that doesn't make any sence at all. A usb fan is cheap. xbox controller expensive. Allso you can get an electric motor for even cheaper and mod it to a usb fan and allso that wasn't an original xbox controller was it?

Cause on my controllers the vibrators have a contact in the end and are not directly connected to the circuitboard.

So wait you cut the usb connector off an old joystick only to reconnect it to the xbox cable? Wouldn't it be easier just to cut to joystick cable from the joystick and use that instead of what you did? Or even take an old usb cable and remove the female end and even use that. Just wondering why the extra step when it could be done easier than the way you did it.

The usb from the xbox 360 is 5v to so that will work on the motors also

Yes those will work. Usually in a controller the peek level that comes out of the controller to power these type of motors is at 2V. What comes out of the computer is 5v(usb). This is ok though, because the extra 3v just makes the motor go faster for your fan.

well there is probably a hidden screw probably hidden underneath a sticker or something....

or its just shut tight you should get a micro set of scredrivers and then use the - head one the small one on the edges to open it...

I turned mine into a security alarm. I made it where my door is closed the wires aren't touching. And when someone opens it, it makes a loud vibrating noise. It was powered my a simple AAA battery.
