You have the best last steps and some other parts. I combined your method (mostly your method) with one of the steps that user RobH0629 has in his video. It think his top cross method is easier to get through.
Also, for getting the middle edges, align the top colour to the opposite side that you're trying to solve. It's hard to explain in words, but getting the middle layer is very easy if you don't explain it in pure algorithms.
okay so i need to switch one of the pieces in the middle. its exactly like the corners at 2:11, (in the right place but flipped the wrong way) only its in the top middle. i already have the face to the right and directly below it finished...if i do Fi U Li Ui will it mess up my solved faces???
PLEASE ANSWER even to tell me if it didnt make sense. comment on my channel or click reply to this comment PLEASE
That doesn't not really make sense. You say it's like the corners at 2:11, but then you say that you need to switch one of the middle edges?? But the middle edges should have already been compelted if you have reached this stage of the cube. If you did not complete the middle edges you need to go back to the previous steps first. You are confusing me b/c you say it's "exactly" like at 2:11, yet then you say something is wrong in the top-middle... Which is different than at 2:11
lol... Yeah im double jointed. The thumb thing is called a hitchhiker's thumb. It's one of those many genetic traits that i'm sure you learned about in science class. Like having a widow's peak, attached/unnattached earlobe, etc...
thank you so ,fucking much dude ,, now i can solve it on my own without using a paper with the algoryhms on it,, cause i know them by heart now,, thanks a bunch man !! 5/5
This video is the only one I've ever seen that actually makes sense. All of the other ones are confusing and hard to follow, but this one is incredible! I kept getting stuck on the last step, and was ready to give it up forever, but then I realized that I wasn't listening to one very important detail you were giving, and then everything worked!
I had totally overlooked the fact that when solving the final corners (the step that makes the cube look all funky, even though it isn't), that after you solved one of the wrong corners with algorithm 7, you were supposed to turn the top layer with the next corner on it to the side you were already on, rather than turning the whole cube to that side. After I realized that, finishing it became so easy! Thanks again!
thanks lalaborat.but there is the last corner piece ,which is on the right place ,but not good positioned.i made step nr.7 a lot of times but it didn't helped.can you give me an advice?
ok, run into a problem... For alg. 6, Let's say every corner is correct, yet none are lined up correctly. ie we are working on blue on top, but blue is not on top for the four corners, somehow reversed, but all the colors are the right colors for the sides. I assume I can start on any face, and do the algorithm, and it will change to some corner being right, others being wrong. I always leave the correct corner at bottom right, of the top. I definitely get the algorithm, that's not a problem.
OH, but I was down to the last algorithm, remember the two cubes which need Ri Di R D, and somehow screwed it! Im not sure if I messed up the motions, or passed it... is it possible to pass it? If I passed it and kept doing the same algorithm, would I get to it again, or would it get more and more messed up?
Hey, you are by far the best teacher I have found on the internet. Other teachers, smart they may be, are way too fast or assume you can see things that you didn't. You go out of your way to make things clear, slow, intuitive... in short, it is the way I would teach it if I knew how to do it! Great teacher, and thanks!
dude your guide is by far the best ive seen, I dont have my cube with me :( but im very confident now that i will hav it beat tommorow. I have the first layer complete and I was using my own algorythem working on the second layer, which was not working :D but really greatful for this video and hopefully il be replying tommorow to say wahooo !!! lol
Very good Rubiks series! It seems like a complex solution (I did an 'X's solution in the 80s) but the video is pretty easy to follow. I understand the solution and can solve the cube now so it must be good right?!?! :-)
What don't you like about it exactly? What areas can I work on to make it better?
Remember, this is for absolute beginners... I see that you can already solve the cube, so the video may be a little too slow for you.
So far, every single person who has seen my video has been able to solve the cube. However, if you go on pogobats video, you see thousands of people writing how confused they are, and that he needs to go slower.
That is just one way of easing the memorization process. Viewers can choose how they want to memorize the algorithms. As this is a beginner video, I try to give them my tips on how I helped memorize certain algs to make this exhausting process (for beginners) easier.
lalaborat, if u get to the last step but have 3 cubes that need twisting into place, do u still do exactly the same, because surely it will all be back to normal after the 2nd time uve done the full algorithm, and then if u do the 3rd one, wouldnt it mess it up again?
If you get to the last step, and you have 3 cubes that need fixing, then you just do the exact same thing to all 3 corners. Start with the first one by putting it in the bottom right hand corner, and then just keep rotating the top and completing the algorithms until all 3 sides are complete. You may even have 4 corners that need fixing, and you do the same thing in that situation as well. =) Are you having a problem with something, or just asking a general question?
thanks. i was just asking because i didnt want to get to the final step and then mess it up, like i have done before when i didnt use ur vid and i used stupid dan browns guide which sucks
Man out of all videos for this i have seen, yours was the best.,. I was like most and at the end I kept Messing my greens up and having to start over. BUT I NOTICE MY PROBLEM. I KEEP GETTING AHEAD OF MYSELF. I KEEP MOVING THE WHOLE CUBE TO GET THE LAST PIECE IN THE LOWER RIGHT HAND CORNER INSTEAD OF MOVING JUST THE TOP. ONCE I NOTICED I WAS DOING THAT. SIMPLE.
Make sure you are actually completing the entire algorithm. For example, if you're doing the algorithm and you finally get the blue to show up on top, don't forget to complete the ENTIRE algorithm and complete the "down" step.
i.e. Maybe you're doing "Ri, Di, R" and then you see the blue and you stop? But you must continue and do the "Down" step, and then move on to the next corner. Or else you will mess up the cube.
Dude thanks so much!! I have looked at many different websites, videos, tutorials, until I stumbled upon you, and you helped me the best!!! You explained the top portion of the cube better than Dan Brown ever could! You should be featured in the Youtube awards, not him! You rock!!!
Thanks so much for your kind comments! I wish I could help more people like you, but since there are so many rubik's videos out there, mine doesn't get as many views. I don't mind though, as long as I can help even just one person a day, that's fine with me =)
hey man i got 1 perfect corner and wen i put it in the bottom right and do algorithm 6 it just goes back to how it was and there is no other good corners at all! i repeat the algorithm over and over still another corner doesnt match they are still all rong! wot am i doing rong?
When you say "there are no good corners at all," I'm assuming you know what a "good" corner is? A good corner doesn't have to perfectly align the colors, the corner piece just has to be in the correct corner. Anyway, if you truly are up to step 6, and you put a good corner in the bottom right hand corner, then it should take at MAX 2 repetitions of algorithm 6 for all the corners to be in the right place (not perfectly oriented, but in the right place to get ready for the final step).

Okay. I've seriously gone through so many videos. And I run into the same problem every time. At the very last step, after I got all the corner pieces the right way, I do the Ri Di R D algorithm, until the blue is in the right spot. I then turn only the top layer, to the next open corner piece and repeat it. I do this until the entire top side is solved, but once it is, everything else is messed up. I've solved my cube to that point at least 40 times. Been at it for about 8 hours. Please help me
Has anyone ever taken the rubik's cube apart? If so, it could be messed up and we'll have o put the pieces back into the right spot before we start to solve it. I'm going to private message you and we can figure it out.

elgeoh 3 years ago
When you say "there are no good corners at all," I'm assuming you know what a "good" corner is? A good corner doesn't have to perfectly align the colors, the corner piece just has to be in the correct corner. Anyway, if you truly are up to step 6, and you put a good corner in the bottom right hand corner, then it should take at MAX 2 repetitions of algorithm 6 for all the corners to be in the right place (not perfectly oriented, but in the right place to get ready for the final step).
lalaborat 3 years ago
If you truly understand that step and it's just not working, the only other possibility is that you or someone took apart the cube one time and you didn't put it back in the correct way. If that's the case then the cube cannot be solved until you take it apart again and solve it by building the pieces back together.
lalaborat 3 years ago
actually, I did that a few times too when I got frustrated, I messed up the cube order. But you can still very easily solve the first two layers with the cube scrambled. The top layer you can just take the pieces apart and putting only the top layer in. Much faster than disassembling and reassembling the cube.
Just pointing that out =)
