  • I love it

  • I posted a comment on this page a short while ago, but it does not appear to be here. I am now posting this to find out whether the fact that it is not here is because I forgot to press the post button or because this is a Comment Pending Approval page.

  • Hey there where ya goin', Not exactly knowin' Who says you have to call just one place home. He's goin' everywhere, B.J. McKay and his best friend Bear. He just keeps on movin', Ladies keep improvin' Every day is better than the last. New dreams and better scenes, And best of all I don't pay property tax. Rollin' down to Dallas, Who's providin' my palace, Off to New Orleans or who knows where. Places new and ladies, too, I'm B.J. McKay and this is my best friend Bear.
  • @gguizar1 Pretty sure its 'Rolling down to Dallas, My wheels provide my palace'??

  • Monkey copilot? Sure. Hot chick truckers? Why not? Crash the truck through a sign for no discernible reason? Naturally!

  • Producer #1: "You're not going to believe this shit. The grizzly bear won't fit in the goddamn truck cabin."

Producer #2: "Son of a bitch! But we begin production in 3 days! And all of the goddamn stationery is all printed and everything! The network is going to shit!"

    (Long pause)

    Producer #1: "I got it!"

    Producer #2: "What?"

Producer #1: "My cousin knows this guy with a trained chimp. We could just borrow the chimp and name him 'Bear'."

    (Long pause)

    Producer #2: "Fine. Do it."

  • What an awesome concept... a man and his monkey... and they're truck drivers.

  • I've heard that you can tell a monkey by his tail; if he doesn't have a tail, then he's an ape.

  • The last time this series was shown in England was 1978. I can never understand why it has never been back since, mostly with all the channels there are.

  • What can I say,I grew up on shows like this.It brings back great memories and it makes me smile.I guess it is because I am older now,but few shows today make me feel this good.

  • In the mid/late '70's, the movie "White Line Fever" & then the movie "Convoy" along with it's strange but popular theme song were part of the trucker/outlaw-mean-sherrif-smash-up stories. Even "Smokey and the Bandit" ran with that theme. So, it made sense to try and get some mileage out of it on the little screen too. Ironically, Greg Evigan is from NJ as is my ex husband who played at his wedding reception--& my girlfriends & I were devastated when he got married. Thanks for posting this!

  • This is the COOLIST!!! Thanks!!!

  • Its all good and fun until the Chimp takes a dump in the truck.

  • It was explained on one episode that the chimp was named Bear because he looked like Coach "Bear" Bryant. If you'll look at pictures of "Bear" Bryant when he was older, you can see some resemblence.

  • I like BJ and Bear!!!BJ is handsome!!!

  • Goofy intro

  • Stacks was Judy or Audrey Landers....cant remember which..

  • Love it. Remember it from when I was a kid. Love the cute lady trucker even though there is probably not a trucker in the whole world that looks like that. Gotta love the TV universe

  • Yes, but as Chimpanzees are generally referred to as 'monkeys' I thought I'd let it go....perhaps it should have been BJ and the Baboon?? Or BJ and the Marmoset?? Think they're monkeys.

  • That's not a Monkey, he's a baby Chimpanzee ( one member of the family of great apes).

  • It's not a Monkey, it's a Chimpanzee.

  • That's not a bear it's a monkey.

  • Yes, the monkey was called 'Bear'.

  • So who got the BJ?

  • HAHA. That'll be short for 'Billy Joe' McKay

  • Shit man! I can remember watching this. Now I feel old. How the hell a bloke in a truck with a chimp worked I'll never know. ha ha ha

  • lol. only in the 70s

  • a man sure can get lonely out there on the road... long, cold, dark nights cooped up in tiny, cramped, little cabin.

    yup. very... very... lonely.....

so yeah, maybe he rooted the chimp.

  • Judy Landers was Stacks...I wonder where she is also..she was dreamy!

  • love that bear

  • love that bear

  • great show and love that bear

  • it was one of the greatest shows.I wish that one of the channels would bring it back like they did greatest american hero.

  • where is "stacks" remember her .I loved that show i remember it and I was born in 72
