Can you help me choose which model of Ugly Stik rod to use for walley trolling using crankbaits on MN lakes with a bait caster reel? Some tell me Big Water series and some say the Lite salmon/steel head rod. I think I will just stick with flat line trolling this Spring but MIGHT try downrigging in the summer. I really prefer flat lining, though. I need a rod that breaks down to pack in my Chevette, too. Thank you for your help!
before i owned a boat i used to use spinners with a slip bobber on windy days. the the waves would force the bobber to move up and down and it would make the blades flicker. that same setup also works in rivers with enough current to make the blades move but not too much so your bait is off the bottom> as long as you suspend the sinners off the bottom somehow you can use a spinner from shore.

i always use these in the summer when the weeds are grown in. bottom bouncers crawlers and spinners are deadly for walleye.

could you use spinners for walleye when you're fishing from the shore?
