Actually it all started in 1973 with Star Trek The Animated Series's M'ress, remember her? i guess i became a furry after i had a crush on her when they showed reruns on Nick, Cheetara and Cleo from Heathcliff lol.

But i think your right maybe so, but isn't it just unbelivable how sexy they made cartoon catgirls in the 80's and 90's such as Cheetara, Cleo, Mress, Kit Mambo from Animalympics (Remember her and that movie?), Aishia Clan Clan,, The Puma Twins from Tank Police, Felicia from Darkstalkers, April O'Neil when she got turned into a Catwoman (Remember that episode?) and even Catwoman/Selina Kyle as an ACTUAL cat-woman from that Batman TAS episode Tyger Tyger (remember that episode?)?

The new show is surprisingly as great as that new He-Man cartoon that the same network pulled off 10 years ago and has a Teen Titans feel to it. I grew up with this show in the 80's as a kid as i'm an 80's/early 90's kid and mid-late 90's teen, i had the toys, merchandise and shirts. I even watched this when i was 16 on Toonami's anime block, and hot damn Cheetara was as hot as i remember even during that infamous first episode which gave me a boner.

you know what i loved about the clasic 80´s villains of animation? That even when you took away their main gimmick (Magic for skeletor and Mumm-ra, the army for cobra commander) they were often very capable fighters and a legit threat to the heroes. Skeletor could go toe-to-toe with He-man, cobra commander was both a charismatic leader and a very capable soldier and mirrors wasn´t just a weakness that made it easy to defeat him every time, it was often the ONLY way the cats beat him.

80's/early 90's kid and mid-late 90's too? so am i. Almost any boy was into Cheetara including me. It was her with Cleo from Heathcliff and M'ress from Star Trek the animated show that started my fascination for catgirls. Do you like catgirls too? there's just something appealing about them that enchants men like Mermaids or Elf girls have.

@TuxTheWise American Animated Television. In Japan they do not see Anime as a Japanese only thing! Anime is anything that is "Animated" as the name suggests. We use the "Cartoons" and they use "Anime". Same thing! But we use Anime to say its Japanese Animation even tho its not always true. So yes all cartoon shows made in America are American Anime. Disney, WB, and so on!
