I have a terrible sweet tooth, it is interesting that wherever you go, you find different candies. (Even though like Almond says, most candy is all made by 3 companies). I found a great licorice from Australia but fresh licorice here is impossible to find here.
Sounds like a cool book. My favorite candy was "Ice Cube" chocolates from Germany. If I remember correctly they are only imported certain times of the year because they melt very easily. Guess that's why they call em' ice cubes :) Awesome taste, though.
Oh yes, absolutely. My family owned convenience stores when I was growing up and we always had them in stock in the cooler months.
If you google "ice cube chocolate candy" there a lots of places to buy them online. Check the counter of your local market or convenience store. Someone should have them in stock by now.
If you've never had them I suggest you try one. They're great!
