.

  • @supercoolguyT The host is Linux, though.

  • Thanx 4 stealing my tutorial, son of a bitch.

  • @yokobr He posted his in April 2009, you posted yours in May 2009, one month after.

  • Thanx 4 stealing my tutorial, motherfucker.

  • ive got sun virtual box, i try to play on windows xp using ijji impact thing... i installed guest tools or whatever... and i also used wined3d in safe mode. when i play guns it takes about 5 straight minutes to load as opposed to a few seconds on native windows. then whenever yi try to connect to a server its extremely laggy and says a hacking attempt has been found and it d/cs me.

  • Not when emulating GameGuard which is nearly impossible because of the functions required by kernel hooking.

  • 1) I ran Gunz in Debian w/VirtualBox with only 1gb of RAM and a GeForce 5600FX; the card is over 10 years old. I played with virtually no lag.

    2) devilcry21 is correct.

    3) WiserAslGrow: it's not the hooks GameGuard sets which causes the lag, it's the constant integrity checks, and the fact it injects itself into all running processes and sweeps memory for blacklisted processes.

  • although a geforce 5600 is a pretty old card it was released in 2003, hardly "pver 10 years old".

a 10 year old geforce card would be the GeForce 256, (PRE geforce2, let alone series 5)

  • guys you're going to need at least 4GB ram and multiple video cards to run gunz without lag AND then some..

  • hi

    what neam verson the Linux?

  • Currently, this is Debian, but it should work on most version. Since Virtualbox 3.X was released, Direct3D is now experimentally supported :)!

  • Yes, I only used VirtualBox. Follow the instructions, and ensure you're using VirtualBox, the binary release, *NOT* "VirtualBox-OSE" (Open Source Edition)!
