IB: - I dont´t know, it´s not funny. Ofcourse, when you´re young and start a carrier like this, then it´s funny I do remember my first scrapbooks and how happy I was when I found something to cut out. Butit´s ok as long as it is good things they write but it is allways the other side of it which is not so funny.
R: - Dare I guess that you stoped doing scrapbooks now?
R: - It would be a hard work you wouldn´t have the time for anything else.
IB: - Yes, but it is allways a good side and a bad side in what ever occupation you choose and our occupation has so many good sides so I have never regret it.
IB: - What can you do? ( laughs ) It was the easiest thing I could to do
R: - Sometimes you think it was a rather wise carrier-choose. But I shouldn´t stand here and flatter, but ask: You coming from Paris now, where you celebrated christmas, that I seen on picturers and you are quite newly married
IB: - Yes, that too. Every tenth year is it like I change my whole life and then it is a period while I change skin and start all over again so I been very busy this last winter making a new home and move in to the new house and new life
R: - Will you be a proper housewife now and just do things like that?
IB: - No, I do this now because it is so joyfull to make a home but I think that next winter I will do a movie, or a play but I have no plans for it now.
R: - What would you prefer?
IB: - Right now I would like to act on theater because I did two movies the two that are up in Stockholm now. But when I have done a theaterplay I want to do a movie I think it is great to change
R: - So you don´t have your heart in one perticular place?
IB: - No and I never had because I find both very intresting, only that it shouldn´t go on for too long time, too long with movies or too long with theater, cause I like to change
R: - Once again this paradox that an actress dont´t wish for all too big success
R: - But to play in Sweden today how would you like that?
IB: - No, I think it is enough with what I did on the Opera I got so scared so I don´t think I ever will come back. But I ´m so happy for the succes of Signe Hasso I saw her yesterday, wonderfull play and it is really wonderfull to see her on a swedish stage again
R: - But couldn´t that scaryness from the opera-time pass over time?
R; - Wouldn´t be rather fun to act in swedish that after all is your language?
IB: - Yes, and I have to say that when I did the opera which after all was a talking role that it is something totaly different to speak your own language. There is so many nuances that, even if you speak english or french quite good, will you not get this nuances that you get in your own language.
R: - In which language do you think when you´re working with an english movie?
IB: - If there is an english movie, then I think in english. It depends on which language I talk I will think in the same language but french I speak so badly so I don´t belive I think in french (- laughs)
IB: - (Laugh). But now I speak so much swedish in my private life so it has been more swedish than it used to be
R: - Tell me, you are now married to a theater-producer who produce plays in many places of the world isn´t that a path for you to start produce or direct?
IB: - No, I would never dare I couldn´t take the responsibilty for that. I think it is hard enough to handle my own role. I would never direct or produce that´s his business
R: - Still the same perplexed girl
IB: - Yes (laughs) I haven´t learned a thing
R: - Returns after all this years and haven´t experienced a thing
IB: - Yes, and that´s what keeps me going and I still have the same enthusiasm for everything as I had as young
IB: - It is, and it wont go away because I never learn a thing (laughs)
R: - You speak so conciliatory of the newspapers. You used to be angry. What is it that made you more concilatory again?
IB: - But I´ve been angry at the press many times but it passes. I mean,all actors- not about the work cause that I belive is absdolutly right if you are foolish enough that you want to stand on a stage and play something, then you shall have the curage to hear what people say about it
IB: - Yes, you begging for it, But, when it comes to your privatelife and difficulties that people doesn´t know a thing about and they give you advices and warnings and critisizes everything, then you prefere that they shall clean up their own acts first before they come to mine. But that´ll pass such an anger that I feel sometimes, - and it is not only swedish journalists, it has been english and americans

Ingrid was brilliant. How in the world was she able to speak five languages? This woman was a genius!! No other actress in American film was able to speak so many languages. Not even the "great" Katharine Hepburn nor Bette Davis.
