As an Orioles fan, I really really wish the Pirates would turn it around and start winning. Baseball needs a great underdog and the Pirates are perfect for that. Almost 20 years since a winning season, I feel your pain Pittsburgh. Stay strong!
Hey Pirates fans, you guys deserve a lot better than being a yearly loser. cmon this is the franchise that Roberto Clemente and Willie Stargell made proud by winning a World Series for. what the Pirates fans should start doing i s having town meetings to tell the piece of shit owner how you guys feel about how the team has fell apart.
dstearn90-what "bandwagon" are you talking about? Steelers? Pens? The Pirate bandwagon is a distant drum. Why go to PNC when the ownership doesn't give a rip about you or me. I've spent lots of money going to Pirate games only to see my favorite players groomed for, then sold to other teams. God forbid any of the newer players get voted into the All-Star game-guaranteed they'll be sold off the next year.
couldn't agree more . what the hell does this greedy nut job nutting know about baseball ? christ , i was a devoted pirates fan . what has he done to benefit the team besides putting up a sign for seven springs resort ? he should go . we dont want a conartist.
They were jinx by Barry Bonds they'll never win nothin, if they would have paid Barry instead of Van they wouldn't be in this MESS I DON'T CARE WHAT THEY SAY.
Fuck the Nutting family......Die and go to hell. All the Nutting money from the BUCCOS goes to there 7 Springs Resort,,,,Not back to the organization. I would love to see the Pirates have an owner that brought a winning team back to the BURGH!!!!
i agree with you i have been a pirate fan for 21 years now they are my team and will always be my team. no matter how many losing season we have. go buccos
hahahahaha this just shows how much you know about baseball. I dont think people would be so mad if the pirates werent the laughing stock of baseball. I moved to pittsburgh and it is amazing how people still have faith in this team. Until Nutting Gone nothing will change. Have fun getting killed in 10.
Why McLouth? Because since he was traded on June 3rd, his OPS has dropped from .819 with the Bucs to .761 with the Braves. He's played 9 more games with the Braves, but has 3 fewer home runs and his defense is still not that good. Charlie Morton has a 3.81 ERA and has only lost five games because nobody is giving him any run support in Pittsburgh, which would have happened even if Nate was around.

The only bad trade this year was the Grabow, Gorzelanny trade. I hate the idiots who criticize, but are SO uninformed. I guarantee that every one of the people criticizing the trades from this year have never watched a full baseball game. I hate the fucking morons who blame it on the FO. I could maybe see, if it's been the same ownership and GM for 17 seasons, but it isn't. And I know that some of you idiots think it is, so I'll just stop there.
Okay how about every trade before this year, and the horrible draft picks, also Mcclatchy and Nutting were always partners and still are he just stepped down as pres. of team get your fact straight. I hate people who are so blind to see they don't give a damn about winning, they players we traded for this yr. will be traded as soon they get good in MLB, it happens every single time you have got to wake up. the don't spend money to build a team, it takes money to win, enjoy your bobbleheads.
The worst trade under NH's is still the Gorzo trade. Do you even watch the Pirates? Their biggest problem is the bullpen. The offense/defense that they received in trades is alright. You look like a typical hater/troll with the "...will be traded as soon they get good in MLB" comment. NH has to rebuild what Lfield ruined. I would rather have a future than play with a bunch of below average former all-stars. Freddy was the most valuable. And thankfully they got more than they should have for him.
Look deeper into history with the trades they do to dump salary, Ramirez, Bay, Kendall(not anymore tho), Mclouth, Sanchez, etc now if we had those players plus Alvarez, Mccutchen, Jones, Tabata and your pick that would be a winning starting roster but we don't have those PROVEN veterans anymore to surround our young talent ,Becaue they are not investing in a winning team, but a winning business.
Aram is the only of those that I don't agree with. And we wouldn't have Alvarez, Jones, or Tabata if Lfield was still in charge. Ramirez was fairly young when we traded him, not yet a proven vet. And I STILL don't believe we lost in many of the NH deals. McLouth is not by any means a proven veteran. He had one breakout year and the Braves overpaid for him. Plus, Bay is has about the same AVG as Andy LaRoche. And my favorite of them all, the Freddy one. We got a dominant pitching prospect.
Poor Pirates. The Steelers and Penguins are awesome every year almost... then there's the bucs... creating a tradition of losing. Hey assholes in charge of the pirates, STOP TRADING YOUR STARS AWAY! Use common sense. I'm diehard Yankees, but I'd like to see the pirates finally do good again... it'll never happen though. They keep getting rid of their best players, then grow there prospects up to stardom, then trade them away too.
I agree with you on they grow prospects then trade them Its rediculous. At least your Yankees try to get a championship team they will win won eventually their team is loaded with talent. I'm not telling em to spend yankee money but at least try to put a winner on the field, In that you have to spend money to win, they don't they lose obviously, but they win in the checking account.
Oh no doubt. They're makin money hand over fist, but at some point they're gonna realize that the fans are getting sick of losing. The fans don't care about management and the team itself makin cash, they want wins. I hope they realize it and turn it around. I went to pittsburgh and gotta say they're some of the nicest people and diehard fans over there. True blue collar americans, which is why the steelers should be dubbed "America's Team." Fuck Dallas.
I agree with burghman. the pirates have made great moves in the last two seasons to acquire great young talent which is already showing in McCutchen. although the pirates have also traded a playoff caliber lineup since 2003 i think we're finally on the right track.
I can't believe all of the nonsense i just read. can't you see that Neal is making these deals to rebuild a team that was depleted for the past 10 years? You build a team from the bottom up, not the other way around, and that's what Neal is doing. All three deals in the past two days have been fantastic-if anyone honestly tells me that jack and freddy were part of the pirates core, clearly they do not understand anything about sports in general. i love both guys, but it was time for them to go.
Pirates just traded Grabow and Gorzo to the cubs for 3 more players ive never heard of. From here on we shall be known as the Pittsburgh Prospects.Every position player on the Pirates roster now make the league minimum
This season is not that bad like everyone thought they are doing not that bad they only lost 55 games this season not like last year they already had like 67 so their not that bad this year
I agree Bud Selig should have stepped in a long time ago the Pirates increase their take into revenue sharing every year, so the Nuttings are raping the fans and every other profitabe baseball team in the league for 16 years at least now.
It is not a video bashing the team but a video to the ownership group that is cheap and is the reason the pirates have lost 16 in a row, the players play their hearts out just are mediocre. The OWNERS trade all players away the just sent down McCutchen who hit a .318!!! In spring training. That is not the teams fault it is cheap owners.
